Christ is clearly not your God, otherwise you would heed His voice in Deut. 12 when He said He will NOT accept false worship that is committed in His name. You don't understand the objections because you believe that your supposed desire to worship Christ gives you the right to do it however you want instead of doing it according to His instructions, like He also clearly said.

It’s always interesting to me to see the Hebrew roots/Torah observant comments on videos like this…. They are always combative and argumentative to any teaching other than their own. I have lived this for the past 7 or so years and it’s amazed me at how angry these people get…. This is not the way of Christ no matter what manipulative phrases you throw out…ever. Thank you for posting videos like this that help people caught In the crosshairs cope and grasp biblical reality….

Christmas should be: 1. A religious observance that lasts maybe a few days; and 2. A winter holiday especially for CHILDREN to enjoy, NOT a massive commercial season to guilt adults into buying gifts for everybody and for people who have no need of any material things.

Giving gifts is not about guilt. Yes do stores and commercial ism bennifit. Yes. Is that unfortunate yes. But your honestly telling me that a woman can't go by a gift of clothes or socks for her grand Children. As a emulation of the wise men giving gifts. Or even gods gift of his son. To the world. Or his gift of washing sins or people's feet. Giving gifts is wrong.? Now yes. It has been secularization. Yes Santa has gone far from his roots. Thanks coke. But that doesn't mean a thing Christ also said crash the symbols play new song. Christ owns the world all things come through him and for him.

The only Christian holiday is the Lord's Day, every Sunday, where we hear Christ proclaimed. If you want to celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday, go ahead, I think it's a nice secular holiday, but it's not a Christian holiday since it's not in scripture at all, and it's not a sacrament, so it has no place being a part of worship. Just because some Pope in the 8th century created the holiday doesn't make it Christian either, we in fact had a whole reformation about these very issues a few hundred years ago.

@@greg.madison Sunday is NOT the Lord's Day. Christ very clearly stated that _the Sabbath_ is His day(Mar. 2:28), and that has never changed since He created it. My wife and I were raised in a Torah Hebrew roots church from ages 15 up until now 25. God separated me from this church and finally got through to me. I Really appreciate this study, as a former Torah observer or Hebrews roots member. One of the things I noticed taken out of context was most of the new covenant. God separated me and my wife from our former church of 9 years and immediately after he told me and my wife to learn of him from the new covenant and not the old. Both are very beautiful and very knowledgeable and the Torah is perfect, but it could never bring perfection. I also agree most of what I’m reading in the new covenant Paul is speaking mainly about the Jewish sabbaths, holidays, and traditions of the Old Testament. Especially in versus like . “If, then, you died with Messiah from the elementary matters of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to dogmas: “Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle” - which are all to perish with use - according to the commands and teachings of men?” ‭‭Qolasim (Colossians)‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬-‭22‬ ‭TS2009‬‬ Which this is taught in the Torah. Messiah himself said ““There is no matter that enters a man from outside which is able to defile him, but it is what comes out of him that defiles the man.” ‭‭Marqos (Mark)‬ ‭7‬:‭15‬ ‭TS2009‬‬ A lot of Hebrew roots would argue about eating unclean meats… and fail to realize that there is no more unclean anything. Pertaining to things outside the body that don’t come from the heart. A lot of what I learned growing up in a Hebrews roots setting from ages of 15 to now 25. Iv learned that a lot of it requires taking so much of the new covenant out of context… One of the biggest things I noticed about the new covenant is how straight forward and concrete it is about not going under the old law. “For in Messiah יהושע neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any strength, but belief working through love. You were running well, who held you back from obeying the truth? That persuasion does not come from Him who calls you. A little leaven leavens all the lump. I trust in you, in the Master, that you shall have no other mind. And he who is troubling you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.” ‭‭Galatiyim (Galatians)‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬-‭10‬ ‭TS2009‬‬ I don’t even believe that Yeshua will lead any believer back to the old law in a sense of justification and I believe this because of the scripture speaking so heavily against it. “Say to me, you who wish to be under Torah, do you not hear the Torah?” ‭‭Galatiyim (Galatians)‬ ‭4‬:‭21‬ ‭TS2009‬‬

