I put some blame on Cara Liss. After all she is the one who makes chimera fossil pokemon and is somehow not in a maximum security prison for crimes against pokemon, nature, and ethics.
@@andresmarrero8666 I mean, the fact that she has a rudimentary fossil reviver in the wastelands, accepting fossil pieces from kids is concerning enough, but when you read the Pokedex entries for these guys, it becomes kinda obvious that they are made up facts. Did she HACK the Pokedex just to save face? Also, does the whole "Vish" part of Dracovish and Arctovish mean that she's got a Russian accent?
@@insertclevernamehere1186 I wouldn't be surprised because otherwise there wouldn't be any information for the pokedex to bring up aside from what it scanned. All the pokedex really says is, "These creatures should not exist. They're abominations and in pain." Might as well add in falsifying information and tricking the pokedex into having nonexistent records to her list of crimes because I doubt that she has any sort of degree. Or Galar is just that dumb and inadequate which after the whole Rose incident and there isn't a single ranger or law enforcement in that entire region, I would believe. I don't know why they even bothered stuffing Rotom back in a pokedex and this time also a phone. Alola has the excuse that it was an experiment and prototype, Galar has no such excuse.
@@andresmarrero8666 maybe the Rotom Pokedex thing necame popular since the latest crowned champion had one (our player in Sun/Moon/USUM, Ash in the anime). Not to mention Professor Oak himself has a Rotom, so maybe he and Kukui collaborated on the widespread distribution of the Rotomdex...
I’m just disappointed that we never got Aether President Gladion showing up to interrogate the player about the Null and lead a small investigation against Macro Cosmos
It would be pretty dang cool if gladion was an easter egg in crown tundra, and can only be found if the player has completed all 3 pokedexes, including catching every shiny version.
In My opinion, silvally wasn’t properly fleshed out in Pokémon Sun and Moon and Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon and because of this, I wanted silvally to receive a mega evolution form in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. I mean, just imagine mega silvally, dope right ? silvally is a chimera legendary pokemon and mega silvally will be normal type, but it’s ability will boost all 18 types at once and silvally is one of My favorite legendary pokemons period. What a beastly chimera.
Type: Null becoming Sylvally hardly clasifies as an "Evolution". It is just breaking free of the mask Aether Foundation used to restraint their powers. Edit: a better example of Legendary Pokemon able to evolve would be the Cosmog line, Kubfu line and Meltan
well, when it breaks out of the mask, aspects of it change and it gets bigger, so i would say it's evolving from a failed experiment into a real creature tbh
But the notes clearly state that they just added a mask to limit Type: Full's power, and rename it Type: Null. What happens when it breaks the mask? It just becomes stronger and that's it. The effects of the mask are removed with it. The increased height I'm pretty sure is just due to it's crest being up (the mask had a metal piece holding it down) And the bright white parts that were previously gray might as well be just it's power flowing tru, symbolizing that the RKS System is working. Those are exactly the same parts that change color when holding a Memory, the white could just be because it is Normal Type (the Type most closely relatrd to plain white).
@@jvbon646 from what i've infered, type: full and silvally aren't the same whatsoever, also the body of silvally gets slightly larger? and it's fur changes from grey to white, not the like, translucent parts that change to the color of the type it is change to

My theory is that the People that run the league have a high investment in keeping the champions champs for a long time. To the point they willing to rig matches for Mustard. So what if they made Silvally for the next long reining champion. Its a tough as tails Pokémon and can make the user stronger. And we know the Charmin has sponsored a kid he saw with a fire in his gut. Bede, so what if he was planning on sponsoring multiple kids like Bede to eventually give them type null when they earned it so they can have a next long reining champ. Because these guys are useful. Leon can say anything and have Galar listen you can plaster his face on anything and sell it, and he fills up stadiums. So making champs like Leon and Mustard must be very very important to them.

Very interesting. I’ve been looking into Type: Null and Silvally, but I’m still looking into why they would need it in Galar. What you said about “giant slayer” was a bit I missed, so I thoroughly enjoyed this video :)
Michael Bristol not just that, but like all Ultra Beasts, Eternatus has a creepy and odd appearance. Which makes me believe that this isn't Eternatus original form. Maybe Eternatus looks bit different 3000 years ago, until it was defeated by Zacian and Zamazenta. Looking at Eternatus it's like skeleton like appearance with some kind of red jewel/shield.
The espionage thing is neat. I think something similar happened with Mewtwo's design notes. Although less corporate and more Black Market. Neat video by the by.

This ties well into my theory that Silvally will eventually evolve (over time) into an actual Arceus. And when the world ends, he will turn himself into an egg and restart the world. Thus making the Pokemon universe a paradox. It explains why God is a Pokemon. And why he can be captured.
