20 yr paramedic here. Loved seeing your thoughts on what can be done with a retired ambulance. Personally my favorite retired ambulances are the ones you turn into Ectos, but this one is cool too. Keep up the good work!
The deal on these ambulances can get even better, my buddy bought one and it still had the stretcher in it, he sold it to cash4cots for over $6,000! It was in great shape and was one of the motorized ones which makes it very valuable. That ended up subsidizing a large percentage of the cost of his ambulance.
Yes Bob I’m a car collector but yes my Ford Excursion has the 6.0 powerstroke turbo diesel and really wish that I bought the 7.3 power stroke diesel and it is definitely positively wish that they put that motor in my truck my brother has the Excursion with the 6.8 V10 gas guzzler lol I absolutely love everything you do you are so smart and talented I’ve been super impressed with your work and your a very positive young man. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
Best base for conversion to a camper. Upmost build quality, pre wired, insulated with uber outside storage. No brainer. 7.3 is a die hard monster of an engine. Worth losing a little MPG for dependability and longevity. Great vid.
@VideoBob.... Your one hell of a salesman! I'm actually in the process a purchasing a 2000 E350 Ambulance, with OD 120K miles. it was pre built out so it's ready move in!
I got to work on one in auto technology class with two batteries under the hood and the light controllers were in the storage compartments on the driver side.
The mileage on retired police, fire and EMT vehicles is not what you should go by. With the amount of idling these vehicles do, you always need to go by engine hours instead. Typically, idle engine hours will amount to the same engine wear as 5x (or more) of what the mileage on the odometer says... unless it's an ex-highway patrol or a supervisor car.
@@AbandonedExplorationUrbex1979 then you can do it mother, jugs and speed style or go the typical Ghostbusters way, IDK but there is just something that is kind of funny about making a tiny home out of a "meatwagon"🤭
Ran those for years. If transmission starts slipping or smelling, unhook the trans cooler start it for a few seconds reconnect and refill with 3 quarts Lucas stop slip and keep going another 2 or 3 hundred thousand miles.
I think the bigger reason most people gut the interiors of these is because there is a huge stigma attached to ambulances. People are worried about catching something infectious from touching the surfaces inside.
I have a ‘96 E350 and it’s not the infection people are creeped as most are sanitized daily. People believe that the injured have died inside and left behind haunted spirits, etc.
it is like looking at the insides of a giant computer with those circuit boards ( if only computers opened that easy wouldn't have to wait weeks for a repair job )
I do dumb shit, best statement ever Bob. 🤣🤣🤣 I daily drive a 99 F-250 superduty with the 7.3 powerstroke with over 300k miles and it runs like a dream.

@@RobertMoseley I know I own an Auto Glass Shop. But wasn't it you take made a video about getting the Excursion Windshield Replaced and the guy took it out and wouldn't put the new one in? It's been a few years
Take care of the Kussmaul and make sure your chassis batteries are good. When it shits itself you're screwed. Also try to make sure all parasitic drain is gone, because it doesnt show itself till someone forgets to plug it in.
You mean a "meatwagon", because people die in ambulances. This would especially be true if it was one of those Cadillac chassi'd ambulances that him and many other ghostheads build Ectos from, because most of them also are a hearse
How do you insure it, I am having issues when I call companies with the VIN number and they do not want to even talk to me. Pre Conversion or post conversion.
