My parents bought this car a month ago, and definitely worth the buy. The MPG is outstanding, and most of the time reaches 40 MPG. I drove it, and the ride quality is amazing. Definitely looks good too. Thx for reviewing this car Raiti!!!
hey joe, during the first 2 minutes all I could focus on was that nice silver watch you got on, not too glossy, good size you could probably fit a sour patch under that especially during Halloween. absolutely no zonk for me, enjoy man and be safe.
Great video on the Highlander. I checked with my local Toyota dealer and trying to get a platinum hybrid in the color scheme with that brown interior and I was told $3000 over MRSP for them to special order one. I decided that I'll wait a few months for the local Kia dealership to special order the Telluride SX Prestige and pay MRSP. I enjoy your humor. Makes me want to watch your next review. 😁
Toyota knocked this out of the park. Love the MPG and the interior. It's toss up right now in terms of Highlander, Sorento, and Outlander. I've had a camry for the past 7 years so I'm kind of toyota biased the reliability has been phenomenal.
The rainy weather made it an even better video... My 2020 Toyota Rav4 really shines through in the rain, both in terms of maneouvreability through high water and visibility through the rainfall. Great video, Hope to graduate to a Highlander in a few years.
Yes those flares SHOULD be painted. Flat trim should be a manufacturer's base BASE model...or a Jeep that's really offroading Also...that mpg and Toyota reliability is definitely something to consider versus the TelluSade and PaliRide
@@Aaron-lc8nf Yeah I'm hip to the powertrain warranty. I'm a big fan of the Telluride but I hope they continue to stay ahead of the competition for awhile. One reason is to hopefully force a competitive market and have other manufacturers realize we CAN get better value for our hard earned cash.
You were curious about the black on the fenders; all depends on where a person lives. If their home is down a dirt road, the black would help aid against the rock chips you just know the paint is gonna get. I'm really liking the interior of this Platinum Highlander! I'm just wondering If I should consider one in my future...
Hi Raiti - Was the drive, road & engine noise quiet, compared say, to the 2021 Camry, which I know is quiet? was the ride soft, which is what I am looking for?
How do you like the CVT? That's a deal breaker for me. I hate CVT transmissions. Plus, the power numbers scare me. What's the 0-60 time in this? It can't be great with those low power numbers.
@@chadfeltman9565 I have had a 2021 for two months. Spectacular vehicle. Fast enough for me and smooth as glass to drive. Tech is fabulous. Mileage is extraordinary. Couldn’t be happier.
Yooooooow Joe this Highlander is certainly a looker. Making AWD an option for the hybrid platinum is a good move for Toyota. I wish they didnt use so many badges all over it though tbh, and that third row is definitely for kids only...or adult you don't like too much lol lol Thanks for the review and the laughs and mad props for doing the drive in the storm!!! #RaitisRides #OnThrottle #ToTheDoorPanel #TwinkiesForDays #OnThrottleAgain #CrownVic #IfYoureReadyImReady
That highlander with the caramel internet looks so gorgeous😍. It has the best fuel economy over any other suv. Also the highlander is way better than the Honda Pilot.
Toyota redesign it but they didn’t make spacious 3rd row and it’s same congested 3rd row like previous generation and I can’t trust CVT. Joe, why Toyota uses automatic transmission on gasoline and CVT on hybrid models? Why not automatic transmission on hybrid?
I have one. The wind noise is horrific. I believe there is a problem with the door design. You can clearly see the openings in the door seals. For this reason alone I regret getting it.
I wouldn't be playing with my balls while I'm driving the Highlander. This is the most sound review of the Highlander. I know it is not an agile SUV or any SUV for that matter but being comfortable with a nice quiet cabin is key. Thanks again for the great reviews!
The new design is nice, however , I feel like the tail lights went a step backwards...The previous model (2017-19) had a nice LED design in the tail lights.
Hi, I was thinking of buying Highlander 2023 XLE model but many of friends told me that it does not give much mileage with Gas and asking me to go for Hybrid. Can you please advise?
Nice looking vehicle. The infotainment unit looks great. I’m still not sure I like the rear quarter panel bulge and I don’t like the tan interior. I’m not into hybrids, and do they use a CVT (ZONK) on the hybrid to save weight for better MPG’s in addition to the electric motors for AWD? I’m glad your “bacon” was saved while driving in the rain. LOL Thanks for sharing it Joe, well done! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Nice looking vehicle, Toyota has a great reputation for a quality product. My only concern might be the CVT transmission and I thought they would have put led gages for the driver. Overall I would definitely put this Highlander in our garage.
Not sure how I like the tacked on hybrid badge on the door. Also, I learned you can't get a tow package if you go for a limited or platinum Highlander because of the foot sensor for the liftgate which I don't get.
Flat black fender trim looks OK, but would have looked better painted. When it starts to age and fade to grey, it won't look as good. Will need to keep it protected with a good trim product.
Are the larger and larger wheels just for looks??? I know it causes a rougher ride and less gas mileage. Not a bad price for the Highlander. Thanks again Joe 👍
@@thinkabout602 you spelled grammar wrong lmao which I don't give two shits about by the way. I was asking about the larger wheels you're questioning. I thought you were saying larger and larger as in the back ones were larger than the front ones or something to that extent but you were just emphasizing.
@@jaysantoyo6215 Yep, the misspelled word in quotes was just for fun. No harm done and I'm trying to keep my sense of humor in this crazy world of ours. Stay safe my friend 👍
I know you zonked the no power telescoping steering wheel. You will see that more and more now for safety. For example a 70,000 Volvo XC90 t6 Inscription doesn’t have power telescoping steering wheel that way if you get in an accident and need to be removed from the car they can manually move the steering wheel with no power. another reason why there are no arm rests with captain chairs in Volvos since EVERYTHING they do is based around safety

good detail review..but i do have to say that trying to hydroplane with oncoming traffic is not a good thing..people in florida already cant drive...they just dont need to be tempted to continue..
The black wheel arches look tacky. They should match the paint or better yet, a thin, tasteful chrome strip at the top that fades and disappears further down. These are nice, but I'd prefer the non-hybrid
You don't mention that it has a heated steering wheel. The only way I knew was I saw the button for it in the video. You should defenitly not forget to mention that in vehicle reviews.
Hellcat is a beast. But no point in having such a fast family car. Plus it's a dodge so best believe you'll be going to the mechanics every other year and the gas pump every other day. Highlander beats it in every category but speed.
Ok my zonks are not full digital instrumentation. And no need for gear shift when can use push button. If I need to get balls over to other side of car I need to get them throw them higher to clear the gear shift.
