Thank you for taking the time to help us! I was thinking my avocado seeds hated me. BTW - I love the sound of your voice. You should do Kahil Gibran for audio books.
I have never been able to grow using the toothpicks. I have had good success (100%) by peeling the pit, loosely wrapping it in a small papertowel, and placing it, along with some warm air, in a small zipper-style plastic bag such as the one you put your lunch sandwich in.
You have an incredible voice. Amazing! I love it! I put two seeds side by side in two separate glasses and one took off and the other one is growing lots of roots but it won’t open up and sprout at the top. I potted the first one and it’s really taking off but the second one just keeps growing more and more roots but won’t crack open and grow up. Even though it is not sprouting, should I go ahead a put it in a pot and place it in my bedroom window that gets plenty of sun? Thank you for all your advice!
My seed has like a million roots but the sprouts keep dying by the time they reach like 2cm. In the crack of the seed is just a mass of dead sprouts now. Kind of looks like a peach pit in the middle. It’s in a glass jar, with a consistent temperature, and plenty of light. How do I help it?
Hi Shony, if outdoor is now warm, pot it and let it grow in well drained soil. All seeds are differently from each others and potentially this one you have need soil. Water it once every 3 days if is warm and once per week if the temperature is mild. Give it a chance and at the same time start a new one or multiple, you'll notice how they are all different from each others. Let me know how it goes. good luck.
I am from India very, tropic of Cancer passes near my area so how to grow avocado from seed brought as fruit from grocery store there? And I purchased a plant too and cur it top part including few leaves it has stopped growing
Experience dealing with many failing avocado seeds helps 😂 I find now that putting the seed in a wet kitchen paper in a bag is the quickest way to grow it.
Try 3 at the same time. One should at least grow. I also forced my seed open when it began to naturally crack apart, was left with half of a seed and all the growth. It fed on water better