So, for freedom you have been set free. To what end? To serve your own desires and hedonistic pleasure? Has the law itself become evil? So that only when I fall into my sin with great abandon (so that grace might abound even more) does the new covenant truly reach its purpose - by saving me whereas my own works cannot? You quote me the scripture where Paul deals with this EXACT contention that people were making, at his time and by misinterpreting his teaching, and you'll see from HIS argument that the law hasn't been abolished. We ALL have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling before God. In this process we draw lines as to what we do and don't allow ourselves to indulge in. The Spirit was given to guide and teach us in these matters. Where it does not matter, we take the liberties granted. Like, laws pertaining to slavery, wearing of clothes of mixed fabric, eating or not eating certain foods, keeping of the Sabbath or other Holy days God commanded, taking what does not belong to us, same sex relationships, torturing children for or own gratification.... Yes, that progressed quickly, and on purpose. The point is that you draw a line somewhere, we all do. Where you do, there your observance of the law starts. But keeping a few laws about days and foods and such is easy. Obeying the Messiah in loving God and your neighbour, pursuing God in a living relationship, serving others, these things are hard. Today's church cannot discern the things true religion is about, because it is sold on the American dream of the pursuit of happiness, self fulfilment and instant material gratification. That has nothing to do with righteousness. Show me your faith without works, and I'll show you my faith through my works.
@MrGaines
@MrGaines 10 месяцев назад
@@deniss2 don’t take the scriptures out of context. What was the works he was talking about here? Was it works of the law or works of Christ… here let me show you. “Do they not blaspheme that good Name by which you are called? If you truly accomplish the sovereign law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbour as yourself,” you do well, but if you show partiality, you commit sin, being found guilty by the Torah as transgressors. For whoever shall guard all the Torah, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of Torah. So speak and so do as those who are to be judged by a Torah of freedom. For the judgment is without compassion to the one who has shown no compassion. And compassion boasts over judgment. My brothers, what use is it for anyone to say he has belief but does not have works? This belief is unable to save him. And if a brother or sister is naked and in need of daily food, but one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” but you do not give them the bodily needs, what use is it? So also belief, if it does not have works, is in itself dead. But someone might say, “You have belief, and I have works.” Show me your belief without your works, and I shall show you my belief by my works. You believe that Elohim is one. You do well. The demons also believe - and shudder! But do you wish to know, O foolish man, that the belief without the works is dead? Was not Aḇraham our father declared right by works when he offered Yitsḥaq his son on the slaughter-place? Do you see that the belief was working with his works, and by the works the belief was perfected? And the Scripture was filled which says, “Aḇraham believed Elohim, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.” And He called him, “he who loves Elohim.” You see, then, that a man is declared right by works, and not by belief alone. In the same way, was not Raḥaḇ the whore also declared right by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so also the belief is dead without the works.” ‭‭Ya‛aqoḇ (James)‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬-‭26‬ ‭TS2009‬‬ The Faith by works is the love we show one another through Christ because our faith is in him and the evidence or works that we belong to Christ. Is the love we show one another. The Torah is not of faith….. “And that no one is declared right by Torah before Elohim is clear, for “The righteous shall live by belief.” And the Torah is not of belief, but “The man who does them shall live by them.” Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the Torah, having become a curse for us - for it has been written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs upon a tree.” - in order that the blessing of Aḇraham might come upon the nations in Messiah יהושע, to receive the promise of the Spirit through belief.” ‭‭Galatiyim (Galatians)‬ ‭3‬:‭11‬-‭14‬ ‭TS2009‬‬ Please stop coming at me with feelings. I don’t care what man feels is right… I only care about what the word says and btw, messiah told us what is acceptable and not acceptable :). Listen to your messiah.
@MrGaines
@MrGaines 10 месяцев назад
@@deniss2 also, the Torah of Moses was abolished…. So that the Torah of messiah could take over. “having abolished in His flesh the enmity - the torah of the commands in dogma - so as to create in Himself one renewed man from the two, thus making peace, and to completely restore to favour both of them unto Elohim in one body through the stake, having destroyed the enmity by it.” ‭‭Eph`siyim (Ephesians)‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭TS2009‬‬ “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having blotted out that which was written by hand against us - by the dogmas - which stood against us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the stake.” ‭‭Qolasim (Colossians)‬ ‭2‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭TS2009‬‬ “So my brothers, you also were put to death to the Torah through the body of Messiah, for you to become another’s, the One who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to Elohim. For when we were in the flesh, the passions of sins, through the Torah, were working in our members to bear fruit to death. But now we have been released from the Torah, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in newness of Spirit and not in oldness of letter. What, then, shall we say? Is the Torah sin? Let it not be! However, I did not know sin except through the Torah. For also the covetousness I knew not if the Torah had not said, “You shall not covet.” But sin, having taken the occasion through the command, did work in me all sorts of covetousness. For apart from Torah sin is dead. And I was alive apart from the Torah once, but when the command came, the sin revived, and I died. And the command which was to result in life, this I found to result in death.” ‭‭Romiyim (Romans)‬ ‭7‬:‭4‬-‭10‬ ‭TS2009‬‬ ““And if, while seeking to be declared right by Messiah, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Messiah then a servant of sin? Let it not be! “For if I rebuild what I once overthrew, I establish myself a transgressor. “For through Torah I died to Torah, in order to live to Elohim.” ‭‭Galatiyim (Galatians)‬ ‭2‬:‭17‬-‭19‬ ‭TS2009‬‬

Christmas is a Pagan Solctice so why celebrate it? Pre-Christian Celebrations (Before 4th Century CE): Various cultures held winter solstice festivals to mark the shortest day of the year. These celebrations included feasting, lighting candles, and other rituals to welcome the return of longer days and the sun's rebirth. Examples include Saturnalia in Rome and Yule among Germanic peoples. 4th Century CE: The exact date of Jesus's birth was not recorded in early Christian texts. In the 4th century, Pope Julius I declared December 25th as the date to celebrate the birth of Jesus, possibly to align with existing pagan festivals and facilitate the spread of Christianity. Medieval Period: Christmas celebrations evolved with a mix of Christian traditions and remnants of pagan customs. Feasting, caroling, and charitable acts became part of the holiday. Reformation and Puritan Period: In the 16th and 17th centuries, some Protestant groups, particularly Puritans in England and later in America, opposed the celebration of Christmas due to its pagan associations and lack of biblical basis. Christmas was banned in parts of England for a period. 19th Century: Christmas regained popularity during the Victorian era in Britain. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert popularized traditions such as Christmas trees and exchanging gifts. Charles Dickens's "A Christmas Carol" also contributed to the revival of Christmas as a time for generosity and family gatherings. 20th Century: Christmas became a widely celebrated holiday across various cultures and religions, embraced for its themes of goodwill and generosity. Commercialization led to the popularization of Santa Claus and the commercial aspect of gift-giving. Throughout these centuries, Christmas evolved, blending religious, cultural, and secular elements into the celebration we know today. Its roots in both Christian and pagan traditions have contributed to the diverse customs and practices observed during the holiday season in different parts of the world.

Actually the history shows that Hippolytus of Rome calculated the time where Gabriel visited Mary and then counted nine months forward to land at December 25. This calculation was as early as roughly the year, 200 maybe 210.. which is why, the pagans didn’t move their God’s dates to December 25 until post 354 after Christmas had already been calculated by Christians and the celebrations were already happening ❤

Yes, Sextus Julius Africaunus (a contemporary of Hippolytus) also calculated His conception as being around March 25th. Nine months later is December 25th. No pagan holiday appropriation necessary! Not to mention that the early church fathers would never have thought of mixing paganism into their holidays! They would rather die than say " Caesar is lord," let alone mix in pagan traditions to their worship of God.