Agreed mainly because Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are a thing now, so it’s highly possible. I’m going to buy Pokémon Brilliant Diamond.

That makes sense for Macro Cosmos wanting Silvally. I'm kind of surprised RKS Labs wasn't mentioned though, given Macro Cosmos pokéjobs were. It's possible that RKS Labs is somehow affiliated with Macro Cosmos and had a part to play in the espionage.
Yeah. A labratories named the exact same as the name for the Silvally/Type : Full/ Type : Null program? And the fact that there's beast balls in galar?
You know, Gamefreak shows more love to Gen 4 than most people give them credit for... sure, everyone remembers that you get a gift Kanto Starter, but seem to ignore that in Gen 6, you are also gifted a Lucario. Sure, Gen 7 had Kanto varients, but it also had the RKS system. And Gen 8 had the plates just looming around through out the region as easter eggs... Sure, Gen 1 got 2 remakes, but the original remake for it was older than Gen 4 and it was the only gen not playable on a modern console without virtual console. And it was Gen 1's anniversary (as well as Pokemon's anniversary) and it was a special event. Gen 4 seems to get a lot of love in every generation after it, ranging from Cynthia in Gen 5 to Easter Eggs in Gen 8... and you get the RKS post game as well... and tons of things that would remind 1 of Gen 4....

I have a theory that mudbray was found in the kanto but went extinct (according to the aloha podedex the once lived in other regions) and I believe it's extinction from kanto caused the creation of the safari z9ne
It could have been brought with the first settlers of aloha as it is based on donkeys and cold blooded horses which are domesticated animals. Also mud bray can be found in Galar.
Joseph Cunningham Fair, good point, but it still doesn’t have any connection to Kanto specifically and sorry if I’m being stupid but how would it’s extinction inspire the creation of the safari zone?
I don't get why people are ignoring the fact that "Macro Cosmos" just means multiverse. Like... dude's clearly a rival to the Aether Foundation, just as interested in Ultra Wormholes as they are. HIs brother has an Ultra Wormhole just chilling in his cave adventure lol

No, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Remakes are true all along, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are the Remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. So, DP Remakes are already confirmed and I’m getting Pokémon Brilliant Diamond in late 2021. And Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are going to be the best Pokémon Games ever made.
I really like your sponsor so, in this case, I'm glad you introduced them to me! It made me wonder (if you need video ideas), what kind of Pokemon Master would you be? Would you pick Snorlax as your partner or someone else? What moves would you, the trainer, have and which would Snorlax have? If you are feeling really bold, what would your catchphrases be for your trainer skills? I'd love to share mine but I'm still figuring most of that out.
It's possible that the third type null was the shiny sivally that pokemon distributed by in sm/us um as that one the original trainer is state as "aether"
I'd like to think so. Sköll are Hati are wolves from Norse mythology (Zacian/Zamazenta) said to chase the sun and moon (Solgaleo/lunala) I mean that's not proof or anything I just thought it was a cool coincidence or actual pokéfact plot 🤕
I always have a hard time justifying that Type: Null is a legendary. Similarly to Mewtwo, it was man-made and holds enormous power; so it makes complete sense. However, where is the challenge when encountering this legendary Pokemon? Type: Null is literally gifted to you in both SM and SwSh.
Since when did the challenge of getting a Pokemon determine if it's a legendary or not? Need I remind you that most box art legendaries have the same catch rate as an Eevee these days if they are part of the story...
@V-jes That more supports the argument of how unsatisfying legendaries are implemented in Pokemon games since Gen 5. No need to try an confuse people; 5 generations of Pokemon had the design of legendaries being hard to catch/find vs 3 that are practically gifted to you
Hey Toby, awesome work! This hypothesis (not theory) looks well put together and the evidence you’ve provided does point in the direction that Chairman Rose sent his employees to infiltrate the Aether Foundation to get a hold of the research to develop Silvally.
Wow, I've always wondered where the Sw/Sh events might fit into the timeline, and this actually the first time I heard someone point it out! With this explanation it is very, very likely that they must be set after the Alola games. Thank you, Toby!
Dragapult (Dragon/Ghost), Duraludon (Dragon/Steel) and Dracovish (Dragon/Water) are representations of the Creation Trio. Of course Type:Null will be there.
Let us not forget RKS Laboratories who has their own posts on PokéJobs or Gracia, the trainer you can encounter in the Battle Tower, who apparently works in the lab and even Klara who is sponsored by the company. Their logo looks a lot like Arceus' ring and they apparently do research on medicine and toxins.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who didn't know that Type:Null evolved into Silvally. I thought they were Pokemon that were related, but different, like Ninjask and Shedinja or Phione and Manaphy.
