This is what I think (CREDITS TO @favourreacts THIS IS HER THEORY) So she's obviously a snail but she STARTS OUT in a DESERT.. We all know snails like wet and damp places so why the heck would a snail be in a warm, dry desert? I think the desert represents sort of a space if discomfort or sadness. THEN Melanie sees an orb of light The orb probably being someone she loves and trusts The orb (her love) is guiding her slowly into the forest (which is their natural habitat) So the forest and waterfall represents her happiness and trust and comfort, which the orb (her love) led her to Long story short, she was in a place of discomfort and depression but she found her true love and they guieded her to be happy and comfortable and content

Ik this is just a theory but it’s because snails are slow, and only come out in the rain so the “buried in the desert” bit is because she feels like she isn’t where she’s meant to be and the slow part is because it’s slow/hard to find the light (true love)!
