This is a topic that’s very hard to understand unless you have ocd, amazing stuff! Always appreciate your videos!

One of the best videos in a long time. Took me ages to realise rumination is a compulsion, am still learning it. And rumination as a way (or a by product is rumination) to avoid getting uncomfortable feelings. That is incredible. Thank you Kirsty for this Incredible revelation.

As far as I understand, there are a lot of mental compulsions involved with that. There are a few videos on mental compulsions on this channel by me, Kirsty and Rob.

From what i think , i guess the first step before taking a desicive decision to STOP RUMINTING is practicing SELF-ACCEptance for the worst case snearios , do you agree with that ?
@orsreha
@orsreha 3 года назад
Unconditional self acceptance , showing yourself that the worst case scenario isn't terrible in reality , you could still stand it and move on , and find a way to be happy even if it feels uncomfortable .

I feel like, when I try to accept my fears, the accepting become compulsive, rather reassuring, thoughts. How do avoid that?

It’s not something you are trying to force or do, it’s a gradual perspective shift.

@@OCDRecovery I understand. I also experience this intrusive feeling of "never getting over OCD". It's not even a thought, it's actually like a feeling of certainty that I'll never get over my situation. I picture myself in moments of the past where the rumination is strong (in yoga classes, on walks), and I feel so desperate and don't want to repeat those activities.
