When I came for the first time to ISKCON Salem in 2018, it was Sunday. Every Sunday most (Grhasthas, Brahmacharis and others) devotee came together and did the construction service, all of us were setting up bricks and putting cement to join them on the floor. I wanted to see who was Gokul Chandra Prabhu was because I had heard his audio lectures and have heard many things about him and I asked one devotee and he pointed to Gokul Prabhu. Gokul Prabhu was wearing a hat and was doing the same service with all other devotees and guiding other devotees. I was very much surprised and then this year in Gaura Purnima we were given service by Gokul Chandra Prabhu to mop the huge floor above Sankirtan Hall and we were four of us, Gokul Prabhu himself from the start to the end of service did service with us and was guiding us how to mop correctly. I was as surprised as I was back in 2018 when I first saw him. All glories to Gokul Chandra Prabhu.
That is a necessary but not sufficient condition for success. What is equally (if not more) important is that their Guru is following Srila Prabhupada properly - both in principles and details.
@@sridhara-syamadasa4577 it would be redundant to say that their guru must be following his predecessor acharya. How can one be called a Guru if he is not repeating the parampara message? When the word "Guru" is used, it's automatically understood that he is one who represents the sastras and parampara as it is. Otherwise the word Guru cannot be applied to such a person. Those who take the position of authority and focuses on gathering followers by giving self-concocted ideas that deviate from the predecessor acharya is identified by the term "Rascal". In my comment I used the term "Guru" and not "Rascal". For those who understand the full purport of the word "Guru", it is self explanatory of the qualification a Guru must possess.