I don't think you make a good case about Christmas' pagan associations. Why does one need a decorated evergreen tree to celebrate a birthday? That's not our custom for other birthdays. Why exchange gifts instead of giving gifts to worthy Christian causes? Why the need for a santa claus and the lies to children? And why celebrate His birthday during a pagan season when we know He was born either in the spring or fall? Likewise, why do we celebrate His resurrection with a festival named after a pagan goddess (Easter)? And do bunny rabbits and easter eggs reflect on the resurrection or on fertility? These pagan connection are dubious. I think Jesus frowns on them as much as He condemned the nicolaitans and the doctrine of Balaam in Rev 2 & 3. He is judging His church on these things!

I have shared this on my Facebook media, because it speaks so clearly about truths that will calm the unnecessary fears of ''accidental pagan worship'' that some believers fall prey to. The earth is indeed the Lord's, and we have all the reason to celebrate the gift of Jesus!

I love you, brother, and I love Jesus even more! He saved me from paganism and witchcraft few months ago. Praise the Lord!!!! I get your points. As an ex-witch I personally would not celebrate Jesus' birth on that date nor would I recommend anyone doing it... In my pagan past when I used to worship the sun I was deliberately making fun of Christians for stealing a pagan holiday to make it their own without being aware that it's the solstice actually and is inherently pagan considering all other details such as decorations and rituals, especially in my country. It's a well know joke in the pagan community and every witch smirks at Christians celebrating Christmas. Everything is soo pagan here. And you said in the video that the Church did exactly that with the intention to shift the focus of the masses towards Christ. But what happened was that the pagans were allowed to keep their pagan stuff around just label it as "Christian". It was a compromise. And I wouldn't say the pope's original intent was successful at all. Just look around. It's very dangerous to say "it's important where you set your intentions and heart"... No... Imagine "re-claiming" yoga and doing it with all of your heart set on Jesus. It's not gonna work. If the root is pagan, it is paganism, meaning satanism. For the note, I'm not Torah-observing, nor Adventist, not JW. I try to be rooted in the Bible as much as possible. We don't know when Jesus was born. Some researchers say it took place in April/May. I'd love to celebrate His birthday, the miracle of the Infinite God taking flesh to be with us and eventually save us ❤️ I personally don't choose to do it on that date... I acknowledge it however as a good opportunity to share the gospel as people are a bit more open for Christ during that time of the year. If someone can be saved that's the most important thing 🙏 Be blessed all of you, my brothers and sisters 💖

The "church" he is talking about is/was the catholic church that Jesus didn't start amd hates because they re-sacrifice Jesus every week. That is the problem, celebrating a man-made holy day, holiday in Jesus' name. Why don't people understand that, not to celebrate things, but not in place of Jesus, that means birthdays as well. I love how he puts 7th days and jehovahs in there lol, the old covenant has nothing to do with this trash. I mean if christ mass is about Jesus then why aren't people defending it when non Christians celebrate it? Its for everyone, muslims love it because its the worlds.

Thank you for this video. I recently had a good friend this past Christmas try to spread the narrative that Christmas is a pagon holiday and he will no longer celebrate even to go as far as being angry when we called on his hypocrisy for hosting a Christmas party. This call of his and others to in a sense cancel Christmas felt much more evil than celebrating. I knew I had to do my own research to challenge his argument and my conclusion is true. We spread the love of our god and his son whatever day we feel and will let no evil have even one day of celebration.

I don't agree with you on this. Christ is a man made festival. Birthdays are not celebrated because of christ. Jesus was not born on 25th December. Questions, did Jesus celebrate his birthday. Did the Christian in the first century celebrate the birth of Christ? There's no example of the Apostles of christ celebrating christ in the church.

God said to not worship him “the way that the pagans do.” I loved Christmas till I saw that I was celebrating the same way the pagans celebrate. “Do not worship the Lord your God in the way these pagan peoples worship their gods.” Duet 12:4 When I saw that I put up the same tree in worship to my God as the atheist neighbor, I was like “wow what am I doing?” He does not want all that stuff he wants our hearts. When I am doing the same thing as the pagans as an act of worship to God, is that ok? I mean I am literally celebrating on the exact same day with the exact same traditions except I might throw in a visit to church. I just found it to be so empty. The feast days we eat like the pagans. But none of the pagans are celebrating it -not the way that I am. We are not putting up huge trees but we do gather together with other believers. Not coworkers that could care less about Jesus. I don’t know that Jesus wanted to be celebrated that way and I don’t know how to separate from that. And so many see there is nothing wrong with it. Christmas in itself is fine as long as you remove the worship of God in it. He doesn’t want to be worshipped the way the pagans worship.

1. Quoting Timothy Keller to support the celebration. 2. Solomon used pagan materials to build the temple. That's a stretch. The wood from a pagan nation isn't pagan just because it's in that nation. Solomon didn't put pagan things in the temple. 3. Your defense of the pagan Christmas social customs is using other social customs: birthdays, retirement parties, etc. Those are also Biblically questionable, because they are vain and pagan. 3. You admit that the Pope chose the date to commandeer pagans. God commands against this in Deuteronomy 12. Even if the goal was to convert them and influence them to start celebrating the feast of Nativity, the opposite happened. The pagans crashed the church party with all of their customs.

What’s interesting to me is that the same people who don’t celebrate Christmas, to each is own, attend a church that practices many man made traditions that are not biblical. No such thing as Sunday school, or praise and worship pastor, the music/ band type of entertainment on stage, woman who preach, tithing and the list goes on. Point being is, are we being legalistic or inconsistent in what we decide to follow through with? If Christmas isn’t biblical, that what about Mother’s/fathers day, birthdays, anniversaries etc. Just a thought. I’m searching for the truth and not a version of it.