I love this, because even if it's not "canonically correct", or was never intended to be the case, it adds an extra layer of development and reason and myth to an already great story. After all, we interpret poetry and song lyrics all the time, but can't say for sure whether our understanding is what was intended. Great video, Toby. 👍
Also, when we look at the eternamax form of eternatus, it’s a giant hand. And Arceus’s Pokédex entry states that it created the universe with its “1000 arms” although it clearly has none. So maybe that could link in somehow.
This was great! I love theory stuff soooo much! I wish Pokemon would come out and tell us some real backstory stuff but I honestly think it’s all coincidence, and they just forget what they say in previous games and make more stuff up as they go along and they laugh at us and these vids 😂😂 great work!
I think that it may have been the scientest in the Dynamax adventure as Peonia says that the scientist is from alola, and the scientist was researching Necrozma - an ultra beast.
From what I think before the video, it's possible the founders of RKS labratories were the ones (or one) who originally worked on the Type:Full project in Aether who Faba took over the project from. Considering Aether being a Pokemon conservation program, they'd mainly have the samples and work actually creating the creature while their main contribution would be the RKS System. Once they got pulled off of the project and Faba got the credit for restraining it, it's likely their standing with Lusamine and Aether plummeted and so once the concept was proven by Gladion, they stole the notes for the creature and fled to Galar to make their own company. Then Chairman Rose could have bought from it or more likely absorb it into his conglomerate due to hoping Silvally would be able to aid his plans. (fighting super strong alien mons etc) It might even explain why they'd draw attention to themselves by calling themselves RKS Labratories. Since the Type:Full project was top secret and could draw attention to a lot of trouble that happened in Alola, They can call themselves RKS Labs to affirm themselves as the creators of Type:Null and Silvally with very little Aether can do about it. As a minor thing, the female scientist from there from the Battle Tower complains about her constant nights working and the antagonistic female Aether employees look constantly tired although that's a stretch.
I like the theory but Chairman Rose doesn´t want to get rid of dynamax/gigantamax pokemon. On the contrary, he wants to preserve the dynamax energy as much as possible since its a source of energy that is used for literally everything in the Galar region and that he provides through his many companies (including the hammerlocke power plant). My theory: I´m honestly more inclined to believe that Rose was interested specifically in type:null/silvally itself rather than Arceus (the fairy plate would be just the thing that made him came up with the idea of using type:null since the game seems to take place sometime after the evens of the gen 7 games. So by that point the events of the Alola region would be something known by at least someone like Rose.). My reasoning for it is also based on the fact that while it´s certainly possible for Type:Null to be some kind of plan B to defeat Eternatus, he already had Leon as the key element for that plan and was very insistent with Leon to get his cooperation for that specific plan since "the hero" was a huge element in Eternatus defeat (at least based on his incomplete/incorrect knowledge of the legend). Because of this, I think that Rose´s interest in Type:Null/Silvally can be tied instead to the evil looking galarian Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno from the crown tundra. Since they seem to be violent and are propense to fight each other around that tree that seems to be related to the dynamax/gigantamax phenomenon and to the dynamax energy that Rose tried to preserve in the region. So, Rose interest in type null It could be either to be able use type:null to get rid of the Galarian legendary birds for being a threat to Galar (a threat that Leon may not be able to handle since it would imply having Leon to fight alone 3 evil, probably stronger and violent legendary birds at the same time) or even more likely to get rid of them and that way also get access to the tree that has connections to the dynamax energy (that even Sonia seems to be investigating I may add) as a potential alternate source for the dynamax energy that he wanted to preserve in the region. And this would also make sense since the story in the isle of armor already established the existence of mushrooms (and honey from a tree) that allowed some pokemon to get the gmax factor and that (at least in-game) can also make them stronger in battle when used for a stat boost. Which would mean that pokemon like the galarian birds that spend a lot of their time near that tree (that a seems to a huge source of dynamax energy and probably a source for that kind of fruits as well) would be extremely powerful. Which would explain why they need a pokemon that specialized in fighting that kind of dangerous pokemon. After all, the secret branch of Macrocosmos, owned by Rose and directed by Oleana, is the one that takes care of the operations necessary for important plans like those that Rose has to ensure the protection and future of Galar (as was proven by how they ambushed Leon in his way to the dinner with Hop and the player for Rose´s last attemp on getting Leon´s cooperation peacefully for the plan related to Eternatus and probably also like how they got the information to create Type: Null in Galar that was necessary to the plan related to the galarian birds).
