Ah yes, The Young Turks - a bastion of journalistic integrity, credence and reputability. That'll help vindicate ya. 😂 But anyway, as far as repugnant behavior in Hollywood goes, McTiernan did nothing of note. And it's not like nearly every cop who has ever taken the stand wasn't committing purgery or anything though, right? I'd give John McTiernan creative carte blanche on a three picture deal starting at 50 million dollar budgets each, without blinking an eye. If the first film goes over as well as it ought, then the next can be invested in even heavier. As much as JJ Abrams tried to ape his shooting style with his own whiz bang cotton candy sensibilities, McTiernan has a unique style that is in a league of its own. The fluid steadicam with whip pans and focus racks connecting geography under ample lens flares. Personally, I think McTiernan rebooting or doing a spinoff to the Mission: Impossible series after Dead Reckoning 2 is a great idea.
What's make McTiernan change decision of making movie 1. Back to back success and try to escape cliche formula film 2. Studio Betrayed (Last Action Hero, Rollerball, Basic) 3. He change his mind to make movie only if studio use his screenplay base on his writing
Short answer: crime. Long answer: illegal wire tap solicitation. EDIT: I am dumb, misinformed ape that responded to this video without watching it. I slipped on a banana peel just before posting this.
@@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat Ffffffuck, okay. Makes sense. I had looked it up, as I hadn't remembered; had the video on at the same time. Absolutely deserve to be dunked on for just blindly thinking I remembered correctly. Thank you for the concise info implantation. ❤️ EDIT: kept for continuity at my self expense.