Jeremiah 23:16-40 Jeremiah 23:16-40 AMPC Thus says the Lord of hosts: Do not listen to the words of the [false] prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity (emptiness, falsity, and futility) and fill you with vain hopes; they speak a vision of their own minds and not from the mouth of the Lord. They are continually saying to those who despise Me and the word of the Lord, The Lord has said: You shall have peace; and they say to everyone who walks after the stubbornness of his own mind and heart, No evil shall come upon you. For who among them has stood in the council of the Lord, that he should perceive and hear His word? Who has marked His word [noticing and observing and giving attention to it] and has [actually] heard it? Behold, the tempest of the Lord has gone forth in wrath, a whirling tempest; it shall whirl and burst upon the heads of the wicked. The anger of the Lord shall not turn back until He has executed and accomplished the thoughts and intents of His mind and heart. In the latter days you shall consider and understand it perfectly. I did not send these [false] prophets, yet they ran; I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in My council, then they would have caused My people to hear My words, then they would have turned them [My people] from their evil way and from the evil of their doings. Am I a God at hand, says the Lord, and not a God afar off? Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? says the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? says the Lord. I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed [visions on my bed at night]. [How long shall this state of things continue?] How long yet shall it be in the minds of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, even the prophets of the deceit of their own hearts, Who think that they can cause My people to forget My name by their dreams which every man tells to his neighbor, just as their fathers forgot My name because of Baal? The prophet who has a dream, let him tell his dream; but he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat [for nourishment]? says the Lord. Is not My word like fire [that consumes all that cannot endure the test]? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [of most stubborn resistance]? Therefore behold, I am against the [false] prophets, says the Lord, [I am even now descending upon them with punishment, these prophets] who steal My words from one another [imitating the phrases of the true prophets]. Behold, I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who use their [own deceitful] tongues and say, Thus says the Lord. Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, says the Lord, and tell them and cause My people to err and go astray by their lies and by their vain boasting and recklessness-when I did not send them or command them; nor do they profit these people at all, says the Lord. And when these people, or a prophet or a priest, ask you, What is the burden of the Lord [the thing to be lifted up now]? then you shall say to them, What burden [indeed]! [You are the burden!] And I will disburden Myself of you and I will cast you off, says the Lord. And as for the prophet, the priest, or [any of these] the people, whoever [in mockery calls the word of the Lord a burden and] says, The burden of the Lord, I will even visit in wrath and punish that man and his house. [For the future, in speaking of the utterances of the Lord] thus shall you say every one to his neighbor and every one to his brother: What has the Lord answered? or, What has the Lord spoken? But the burden of the Lord you must mention no more, for every man's burden is his own response and word [for as they mockingly call all prophecies burdens, whether good or bad, so will it prove to be to them; God will take them at their own word]; for you pervert the words [not of a lifeless idol, but] of the living God, the Lord of hosts, our God! Thus shall you [reverently] say to the prophet: What has the Lord answered you? Or, What has the Lord spoken? But if you say, The burden of the Lord, therefore thus says the Lord: Because you said these words, The burden of the Lord, when I sent to you, saying, You shall not say, The burden of the Lord, Therefore behold, I, even I, will assuredly take you up and cast you away from My presence, you and the city [Jerusalem] which I gave to you and to your fathers. Deut. 12 clearly says not to worship Yahweh the way that nations worship their gods. I see no difference in how most Christians seem to keep Christmas and how the world keeps it. Both decorate their homes with idols, false nativity scenes, (Yeshua was not an infant when visited by the wise men), and participate in the materialistic nature of the day. Perhaps most Christians don't partake in the drunkeness and sexual perversion that accompanies the day. However, the fact that these are taking place under the guise of "tis the season" should be enough evidence that it is a day meant to mock Yeshua. True believers need to come out of this and seek the plain truth of scripture. Remember, Yeshua thanked the Father for revealing the truth to ordinary folks, not the sophisticated. The heart of a child who wants to please His Father through obeying his commands is worth far more than being a trained theologian.

These sane people defend the keeping of Christmas? Which ACTUALLY has pagan roots? Isn't this discarding the commandments of God for the traditions of men? Personally, I will NOT keep this holiday. BUT I find NO problem with worshipping Yeshua, my Saviour, at any time. I DO keep the so called Jewish holidays, because they refer to things God ACTUALLY wanted us to remember - both in the old covenant AND in the new covenant fulfilment! And you condemn that view? Imagine observing the shadow, and not the substance...insane!
@deniss2
@deniss2 10 месяцев назад
@@billyhw5492 You'll have to explain what you mean by that, because there are a few ways to interpret what you are saying. For instance (and these are only two possibilities): A. You could mean that the Old Testament law and feasts are the shadow. - in that case, I'd say that God gave these "shadows" to point to the presence of the substance. I don't observe laws or feasts to gain righteousness, but because they cast a great outline in their shadow by which the substance can be better understood. After all, Yeshua (the living Word) does not at the moment walk with us bodily, but the Spirit does cast the light by which we can interpret the shadow of the scripture. Also, even Yeshua was said to be the exact "representation", the reflection of father Yahwe bodily in the flesh. Father (Abba) is the substance and the glory. And yes, I know you are going to point to the grace by faith and not by works as the substance, but show me your faith without works, and I'll show you my faith by my works. Faith is a catalyst towards works, don't you understand that faith without works is dead? B. You could mean that Christmas is a shadow while the biblical feasts are the substance. Well, I don't blame those who keep this feast on the grounds of remembering that God became flesh and lived among us; but it really isn't even a shadow of anything. It is a made up holiday, on the wrong date, with a plethora of practices that didn't originate on biblical grounds and were bent and twisted to fit. At the very best, the meanings attached, by those who ARE well meaning, are object lessons - like parables and Sunday school classes, and only loosely related to the biblical message. I don't find such compelling as evidence for anything. I won't say that these people will not go to heaven, just as I won't say that people who get tattoos or smoke won't go to heaven. But, if this is the extent of their belief and understanding and worship of God, they are on shaky ground. And do understand that many go to church once a year, on Christmas, and they do not understand that singing of Christmas carols and hymns are not worship, but that worship is a sacrifice of your life, dedicated to a living God in relationship - THAT is the substance. Lastly, I would say that keeping a few laws are the easy part. Doing what Yeshua requires, obeying him and living in love all the time, to God and your neighbour (including those who hate you and despitefully use you), THAT is the difficult part, and what is most often neglected. The straight and narrow path is not followed by many, and we ALL stray from it. But those persisting wilfully on the wide path should not think that this leads to anything but ruin.

