Aegon is actually willing to fight for his throne and family unlike Joffery

1. Alicent isn't dumb. There were only 3 Aegons at this point. Viserys never spoke to Alicent about the SOIAF so she wouldn't get the reference and know that he was talking about Aegon I aka Aegon the Conqueror (who has been dead for a VERY long time) and not their son, Aegon II. Additionally, the ITE for that episode explains that Viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenrya who WOULD have gotten the reference. Alicent was working with the information she had at the time. 2. There are a LOT of Targaryen bastards running around. Most people remember kings at the time of their death; as old men, but they were once young, virile princes who sampled many fair maidens and women who were not so fair. 3. We met the Brackens and the Blackwoods in Season 1 when Rhaenyra was sent on a tour of the Seven Kingdoms to find a husband. 4. People change their minds all the time. Aegon the Unworthy, on his deathbed, legitimized all of his bastards. Nobody said, "Well he didn't do it all these years, it doesn't count." He said it, he was king, it was done. That's the bottom line. Viserys was king up until the moment he took his last breath, if he wanted to change his mind, he was free to do so. 5. Viserys being delusional does NOT matter. Aerys was LITERALLY called the "Mad King" but people still followed his orders even though they thought he was insane. He was the king. That's the bottom line.

An interesting detail is Alicent's brother calling Criston Dornish. Dorne at this point isn't yet under the Iron Throne. The Coles were apparently are from a place where the Dornish, Reach, & Stormlands have been fighting for ages so: 1: G Hightower is kinda saying Cole is currently his enemy 2: Cole's family probably had some forbidden love drama, which might explain a lot about his character

Dragonstone is in blackwater bay. A day by boat at most, hours or even minutes by dragon.

40:00 Dragonstone is an island across the bay from Kingslanding. It’s like 5-6 hours by boat

Bracken and Blackwood are 2 House’s of the Riverlands that have hated eachother for a long time! In season 1 we saw a Blackwood Boy kill a Bracken young man in episode 3 I believe

Dragon stone is only a day or two tops from KL.

Daemond beat Alicent brother in the first season episode 1.