I personally think the “Power of Defeated Giants” of the Pixie Plate refers to the legendary dogs of Galar. They’re fairy types and they sure as hell aren’t in too good of a shape til you restore their forms
Wait a second... Sylvally and type: Null are artificial legendaries. Sinnoh remakes might be next, and the Team Galactic boss wanted to become a Deity... Will he attempt to fuse with them, maybe? Some sort of Sylvally/Type:Null-powered Red Chain _mail,_ perhaps?
I'd say something much simpler and also quite possible: Since Silvally is the ultimate killer of creatures from other worlds, Rose prepared one in case Eternatus would not obey him. Simply making the two fight, hoping that Silvally would be enough to weaken Eternatus and make him listen to Rose.
@@kerrywien6775 That's what I'm talking about. In case Eternatus disobeyed Rose, putting Galar in danger, Silvally could have planned for use to prevent Eternatus from creating chaos and make it obey him to save Galar's energy source.
@Bird Keeper Toby just out of curiosity are you ever going to do a video about why Eevee and some other Pokémon that evolve in a specific location had their evolution method change to evolving via evolution Stone in Sword and Shield?
The data for the Ultra Beasts was found in the code of the Crown Tundra DLC, so maybe the excess energy from the Raid Dens and the slumbering Eternatus created dimensional distortions that threatened to open portals from Ultra Space, so in preparation for this (much like Rose collecting wishing stones for the coming of Eternatus) the plans for Type Null were stolen as a kind of safeguard to prepare for the coming of the Ultra Beasts. OR Maybe Giovanni stole the plans during his takeover of Aether, and after the end of Rainbow Rocket he secretly met with Rose to give him the plans in return for monetary support for Team Neo Rainbow Uber Mega Rocket or whatever he’s planning next
Perhaps Chairman Rose wanted Silvally so that he could beat and capture Eternatus. This would then give him near monopoly over the usage of Dynamax and Gigantamax energy. It could also be that Eternatus is an evolved form for Naganadel, so Chairman Rose saw fit to utilize the services of the Pokemon designed to beat Ultra Beasts.
I mean it does kinda make sense to fight things from the Void or Eldritch beings that break reality , you need the reverse , something that renforces reality or something that creates the reality , so you see these eldrtich things flooding through a portal , you go look up and learn from the one thing that could stop it . In pokemon that would be Arceus or any one of the creation trio i suppose , though from the information the have i guess they went straight to the top .
"This is Ash Ketchum, and you just watched a video by Bird Keeper Toby! That makes YOU a Pokémon Master!" Kinda weird that on the episode sponsored by Pokémon Masters Ash doesn't call us Pokémon Masters.
Toby! Idk if this helps this theory or not, BUT, there's actually a Businessman trainer in the post game trainer tower that has a Silvally! Perhaps he was the spy! I forget what dialogue comes up when you face him though
Pokemon XY also had only 3 legendary pokemon besides the other 3 mythical. Then Alola had a lot. I think the first generation on a new console has few legendaries to get more "casual". So we can expect more legendaries for gen 9 on the Switch
I have a sneaking suspicion that silvally is connected to the Galar fossils. Maybe the missing halves were added up to make it. Also his non chaimira form was probably alolan/galarian absol....
I disagree that Rose's interest in Type Null was primarily for stopping the Darkest Day. -Macro Cosmos...essentially means "multiverse" -There's an Ultra Wormhole in the Dynamax Adventure cave -We can see Rose's equipment in that cave (the same equipment in Eternatus' room)...he knows Rose is a dude who is interested in the multiverse, broke into a facility where they were studying Ultra Wormholes, stole the creature they use to traverse those Ultra Wormholes, and seemingly runs a Dynamax Adventure where you can poke around an Ultra Wormhole So yeah. I think he's just picking up where Aether left off. If he wanted to deploy Type: Null during the Darkest Day... then just literally why didn't he? We saw the Darkest Day happen. Chairman Rose was there. No Type Null in sight.
Sorry to go on a rant, but pronouncing Silvally like valley is like nails on a chalkboard. It’s pronounced like ally, because the name is a combination of silver and ally. It’s not Silicon Valley. Look at its name in other languages: Silvady (Japanese, from silver and buddy), Amigento (German, from amigo and argentum), Ngàhnbuhjinsau (Cantonese Chinese, from silver, partner, fight, and beast), and Yinbànzhànshou (Mandarin Chinese, from silver, partner, fight, and beast). They even say ally in the anime. Other than that, I like the video lol
I thought that Silvally was a pretty alright Pokémon at first, then I had a deep dive into the history surrounding it and was taken back to a Mewtwo situation. But what happened to the third Type: Null is my ultimate question.
I'd like to think macro cosmos got their hands on a copy of a leaked blueprint and tried to create their own. As a way to compete against other research labs outside of galar for the benefit of galar.