Charles H. Spurgeon on Christmass We have no superstitious regard for times and seasons. Certainly, we do not believe in the present ecclesiastical arrangement called Christmas: first, because we do not believe in the mass at all, but abhor it, whether it be said or sung in Latin or in English; and, secondly, because we find no Scriptural warrant whatever for observing any day as the birthday of the Saviour; and, consequently, its observance is a superstition, because not of divine authority. Superstition has fixed most positively the day of our Saviour's birth, although there is no possibility of discovering when it occured. Fabricius gives a catalogue of 136 different learned opinions upon the matter; and various divines invent weighty arguments for advocating a date in every month of the year. It was not till the middle of the third century that any part of the church celebrated the nativity of our Lord, and it was not till very long after the Western church had set the example that the Eastern adopted it. Because the day is not known, therefore superstition has fixed it; while, since the death of our Saviour might be determined with much certainty, therefore superstition shifts the date of its observance every year. Where is the method in the madness of the superstitious? Probably the fact is that the holy days were arranged to fit in with the heathen festivals. We venture to assert, that if there be any day in the year, of which we may be pretty sure that it was not the day on which the Saviour was born, it is the twenty-fifth of December. From a sermon delivered on the Lord's Day morning, 24th December, 1871 at the Metropolitan Tabernacle, Newington, London

True Worship is from the heart and Christmas should be exactly that, remembering and celebrating the birth of our Saviour. If we want to be technical... we are the most pagan part of Christmas because our hearts were far from Him, full of the most vile and sinful things. Yet, this birth, that angels longed to see and did with amazing celebration, proclaimed Peace on earth and Good Will to all men. Our salvation has come!

True worship is not from the heart. As Christ told the Samaritan woman in Jhn 4, true worship comes from worshiping God _His_ way. The Samaritans all worshiped from their heart, and Christ told her to her face that her and the rest of the Samaritans spent their lives worshiping false gods.

This video is well done. I’m not a fan of Christmas. The evidence for it being pagan is thin. My issue with Christmas is my same issue with Halloween. It’s a made up holiday that the church has pushed in the past. It is celebrated by people who are non- Christians and Christians alike. The fact that there is little to no difference between the people who celebrate it regardless of their faith. If it was devoid of the commercialism and just a time for families to get together and eat and fellowship. I’d probably have no problem with it. But it’s treated as all about the gifts regardless of what people say. I dont think it’s totally pagan. But it in my opinion is already no longer about HIS coming, and now all about stuff.

The evidence for the position of Christmas being pagan isn't thin. You're just suffering from cognitive dissonance. Aside from the obvious facts of history, God went through the trouble of having Jeremiah describe what the heathens did on this day, and it 100% matches the customs that are practiced today. For crying out loud, archaeologists have found nativity scenes that predates the time of Christ.
@12th_C
@12th_C 10 месяцев назад
@@theeternalsbeliever1779 if you’re referring to Jeremiah 10 it’s more likely referring to a bail or asthroth pole (spelling incorrect) due to the context of verses 3-5 refer to a craftsman, and that the tree can not speak (implying it has a face and mouth) An argument could be made about the golden calf having similar implications as a Christmas tree (worshipping YHWH the way you want to instead of the ways he proscribes) however that argument isn’t a perfect example. It’s good enough to make a point. But i wont use it to completely hang my dislike for Christmas. If there is another passage in Jeremiah that is more fitting to rejecting Christmas, please let me know. Always like deep dive studies. As far as nativity sets that predate THE MESSIAH, I’ll have to research that further. It’s a topic I’m not very familiar with at the moment. Personally not a fan of Christmas

Possibly long before the Mithras religion became more popular in the Roman Empire. Nowhere do they reference another religion but they made calculations based on scriptural facts. And * Saturnalia was dec 17th, finished dec 20 or 21th so before the 25th. * Winter solstice is actually dec 21th (Romans calulated this wrong) * giving christmas gifts is more an modern American tradition then ancient pagan custom.

When you start saying: honestly, I also say honestly...Christmas is not in the bible. What you are doing is "Christianizing" the event of the true birth of Jesus into the so called Christmas. You are wrong the word "Christmas" is not in the bible. When you studying deep about history you find enough truth, that much of the symbolism and traditional celebration is a lot of paganism. If you mention old testament principles in your teaching, then you can't deny that in Jeremiah 10 God warns of idols. A lot of people say it's legalism if something what is mentioned in OT, but the new testament mentioned the OT as a schoolmaster, and the OT is full of prophecies about Jesus Christ, for example Isaiah 53. When I became born-again and baptized with the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit gave me enough warnings and guidance how to live. I like much the behavior of first Christians, for example Acts 19 V 19 : ALSO, MANY OF THOSE WHO HAD PRACTICED MAGIC BROUGHT THEIR BOOKS TOGETHER AND BURNED THEM IN THE SIGHT OF ALL. These new believers were set of serious pagan tradition and demons, they cut off their connections which held them in bondage. Here it is the opposite of, here it will be motivated to ignore the part of pagan tradition, but still holding on the symbols of pagan. For what I write in here I am accountable for what I say and you are accountable for your teaching. By the way I am not in Jehovah Witness or other religions denomination. I live according to the new covenant and the principles of Jesus Christ's teaching. Everyone giving you thumbs up are glad you motivate their desires.

Sadly, there are many people who prepare for Christmas starting July. How they’re going to decorate their houses, how every one of their kids are going to have a tree and their room what they’re going to cook, and bake and put on parties. A lot of these people that I know personally do not even have a relationship with Christ. When Christmas becomes an idol just like anything else it is a wrong practice. But even nonbelievers in Christ these days celebrate Christmas. They call it Xmas. The introduction of Santa Claus to children as the end all deliverer, meeting all their needs under the tree is sinful. They begin to look at God as some kind of a Santa Claus who needs to be there to meet their needs. I believe God hates mixture, and when we have mixed the truth of his word with fantasy , it’s a dangerous practice. I personally love the beautiful Christmas worship music, the Christmas story and the Christmas season, but I hate all the commercialism, where they have made a business out of the greatest miracle and the greatest gift that God gave to us.

