Ok I'm documenting my potential steals and deals that may be available for the Packers. CB - Cooper DeJean, Khyree Jackson, Ranardo Green, Nehemiah Pritchett, Trey Taylor, Kamal Haddem. S.- T.J. Tampa converted to safety, Javon Bullard. LB - Edgerrin Cooper, Cedric Gray. David Ugwoegbu, Jackson Mitchell , Amari Gainer Edge - Brennean Jackson. D Tackle- T'Vondre Sweat, Gabe Hall. O Tackle- Brandon Coleman. R.B. Ray Davis, Dylan Laube, Blake Watson. WR- Jaxon Janke, Malik Washington. Some of these guys will go undrafted so they are potential steals in my opinion.

Right now - as much as we need run stopping help- protecting Jordan Love has to be number 1 priority- if Gute senses a can’t miss tackle(one he loves) then he trades up- the tackles have to fit the system - zone and pass blocking athlete. All of NFL is coming hard at QBs and stocking up on edges- LaFluer offense can help neutralize that but still - Protect Love!

I personally want them to trade back and get more picks. The first round is difficult to find players that are truly worth the 1st round pick. I think I heard that 4 out of 5 qbs taken in the 1st in 21' they are all being shuffled off to other teams for very low compensation. Better to go for later round dudes the Packers find lots of good Packers players. We do pretty good with 1st round generationally gifted qb talent but we don't need that from THIS draft. Trade back and lets try to BPA ourselves into a stacked team! Go Pack Go 🧀

I'm all for trading back PROVIDING....my personal favorites....such as the dBs Mitchel or Arnold, or dejean or Kool aid....or tackles such as guyton or Mims are off the board or....unobtainable....

The Green Bay Packers have built a young and exciting offense around emerging quarterback Jordan Love and now might aim to replicate that playbook on defense. Our General Manager Brian Gutekunst and the Packers took a big step towards making that a reality by signing top safety Xavier McKinney during free agency. Brian Gutekunst could be primed to add another building block into our new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s secondary. In ESPN’s latest mock draft projection, featuring selections projected by Mel Kiper Jr and Field Yates, Mel Kiper Jr projects the Packers will select Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean with the No.25 overall selection. Finally healthy, after suffering a broken leg last season, Cooper DeJean could be a perfect melding between value and need for the Packers with a top-25 selection. During 30 career games at Iowa, Cooper DeJean produced 120 tackles total with 5 tackles for a loss, 7 interceptions, returning 3 for touchdowns, and adding 13 pass breakups. Cooper DeJean’s positional versatility could make him a prototypical fit for Jeff Hafley’s 4-3 defensive scheme. As a rookie, Cooper DeJean could start immediately on the outside, opposite veteran Jaire Alexander, or move into the slot in matchup dependant situations. At 6-foot-1 and 2017 pounds, Cooper DeJean has potential to be a playmaker on defense while adding value as a return specialist thanks to his experience on special teams during his career in Iowa. Cooper DeJean was at his best playing off coverage zone at a high level. Cooper DeJean had excellent vision reading through the receiver to the quarterbacks and showed the plant, drive, quickness, and burst to play routes in front of him. As Pro Football Focus points out, Cooper DeJean has the potential to be a lockdown cornerback at the next level, as illustrated by opposing quarterbacks producing a meager 37.8 passer rating when targeting him during the 2023 season, 1 year removed from holding quarterbacks to a passer rating of just 49.7. The Packers' Defensive Backfield is one cover corner and one Free Safety from being elite, possibly the best in the league. I think it's viable to trade up for an elite lock down corner on the other side of the field then burn 2-3 mid-round picks to fill the ssfety spot through competition. It makes total sense to trade up to complete the total group.

If Gute feels like there is no one worthy at 25 aka over draft- he should definitely trade back. So much value on Day 2. A sweet spot is trading back to 32-36 range which can lead to 3 2nd round picks and 3 3rd round picks

The problem with "consensus" is that it's not a consensus of the 32 team draft boards, which there is no way for us to know. It's a consensus of media draft analysts who don't work for the teams and, despite their connections, don't really know what various teams think of individual players.

I like a lot of players in the 35 - 95 range. If he could get another 1st rounder for next year along with another pick in that 50-90 range that would be amazing.
