Why is the New Season so Blah....? | Pokémon GO Battle League! 

Yes this needs to get fixed! Haven't played since the last go battle weekend, since that period lag has been even more extreme. Even fast move denial etc happened a lot

Same, I didn't reach Legend this season (still trying to push though) and the past one because of it, I should just stop playing whenever it goes live lol

@@itzmatos This season I stopped playing the week of catch cup. And I just got to 2970. I hope that by tomorrow I can reach legend. If Niantic reacted earlier, I would already reached legend. Theme cups should be completely optional, and GL should be available always. I really struggle when thematic cups are paired with Master League.

@@manolysantome8057 I have the same experience as well. Master league and Jungle cup was also a horrible week for me

@yagopacheco2855 I know, right?! I just reached legend today. With the catch cup at the very end or being mandatory, this would not be possible. I had not been able to reach legend since it was impelemented. Thank the lord this is not the case anymore...

@@itzmatos Can you prove it? No you can’t. Just like I can’t. If it was a “real” Elo system there wouldn’t be queue times, rather a bonus (lower Elo player) or, a negative Elo effect (higher Elo player). Why is the game taking 2-3 minutes to find a game when there’s “millions” of players? You don’t think this game can run sims and find potentially close games? Foolish if you don’t think so. Doesn’t mean it’s directly choosing who wins or loses, but it’s making artificially close/good games. And again if there was no elo system, players should easily be able to queue up and hit 75-80% win/lose for an entire season. (World champions/very high tier players) but even the best struggle to try and break and consistently hold 60%.

@@michaelhefner1233 I focus on improving my gameplay and to analyse what could have gone better. That kind of mentality sucks and it's a reason why a lot of players don't get far lol

Idk, I feel like the only people that have a right to be sick of a company are competitors, content creators and those with stock in the company. Why? because as consumers we have tons of options and these are NOT essential life things. You have an option to quit, take breaks, switch to a new game, save your money, email, protest, boycott or play within your means of the game. Pogo is playable, but if you want to play free to play and battle and have a fun still, your options are limited but still fun if you enjoy battling or events. For me personally, I quit Pogo like 3 years ago. I was playing since the first week it launched, took a year break, came back for a few. I battle heavy AND grind in New York. For me in the long run it's a waste of time and money, so I quit. If you take the game 100% serious, it's a time and money sink to hard grind and battle. I don't make content or play in tournaments or such so there was no reward for that for me. The money and time I spent on pogo, now goes towards a business, and resources. It's the same thing with gaming as a whole. If you play something like Call of Duty, in 2024, if you're spending 5-8 hours a day playing a game and not being paid something, you're just burning time and money. even if you make $100 a week only uploading vids to Social media, that $70 game and $400 a month pays for the game itself and the hours are justified even at that low amount of cash per year for that hobby. It doesn't make sense to just play games hardcore anymore unless you REALLY enjoy it and find the balance between fun but not sinking too much time. I watch POGO vids for entertainment now.

I was really hoping for pawmo to get an overhaul of available moves. It could counter some of the common core I see week after week after week in this cup..OH WELL!

I'd be down to see top 100 but that would limit a lot of people. Helps me tho I always triple move and dust weird stuff. Almost always regret it right after too lol

@@adrianmacklin418 I think top 50 would be fair, takes out the "core meta" but allows some of the niche picks that usually work well in special cups

Why not scald remain powerful & swift could be coverage for certain pokemon but I do agree this update is still meh Why nerf confusion & rock throw? You want to make twister a new breaking swipe? Apparently ursaluna can't learn ground fast move & I like to see more coverage like your examples of grass types lol why venesaur needs another?

There needs to be a full blown combat system rework because the problem is we do not have any effects bar buffs debuffs and normal damage moves. Nothing fixes it at this point like Pokemon as a whole and the only solution is to move to Arknights or something.

What changes would you make to the GBL to improve it? Honestly, I think you and the other RU-vidrs/content creators are about the only way to get a message across to Niantic at this point, as it's clear they generally have disdain towards their player base and the opinions within, so I'd love to see a further, larger critique from you and others on how they could actually implement something new or different to improve it and freshen it up a considerable bit. I know what I would do, but I'm merely a peon, not worthy of the great corporate overlords time. They'd gladly take my money though if I offered it to them, so I guess their priorities are quite clear...

Yep, it's basically the same thing. Vigoroth cup in the summer cup, fossil cup is just horrible, and Fantasy cup is extremely limited

@@iamcristiannn and that’s fine, if the battle system worked like the main series games. Pokémon Unite doesn’t utilize the same stat products, and it allows them to tweak individual mon vs blanket nerfing or buffing moves

Exactly, they have so much room to make a complete shift in the meta. I can see how a compete change could be bad but at least make something MAJOR that gives other pokemon the ability to shine. All it takes is a simple buff to weak moves…

And a buff to water mon counters. Can't stay a water meta forever

Or limited to the last 180 days. That way, you can use stuff you built for the last catch cup😊

It's EXACTLY what it is. Catch cup - caught pokemon during the current season. Problem are: people building their 3rd Basti, 4th Lanturn, 5th Cash for example just to compete in CC