No one in the New Testament celebrated His birthday. The apostles did not, the church did not from its founding up until 400 years later. One can reason that if God wanted us to celebrate Christ’s birthday, He would have revealed the very hour of the day, the details of His birth, given us a command to celebrate, and instructions on how to celebrate, the latter which He did for all biblical holy days or feast days as indicated in the Bible. This renders Christmas merely a tradition of men, of which the church is commanded to steer clear-Mathew 15:9, Mark 7:13, 2 Thessalonians 2:15 Further, God detests even a hint at paganism (Deuteronomy 7:25, 2 Corinthians 6:6-17), and Israel suffered terribly, suffered God's wrath for engaging in anything to do with it. Or One Kinky Communion? Because Christmas is of the world, and genuine holy days or rituals, commanded to be observed by God, are not. The holiday itself teaches greed, hedonism and selfishness to children, as the behavior that feeds these can be seen everywhere at Christmas. We are inundated with it. Poor families and children who suffer daily for want are often only considered by the population at large at Christmas. Further, their lacking is magnified on this day, so that they even view themselves as worse off at Christmas than the days before or after. All of this and more define Christmas, and with sincere consideration how can there be any doubt that God not only disapproves, but that He finds these things to be abominable. For those who would argue that they make the holiday all about Jesus, this must be considered: The few who do are swallowed up by those who don’t. This is probably one of the worst arguments against Christmas being pagan. This just reaffirmed more to me that Christmas is pagan. One thing you didn't acknowledge was Duet 12:4 where God said not to worship me like the pagans. Christmas predates Christianity and it's documented that the Catholic church knew it was worship to pagan gods when they made it a religious holiday (holy day). The Catholic church STOLE Christmas b/c it was a popular pagan celebration and they wanted to grow their membership and MONEY. They INTENTIONALLY acted out of defiance to God. And maybe God didn't give us the date of Jesus birth b/c it's insignificant so why are you celebrating it?

The point I made was that the Council of Nicaea were aware of the date they selected, but they selected it all the same. The Church made Christ’s birth a holiday later. Catholicism wholistic and Christ restored all back to God and to us. Catholicism was founded by the apostles, and Christ gave the Church to give it power to bind and loosen. So the Church was totally within Christ to establish Christmas as a feast to celebrate the feast of the Child and all children in general because in part, we must become as little children to enter heaven, to put all our trust in Christ and His mercy. St Francis of Assisi created a nativity, or procipio, and invited villagers to come up to his cave to honor Baby Jesus, and they would come up one at a time to kiss the statue. In Italy, Christmas is celebrated at Mass and obligatory. The family has Christmas dinner, usially chicken. The children write letters to their parents telling them how thankful they are to them. Publicly, the emphasis is on nativity scenes, some use of Christmas trees, but nor commercial like the USA, where children are very indulged with material gifts.

About pagan roots, this is a stake to claim this season to justify themselves. Such thinking is ego. The need to celebrate the celebrate the seasons is what makes us human. It is human to celebrate God’s creation. Cardinal Ratzinger who became pope, wrote ‘Spirit of the Liturgy’, and in it he said considering the timing of Christ’s birth, appeared to fulfill the ancient Jewish calendar. Catholicism only draws from the Jewish tradition of faith, not the propaganda from anti Catholic rabbis and some Protestants. March 25 was the feast of Life in the ancient Jewish and later revolved into the feast of Abraham who was faithful to God, who was later told by the Angel to sacrifice the ram stuck in the bush, and the ancients held common understanding of the constellations of the sky, the feast of Aries the ram, the time in which is March. So looking back, it was the Holy Spirit leading the Church that defined December 25 as the birth of Christ. This teacher echos very much the perspective of the Apostolic Church that gave the Protestants the bible. However the bible was never intended to be used for personal interpretation which fragmented the unity of faith spreading more divisions and heresies.

So, the Channukah conception of the Light literally come into the world and the birth 9 months later at Sukoth with the brith milah on Sh'mini Atzeret means nothing to you? Also, Yeshua being born 3 months later after the birth of Yochanan in the spring has been lost to you? What about the understanding of Z'chariah serving in the Temple in the order of Aviyah (Luke 1:5) so that he could fulfill the literally once in a lifetime as drawn by lots (because once drawn the name was pulled) burning of incense in the late winter as was his scheduled order? You do know that this burning of incense was what the sons of A-haron were killed for doing because they were not commanded to and their names were not drawn? There was nothing about the Asherah Pole or that there was no reason by which sheep would have been brought out in the winter where there was no grass growing. Please get out of the Baptist mindset of Eisegesis [ (/ˌaɪsɪˈdʒiːsɪs/) is the process of interpreting text in such a way as to introduce one's own presuppositions, agendas or biases. It is commonly referred to as reading into the text.]. There is a difference between Pagan (Pah-gahn) being a worker of the earth, and a heathen with no religiosity or being apostates to faiths. However, having a hay-trough for the feeding of animals set up in a Sukah where there were also things to eat and places to sit as travelers came into town on the Third Chagh commanded in Torah makes total sense and is indeed what happened. At 2:07... So Jesus is the Father? If he is infinite God, how does he die? For if he is an infinite God, he should not be able to die. And if he is in the form of a human, he still doesn't die but transforms. back into the form he has always been. Also, at 4:54, John 10 doesn't say Jesus observed the Hanukkah festival. Jesus was in Jerusalem, but he was also in Jerusalem many other days. People assume he was celebrating the holiday, but again, Jesus being in the temple was not necessarily because of the festival. Also...Purim is another Jewish man-made holiday that is accepted.

