Greeting from Narnia! We have had a great weekend here in the mountains. On Friday it snowed all day, but the night was clear and the sky filled up with stars. We woke to a brilliant blue sky, the kind of day that has to begin with a snow machine ride in the hills. Up here, we work in the bad weather and play in the sunshine!
We pulled the last of the concrete buckets out from under our cabin. If anyone wants them we will give them to you (you will have to pay the shipping though). Last week I asked if any of your could guess what we were planning to do with this cabin and several of you made very good guesses indeed. Good job! That is all I will say for now, because we want you to be surprised.
The winter is almost over here and you will see evidence of it very soon. We are excited to show you what the arrival of spring looks like here in the pass.
Thank you all so much!
Love to you from Alaska

We have started watching your channel with our disabled son this week. Your enthusiasm and work ethic, as well as the quality of work, is really refreshing, especially given the environmental hurdles you have to cross. Having Tanya there has to be a boost, too. You guys work so well together. Your grandson is a great helper, too, as seen in the log cabin project! Trudi and I will celebrate 45 years of marriage in a couple of weeks; seeing you work together so caringly is not often seen enough. Thank you! PS: my cousin and her husband have lived in Fairbanks over 20 years, so we have a hint of how you deal with the environment(on the other hand we've lived in the Phoenix area over 37 years dealing with summer temps in the high 110+) Thanks for sharing!

I've just come inside from doing garden work with my husband, now hot and tired.( We are both in our mid 70's)It's getting cooler here, winter is on its way 😀 but nothing like you have to deal with. Wow. So good to hear you both talking to these comments. Community is so important, even virtual ones. Theres always something to learn from in your content. Sometimes its in the skills you employ, now its in the way you sync together and communicate so respectfully. I’ve never seen so many unique uses for a backhoe! When you laugh at obstacles, I’m totally there. My partner is an aged care nurse and he doesn’t understand why I find renovation content in cold climates so fascinating. If only he would sit still for 5 minutes and “chill”. Thanks for doing the chilling for us. Gratitude and good vibes from the other side of the same little planet. 🙏🏻👍🏻

@@ThisIsMyAlaska Warm Greetings Gale......Indeed I do watch each video more than once. I just finished watching this video for the 4th time. My carpentry skills are NO where equal to yours so I do pick up on some "tool of the trade". But mostly I enjoy watching each video. I grew up watching my grandpa in his carpentry shop and I used to spend hours watch and working with my father working with his hands. He not only excelled at carpentry, he was a self taught engineering draftsman who drew free hand. He restored a WWII airplane from a pile of junk to pristine order and he flew it for years. Daddy could do anything he set his mind to do which is why I have always been adventurous and never shy away from trying new things. I especially like the way you do not cut corners. All of your work is so secure and well finished........the way all builders should operate. While I am enjoying watching you set those large support beams I doubt that I will ever do anything like that. So I am very anxious to watch as you start the remodeling of the cabin. It will be very exciting weekly watching...............Stay warm and sending big hugs to you, Tanya & STELLA........

Your channel is part of my weekly viewing. I enjoy it so much. Since your wife joined you on the show it is doubly good and your dog Stella is just so adorable. I would rather watch your channel than the stuff on the TV networks it is just so natural and wholesome. If there were Oscars for RU-vid channels you would be at the top.

Are you, Tanya and Stella going to use the cabin as a sled?😉😀 Are you going to take it over by the other property as a place to stay while you work on the bigger place? These are the plans you dream design when you are out there camping on your own I bet👍🏻🥰

I love watching your exploits, i got hooked when you were building your log cabin and to see your grandson helping hou was wonderful. I live in the UK and have recently moved into my own log cabin near the river seven in central England, but thankfully we don't have the snow and severe weather conditions that you are working in. Keep up the great work and now your wife is helping you it has really added something special to your videos. I look forward to watching more videos and the progress of the work on your log cabin. 👍🏻😁👏

love you guys both, me and the wife are in the same prossses at our camp, did alot there, including adding a hand pump for water, much easier the hand bombing it with buckets!!... we are at the edge of the world in Canada, 6 months of winter and 6 weeks of uncomfortable weather in the summer, our garden is pretty much bullshit... lol , but we try...lol thank you... and god bless

Good evening Gerald. Tanya and I both chuckled at your garden comment. We are considering a hand pump here when summer arrives. So far we carry it all from the spring in jugs. The water quality is fantastic here. It just does not get any better. Where in Canada are you (approximately)? It sounds remote. Thanks for watching. Talk to you soon

If you get one notch of reception, try a cell phone booster with a yagi antenna on the roof and you'll get full reception except in storms. I have a tower 2km across the valley now but before that my booster picked up 3G from 12km away across two hills. Just check if you need to get a permit first. We have to get permission in Australia. We're heading for winter here with 32 degree nights.

Brings out your knowledge and warmth and the strong connection between the two of you. You have Nirvana going there in Alaska! Hey guys from down in the lower 48 in Tennessee!!! I have not been watching you all very long, but I truly enjoy every video you all post and enjoy watching how hard you ask work in that cold weather. I guess it’s not so bad if you are use to doing it. I don’t know what I would do with that much snow it’s like a huge mountain. Looking forward to seeing what you all are going to with the house. See how far you all are going to take it out of there. I mean there is nobody around where you all are at all. But you all are truly amazing people and enjoy watching you all do all the work you are doing to the house.

What a lovely wrap-up around the fire. You guys are growing into the whole RU-vid experience but for us who watch, it's the authenticity in your relationship that is endearing - and the work ethic too. If the house is on skis (those beams look like they could be used for moving the whole superstructure) so I guess that there could be a floating house for the lake being made possible (to go on some kind of barge). Whatever it turns out to be, it's wonderful being part of your adventure. Blessings from Perth in Scotland.
