Problem with doing heavy haul is every state is different on their regs. It would be so much easier if the rules were uniform across the country.

Of course that is one of the biggest problems in the USA ; no uniform rules for different jobs ! Same problem in the medical field ; you move from one state to another your grade of doctor or nurse can change !!

What you are saying is that you want the federal government to control trucking completely. Not sure that is a good idea.

A good load broker load board can prevent overweight loads by getting correct load permits and best routing. It is still a good idea after loading a heavy load to drive to the nearest certified scale and get another permit to prevent the Highway Bandits from robbing you and hurting your driving record.

Your equipment is much more expensive than most trucks and trailers. You must command a higher rpm, regardless if it is a permitted load. Great videos!

$180 tax grab. That officer had the discretion to just give you a "warning" and ask you to lower the axle. I hate it when government workers go after a honest working man who is making a living. Have a safe trip Captain S. Glad the snowstorm here in KC was not as bad as forecast.

1000% correct regarding the required skill set for heavy loads. There are additional reasons that justify a higher rate but, no question, skills to haul heavy loads deserve more $$$. IMO.

Transporting things shaped like a brick is causing a bit damage to the fuel economy. Still under 10 liters per Swedish mile which is good for that load!

You have to read the current regulations for every jurisdiction...South Dakota says..."All axles must be on the ground when permitting for overweight load." For off Interstate in South Dakota you need a lift axle permit to legally lift it when making turns. Have to proofread every detail on every permit. They could of also fined you for operating with an invalid permit. Easy come, easy go...money flows like water. 8th direct is overdrive, 8th over is a second overdrive....7th over is direct gear---running loaded gear.

Sergei, I had to look it up, lol, the MPG's for a Canadian Leopard Tank are .830 mpg over roads and .532 mpg over terrain, so you're flyin' man!

Sergei, you should NOT be using diesel #2 in the winter especially when its very cold as it will gel much easier, always use diesel #1 in the winter as it is specifically blended for the winter.

So you paid for nine axles, and that was accepted and legal, but because you had ten you were fined for not running all ten? That is nothing but government theft from corrupt officers. They should have said just put down the tenth axel, not fine you. Working your truck so hard you need to consider that the milage as being doubled or tripled as far as wear and tear on the truck.

The tenth axles are part of the load safety equipment security-related; like spare tires, chains and binders. Sometimes needed and sometimes not needed. Right?

I once beat a ticket like that and got my $ back please post the pargraph that state that all axles must be on the ground I can tell whether or not they are correct in applying a fine to that load its related to syntax and language some of those guys are wrong wrong wrong and I didn't need a lawyer to prove

"All axles on the vehicle combination are required to be declared and used on all overweight permits." My permit shows NINE AXLES declared, and they saw I had TEN (the lift axle had to be declared and used).

Way back in the early 80's if we bought 100 gallons (i think it was 100g maybe a little more or less.) The fuel desk gave you a ticket for the buffet and a shower. Now all you get is a cup of coffee? Wow. Cheap ass bastards. Lol

Don't know about today, but a year ago when I retired the J and Love's were still giving a shower for a fuel fill. Buffet's are history.

Hey Sergei I was wondering if you run synthetic oil in your crankcase. Reason I ask is my buddy has been running synthetic since it came out. A friend of ours was a retired Detroit Diesel testing engineer and questioned him about disposing of the synthetic oil after he drained it. My buddy had just been disposing of it at a recycler. Our diesel friend told him to filter it through a screened funnel and put it in his fuel tanks and burn it. He’s been doing it ever since with no issues, the only other thing he does is to put in a quart of 30w regular motor oil for lubing his injection pump.

that bitter cold air is denser which creates resistance as you're driving through it. along with the wind they conspire to lower your fuel mileage. and...a strong wind can make a cold day that much more miserable...

Slow running fuel pumps? Try this remove handle from fuel tank, place on ground for the 10 seconds. This usually works at our fueling stations

what if you don't have a credit card and need to go to a bank to get cash to pay the fees ; then what ? You have to leave and come back to pay the fees or they have to take a check !