Christmas was created by the Roman Catholic Church which is full of syncretism; thus, Christmas that came forth from the Roman Catholic Church which is also famous for pedophilia, is a pagan mass, from a religion that has been infiltrated by Rome. I won't practice any custom that comes out of Mystery Babylon, since the bible is clear: Come out of her! People in these latter days, don't have the strength to stand in Christ; thus, they bow down to Rome since it's paved with good intentions and pleasantries.

I do not celebrate remembering Jesus with all the pagan pomp and circumstance or costly array because Jesus gave us a command in Luke 22 on how, when, and where to remember him. He said, “And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. [This is a commandment.] 20Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.” This is not “communion” as the church does it nowadays, it is the celebration of the Passover. Jesus became the final and great Passover lamb that takes away the sins of the world. Jesus wanted us to remember he is the lamb of God. This humble way of remembering Him is all inclusive of His birth, life, death, burial, and resurrection. “Christmas” is worldly and Christ is not of this world.

I still have mixed feelings about this topic. There is plenty of evidence that the dates and practices of Christmas have pagan roots, which makes me question things. I appreciate your perspective though. Johnathan Cahn has a good video on the actual date of Jesus' birth. March 20th, 6 BC. He verifies with scripture and Talmud. I hope you dialog with Lex Meyer over this someday.

The problem with celebrating December 25th is it is the birthday of Tammuz, sun god son of Nimrod and his queen (can't recall her name atm), aka as Isis and Osiris. There is no way the Council of Nicaea in around 325AD didn't know that. They would also have known that Jesus couldn't have been born at that time, as the shepherds were still in the fields. There is absolutely zero connection of December 25th with Christ's birthday. If they had to set a date, why choose one that couldn't possibly have been the right time of year? Because they were trying to line it up with the pagan festivities, that's why. Nowhere in the Bible is Christ's birthday celebrated, apart from his birth. It isn't mentioned again, so He obviously didn't celebrate it. If God had intended for us to celebrate it, He would have made sure we knew. There are two possibilities for the correct month of Christ's birth, one is in the Spring, March, or April, and the other September. It was wickedness to select the exact same date as Tammuz. And the other thing is the origins of the baubles people hang on their trees; they were originally the castrated testicles of the men whom were forbidden to procreate, but their 'baubles' were hung on a tree as a fertility ritual for Nimrod and his queen. I used to love Christmas, and all the trappings, until I discovered all of this. And no, I am not in any way part of the Torah Roots movement, I don't accept that at all. If fellow Christians feel the need to celebrate Jesus's birth, pick a day in either the spring, or September, and not the birthday of Tammuz.

@bob94280 at least you celebrate Christ's resurrection. but here is much proof, that in Christmas is much paganism mixed in. Question: where do you see Santa Claus or any of the fairy tales in the bible. It is called christianizing paganism. First Christians in Acts 19 V 19 had different behavior. When they became believers they burned their magics and books. The hyper grace movement in Christianity mixes much of paganism and tradition in. Oh for goodness sake. For those of you objecting to celebrating Christmas: Who cares when the actual date of Jesus's birth was? We could pick any arbitrary date for a party. The point of the exercise is to celebrate the birth of our Saviour, no matter when it was. To argue about the date is a distraction. And who cares what unbelievers do with it? They're not worshipping anything--they're just using the day as any other holiday. The world spoils everything it touches. It's our role to declare the truth--if we can do that by truly celebrating the birth of Jesus, isn't that a good thing? We are salt, and we can "season the season" by using it to witness to a broken world. If you don't want to, don't. But leave the rest of us alone.

Shalom, Rob. I enjoy watching your videos and have commented a few times here and there, as I've been in the HRM many years and have definitely seen its dark side. That's not to say that I've "thrown the baby out with the bath water", but I'm interested in listening and learning from others who love Messiah and understand differently than me. One thing that struck me about this video was your shared view that we are free to appropriate things from other traditions and use them in our worship/celebration of the one true God, YHWH. I couldn't help but be reminded of a statement made by the Worldwide Church of God (which I attended growing up with my parents) in which they announced, "We have conquered the pagan holidays and made them our own!". (I can understand the inference was, through Christ.) This was the beginning of the end for this huge church, and its outraged members split apart into many smaller churches. The basis for thos split is found in Deuteronomy chapter 12, where YHWH instructs His people (Israel) very clearly that they are not to incorporate the customs of worship of other nations into their worship of Him... they are not even to inquire about them. He said not to worship Him in such ways. Torah very carefully teaches the way in which YHWH desires to be worshipped, and my understanding is that it was to be very unlike (set apart) the surrounding nations, which would make Israel a "peculiar people". How do we reconcile the YHWH of Israel who took great pains to teach the specifics of how His people are to worship and show their reverence and love for Him, with a version of Messiah that basically says the opposite? I see so much wrong with the HRM, but I cannot reconcile the traditional Christian views of Christ with the God He is supposed to represent. How can something be an "abomination" to God at one time, and no big deal later? (People devoted their lives, even unto death, in obedience to these laws that Christians today make light of, and even mock.) I believe the feasts have been fulfilled in Christ, which means I view them differently than most "feast keepers", and am open to understanding a new way of observing them in the light of their completion in Christ, but can't quite get my head around throwing them out and creating new observances ( observances that seem to be an amalgamation of many pagan customs with the "face" of Christ attached) in their place. Please set me straight on anything I may be misunderstanding here.

I can't understand the mentality of not celebrating the things that remind us of the things of God. And, I always say that the pagans, and the devil, doesn't own these days, or the things they use for evil. We are free to use days and things to celebrate the things of God. Hi, Matt! There is no contradiction to reconcile in Deut 12. The Christian celebration of the birth of Christ is not an attempt to worship or serve other gods in the way other people serve those false gods. It's a commemoration of the birth of God incarnate. And it certainly doesn't involve throwing our children into the fire! And by the way, this verse is a specific directive for the nation of Israel in their ancient context. And while Christians certainly can and should keep the general teaching against idolatry in this passage, the specific wording only applied to the ancient Israelites. Shalom, RLS

There's a third reason I think Christians should not celebrate Christmas, which so few even talk about or understand. To celebrate the birth of Jesus "according to the flesh" is to be minded on the things of the flesh not the awakening in Spirit. *"So that we from the now (the awakening of Christ from verse 15) not one perceive according to the flesh; even if we have come to know Christ according to the flesh, but now we know Him so NOT NO MORE" 2C5.16.* Jesus Christ came into the flesh of His humanity to suffer persecution and a sacrificial death so we could live as deadening away with him and to be awakened in Spirit. *J6.63 The Spirit is the One making alive; THE FLESH not, yea in not one thing, does it benefit; the talks, which I, yea I, have spoken to you, are spirit and life"* *R8.6 for the mindedness of THE FLESH is death, but the mindedness of the spirit is life and peace"* So next time you see a nativity scene, think about it....

Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow shall be a feast to the Lord.”” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭32‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ If you read that passage closely you see it says in verse 5 that they were throwing a feast for YHWH. That is what LORD is translated there to be. They did not think they were worshipping other gods…. That golden calf represented YHWH. They lost Moses up the mountain and probably thought he wasn’t coming back and got nervous so they went back to the ways of Egypt and made a calf that they thought would be YHWH and lead them in place of Moses. They made an image of God in this calf. This is what we do with Christmas. We worship God on the same day as the world around us doing the exact same things they do. I think that’s gross to Him. But in my opinion, how could we not celebrate the incarnation of God who became flesh and dwelled among us (John 1:14)? And if Jesus felt comfortable commemorating a God-honoring holiday not given in the Bible (John 10:22-23), that means it’s okay for us to do the same. Blessings, Rob

@@TheBiblicalRoots Honoring the birth of Jesus was already given in Leviticus 23. The same holidays you argue against. Recognizing his birth is not the issue, recognizing his first in contradiction to what God has already commanded is the problem.

@@TheBiblicalRoots I couldn't help but notice that you used the words "i'd say", like it somehow gives you the authority to decide what is or isn't appropriate. You're not God. It say a lot about "Christianity" that its adherents can see what happened to Adam and Eve and the Jews when they elevated their human reasoning above God's commands, and they STILL make the same choices they did.

A few reasons why I quit Christmass about 40 years ago and haven't regretted it for a moment. There is little to nothing worth being cslled Christian in that holiday.

For the first 3 centuries Christians did not celebrate Jesus's birth. In the Bible it is not commanded by God to celebrate it every year at a certain date like he does other feasts and festivals and dates of note. The Bible doesn't even state the day or year he was born. Kinda odd to me; makes me think God didn't want it celebrated? The apostles didn't celebrate it nor did Jesus himself. I would think there would have been much about it in the bible if they did. It wasn't until after 337 AD when the Roman Catholic Church decreed for his birthday to be celebrated on 12/25. The day they were used to celebrating other pagan gods that they worshiped. Historians know that Jesus was born March/April 6 BC. People say well God doesn't say to not celebrate it. There are church's that are finally saying "okay he wasn't born in Dec. but we figured out Mary conceived around 12/25 so we will celebrate it anyway. " 🤦‍♀ Okay, if you want to celebrate it, I guess do it, (even though Jesus himself and the apostles didn't, nor did the early Christians) but at least do it when he was actually born and without using the other pagan ways they worshiped their deities. All the tree decorating, going in debt for gift giving, and the other little additions have nothing to do with His birth. Deuteronomy 12:4 “Do not worship the LORD your God in the way these pagan peoples worship their gods." I wonder, how much of the day do people actually think of Jesus? Think of his birth? Maybe an hour tops? 12/25 has absolutely nothing to do with Him or his birth.

Let's follow Jesus's example. He kept the feasts of the Lord as revealed in the Torah. He also kept the feast of Hanukkah as seen in John 10:22-23 KJV "And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch."

Brother. Your arguments are sound. But, Here's the pit fall. People DO worship and adore the trees and decorations. They can not do without them. Their world is torn apart if they can not put a candle up. The bondage to creation is self evident. They cannot forgo these man made rituals and appliances to feed the poor and visit the prisoner. Unfortunately, my argument is not like those of the Torah crowd, but of the idolatry of the heart that transpires. A religious work of the flesh that paints shadows on the floor and walls, but have not substance. Not such a disputable matter before the born King of Kings.

With all due respect, there was hardly any scripture given to provide proof of your claims. Brethren, we should let the Bible interpret the Bible. We should follow Jesus, just as He commanded we do. We should mimic what the early church did; not the Christianity that was birthed from the Roman Church. Apostle Paul did not celebrate Christmas. He kept the Passover; which was also kept by our savior himself. Paul says we should be transformed by the renewing of our minds; meaning we need to come out of the world and wake up to the glory of our Savior; adopting His behaviors. It might sound “radical” to adopt God’s ways, His holy days, and abide in the Savior but that is exactly what Jesus Called us to do. ““If you want to be perfect,” Jesus said to him, “go, sell your belongings and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.” When the young man heard that command, he went away grieving, because he had many possessions.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ “For there has already been enough time spent in doing what the pagans choose to do: carrying on in unrestrained behavior, evil desires, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and lawless idolatry. So they are surprised that you don’t plunge with them into the same flood of wild living - and they slander you. They will give an account to the One who stands ready to judge the living and the dead. For this reason the gospel was also preached to those who are now dead, so that, although they might be judged by men in the fleshly realm, they might live by God in the spiritual realm.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭3‬-‭6‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ “The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” yet doesn't keep His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly in him the love of God is perfected. This is how we know we are in Him: The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ Blessings to all, let us not be divided for division is surely sowed by the enemy; the father of lies. We can agree to disagree; but there is always one Truth and that’s solely found in Messiah.

HalleluYah!!!!! Amen. It is sad that those who choose to follow Jesus’ example are mocked and even called heretics. Even Paul says, follow me as I follow Christ”. We must choose to not follow the Christmas “spirit” and follow the Holy Spirit. Satan comes as an angel of light and everyone is looking to what feels good to the flesh. I will however say…let’s not agree to disagree. Let us just disagree with lies as worship Him in SPIRIT and TRUTH.
