People joke about DRG being a floor tank... but has the floor ever killed you with a DRG on duty? No? That's what I thought.

I feel so called out right now. Most of ARR I was like, "Why's everyone make dead Dragoon jokes? I'm fine!" And then came the Lv. 50+ bosses. And all became clear. Each death is now a reminder that I am fulfilling my role...of tanking the ground.

When I was in potd a red mage backflipped into a mine. It was hilarious.

Nothing kills a DRG faster than Jump and Spineshatter Dive. The animation lock has killed me so many times in my early DRG career. It takes practice to time them just right.

So, what I'm getting from this is... if attacks in this game worked like every other game, and you didnt take damage because you stood in the ability hitbox before it disappeared but were outside where the hitbox was before the attack animation even happened, dragoons wouldn't have anything to worry about.

I like how larry just gets worse progressively as the voiceover keeps hyping it up

We have to keep perpetuating loldrg so that we can be pleasantly surprised everytime a drg stays alive in our df runs

I've leveled my Dragoon to 60 I can safely say I know why people make fun of them. It's the animation lock for example like using jump or Spineshatter Dive that killed me in the most ridiculous way as possible

On a serious note its so nice having to my knowledge the only animation lock attack in the entire game. Mmmm love it totally doesnt get people killed all the time unless they have seen the boss and or enemies before. Super great idea Yoshi P.

Watching life of the dragon wear off with 2 stacks of gaze made my heart ache uncontrollably

ina more seriously note, LOL DRG come from FFXI there DRG has a wyvern, that attack together with the "DRG" and the wyvern is part of the DPS, BUT if you happen to get your pet wyvern killed well... you have 1/3rd of your dps cut off, that is why ppl start calling DRG "lol DRG", because some end game boss was spamming AOE, and so the pet was almost dying everytime ...

lol drg has been a thing since ff11. The reason being that for wearing medium/heavy armor they were squishy and died a lot, their pet was (no longer is) on a 2 hour cool down. A good chunk of their damage came from the pet. in ff14 it was because drg would elusive jump off platforms.

Yes, lets focus our bullying rage on popotos.

As a DRG main, I can say that the only time I die is when my team doesn't follow the fight mechanics to avoid a wipe move...or when I autorun off a cliff.

Animation lock, novice DRGs fall into the trap to use jumps whenever they can which carries over to endgame when they are able to get eye stacks and are forced to do jumps. Back in my early days, i refused to use jumps when i was in a new content to learn when it is safe to use but thats not possible anymore with the eye stacks XD Every new content has a sign just for me 'You will die because of jumps today :3c '

0:25 God, that just reminds me of the _lol ded RDM_ moment I had in Amaurot a long while ago. We reach the third boss, and I had just reached lvl 80 a few days ago and didn't sort out my hotbars to swap Displacement and Engagement. I thought that Therion had enough distance in order to make my combo and leap back...and I leaped right over the edge into death. That was absolutely embarrassing and I didn't hesitate to call myself out preemptively before my teammates could do so.
