We’re discussing the surprising number of new streaming platforms in dirt late model racing following the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series season opener at Talladega Short Track.
I love FLO but it has lost so much dirt racing since they began streaming all the nascrap taxi car follow the leader junk. FLO bring back regional dirt late model racing!
I've had Flo since before HTF TV so I could watch the Joiners live most of the time. The main reasons I'm sticking with Flo is High Limit, Lucas Oil & they also cover my local asphalt track [Jennerstown]. The simple fact of the matter now is, with current economic conditions, I can't afford to do more than that. So I'll be content with watching the YT recaps and if y'all find yourselves at a Lucas Oil event, or at Eldora, those too. This is in no way a complaint, just an observation. For what I watch, Flo still gives me more bang for the buck.
Let's try to remember when the only way watch a race would involve driving there and paying an entry fee. Fortunately, today we have services like HTF TV that provide a months worth of races for nearly the same price. What an absolute privilege for the dirt late model community. Unfortunately, I'm broke and cant afford any streaming services so I can't imagine complaining. I don't even understand what the issue is, too many options? I wanna thank you guys for all the content especially the free stuff on youtube and even the stuff I can't afford yet. Like Johnathan said, that's on me lol. Keep it up guys, the future of dirt late models is looking brighter thanks to yall!
I miss the old MavTV, they used have all the Lucas Oil, WoO, Trophy Trucks, Rally Racing, random asphalt short track racing. I dropped all streaming services for the after show highlights on RU-vid..
I typically have Flo and then a few smaller ones. I tend to rotate through the smaller services based on what I’m interested in at a given time of the year.
I did not know that Flo had been the one to back away. We're still in the early stages of this business model. That being said I can't get every sub. I'd rather see you in person.
I live in a state that htf series isn’t coming out here. I am a htf fan. But I’ve also been a fan also Patreon long enough to know that Flo turned down htf. It’s not the series fault at all.
HTF TV won't be on Roku because Roku has decided to way overcharge private channels for access to Roku. Being a Speed Sport affiliate, HTF TV is considered a private channel. It's not that they don't want to be on there, it's Roku being greedy. That's why I switched to Firestick. All Speed Sport Affiliates are able to be seen on there.
Well, I had to cancel flo because I like the hunt front super dirt series and I understand yours is more than your brand new starting out so I understand that but the races I think are better on Hunt The Front TV than they are in flow but that’s just me. Glory to GOD!
There is too many regional series in some areas of the country. Look at the south, we have Hunt The Front, Southern All Stars, Ultimate Super Late Models, Carolina Clash Super Late Models, Florida Late Models and now Mideast Super Late Models has a new series, the region is over saturated, nobody can afford to pay for each series streaming service. Maybe a additional fee by each service will allow subscribers to watch a additional series of their choosing is the answer, at least it gives the fans options.
Why do the races have to run so late? Here in Canada with time zone differences it is crazy late. Understand time zones but races need better respect for paying fans not able to be there.
It's hard, if not almost impossible to race on dirt in the south before the sun goes down. The climate won't alow for the track to hold moisture while the sun's up. So really cant even start hotlaps until the sun is almost completely down. Starting in the daylight runs the risk of the track falling apart.
Because they tune the events for the racers, team members and fans that are buying a ticket in the grandstand, and not for someone watching from home, paying someone else. 👀
Because they run every stinking class they have when most just want to watch the super lat models. Couple of tracks have 4 different late model classes
@@chrisparker5758 because Supers are basically a travel series, not many tracks have weekly class Super. All our local tracks in the SE run 602/604 and Sportsman latemodels every week Race winnings for the lower classes is elevated when there's a Super show, more people in the grandstands You're gonna be shocked when some of these tracks start renegotiating their streaming rights. I know several tracks that signed those contracts early on when streaming took off, and it actually hurt them from not having people through the gate. I also understand the streaming side too, it's cheaper to sit at home and watch with a family, but remember the tracks don't make near off that subscription what everyone else does. Streaming prices will continue to a rise, no way around it.
Until they all get better with camera shots & angles. And the commentary & video get more on the same page. Some many times. The camera shows one thing & the announcers are talking about another. And neither one corrects it or gets on the same page. It’s horrible.
It dont have to be this way some way some how they should be able to get together an all make good money, it really makes it hard on the race fan to have to pay a crap ton of money every weekend, yea htf plan isn't a bad deal but if u gotta pay for 4 different ones I don't have the blue faces like that jeez it's kinda getting out of hand!!
The problem is now everyone wants their own streaming service for their stuff instead of consolidating. FLO isn't covering regional races because tracks and series got tired of the bad deals they were offered. Let's just say it out loud. Greed makes the rules
Streaming races is killing dirt racing due to the fact that the tracks are loosing big on grandstand and consessions money that most rely on to survive you are also not interducing any new younger fans to the sport to carry on the tradition.
I like watching hunt the front you're too far away for me to drive down there to watch any of the hunt the front racing series in being on a fixed income I can't afford to pay for your streaming service either so either way people like me are just screwed
Facts my friend everything cost alot of money everyone is in it for the money us on a fixed income have to wait till someone puts it out on utube for free. Stay safe 🙏
Lmao makes since you would try and explain this type of ring away because it benefits you all. You can make what ever excuse you want but we used to get a large number of races in one place for a subscription. It's only because all these smaller companies came undercut flo and took away thier ability to fund being able to go to all of the event. So yes now they wont be at all those other tracks but only because of this new business model that killed thiers has changed how things work.
Undercut FLO?? I remember when I got more races and insight from DirtonDirt until FLO bought them out and started cutting what we had access too. It sounds like FLO didn't want to carry the HTF Series so they had to look for another way. Credit these guys for trying to give you a way to watch their races without spending money on gas, food, hotel and tickets. Something we never had the ability to do years ago. LMAO
Flo has been cutting out lower watched series and tracks, not other services undercutting them. The Flo/DoD people straight up said that Flo is reducing their inventory. It sucks to not have a one-stop shop to watch any of it, but that's where we are. Pick what you can afford and move forward.
I'd be interested to see what your viewership would look like if you ran a weekend for free. I would be willing to bet you could sell more in ad revenue to make up for the lost money. Eyes on your product is more valuable than the $30 you're charging a month for people to watch. It's short sighted to charge and will stunt the growth of your product. Small companies will operate on a loss for a long time but it will more than make up for it in the end. Imagine if Facebook charged people monthly way back when it they first started. Their company wouldn't be worth anything close to what it is now. Sure in the short run charging people would've helped them keep the lights on, but you need to be looking out 5/10/15 years from now, not looking at the next 30 days.
@@jonathanjoiner56 As another streaming company using the same back-end, we can agree with Jonathan -- the idea of "ad sales" being enough to support these broadcasts is a pipe dream and a fantasy. Even cable television is subscription-driven and the ad sales are only about 15-20% of their total revenue.
Comparing dirt track viewers to Facebook users...LMAO!! Talk about a drop in the ocean. Not even close! Maybe they should just lose thousands of $$$ to make you happy?!?!
Don’t have HTF TV, Flo or any of them. I even stopped following y’all on YT. I pop in on occasion. The reason you may (or may not) ask is, I have watched almost from the beginning. And y’all have “Jesus Lives” on your spoiler. And the Lord has blessed y’all mightily. Yet y’all never, ever give Him even a little shout out. The Lord gives….and the Lord takes away. My .02
