I went down to the book store just the other day to get myself a Bible for I had just got saved. But when I asked to see a Bible I could not understand why they had a shelf full ten feet long each one a different brand. They had the ASV and the RSV, Good News for Modern Man. They seemed to have a version for every cult and clan, the so called living bible and the brand new NIV but I soon found out the devil was the one who started these. So I took an ASV to church and the preacher preached in Psalms. But when he started reading I knew something was wrong. Was it that he could not read or was he going blind? But I finally figured out that he had a different kind. So I went back to the book store to get my money back. And when I told the man my problem he just slapped me on the back and said "now look here son some of the versions are hard to understand. I suggest that you should try Good News for Modern Man". So I took the other version home and thought I'd give it a try. But when I showed it to my pastor he said it was a lie. They attack the blood of Jesus saying he was not God on earth. They even put some cuss words in and deny the virgin birth. Wicked! Then he showed me how the other bible versions came along. Then he took the old King James and showed how they were wrong. He said "you're just a young believer and you didn't understand. The Authorized 1611 King James Bible is the only one for man." The next time I went to the bookstore I started to make him mad when I asked him if perversions were the only ones he had. And when he reached underneath the shelf what he showed me was a shame. He had to blow the dust away to read the name King James. So if you're going to buy a Bible please take this good advice. Buy nothing but the old King James. The others might sound nice. Compared to the other perversions the King James may seem odd but the difference is expected when you have the word of God.

Besides 1st John 5:7, there is another great way to show that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are one. Galatains 1:1 shows us that God the Father raised Jesus from the dead. This is true enough! The doctrine of the Trinity(God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God), and the deity of Christ(Jesus Christ is true God and true Man), is implied in the Bible! One question I like to ask JW's is if they have been "born again". The last JW lady I asked said "no, there is no born again". I asked her then since Jesus said you must be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven was Jesus a liar? She walked away at that point.

Good looking out though but there are other places to read the Bible online or through apps without being online such as strongs concordance which requires you to be online once for a download as far as I'm aware and then you can use it offline(I think). Visited the Titanic Museum in Branson Missouri 2018, in it they have a display with the only Bible recovered from the Titanic as it sank and it is one of these 1881 English Greek Bibles opened in display case to forward page where it says it is based upon the Vatican text and the Eclectic text if my memory is correct. It belonged to a Baptist minister who did not survive.
This is quite funny. Russell, the founder of the JW movement, used the KJV himself. The Watchtower prints and distributes the KJV, and they also have it published on their website. It has been their go-to Bible when speaking to real Christians, at least at the outset. That's a far cry from "hating the KJV", as you allege.
The King James Bible was in the local bookstore when I got to the Philippines in 2017. It has been replaced with the American Standard Version. They took it off the sales shelf here.
Given the KJV was the very first bible version that was the default for bible students/JW's before they adopted use of the 1901 American standard version before they rolled out there own translation it's hard to honestly say they "hate the kjv" given it was the main textual foundation for them. Additionally the kjv is one of a half dozen or so versions that are available for any jw to read and compare on there app. I'd certainly agree secret societies have attempted for many decades and have had a measure of success infiltrating them.
They don’t hate it they just downgrade it,mainly because the English in the KJV requires some thinking and some research,two things that JWs,and others as well, don’t want to do. Archaic English is more complicated than modern English so it’s not “convenient “ to read,also its language that predates post modernism which has gradually made its way into every western institution,including the religions of Christendom ,and translation of the bible.
true. JWs actually used the KJV for the first 100 years.. from late 1800s to 1970. We made our own translation to put God"s name Jehovah back in its original 7000+ places where the KJV translators took it out and put LORD instead.
@Tikka Fan I do not know where you get your information from but the NWT is not even available to all of Jehovah's Witnesses yet. therefore many different translations are used.

That would be one of the verses that has way more support in the Latin texts than in the Greek manuscripts. The bibles of the early 1500s show that by putting this verse in parenthesis.
The Scriptures in 1JOHN 5:7,8 was ADDED by Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamas by order of the Vatican into his third addition of Textus Receptus in the 1500s These words were NOT FOUND IN ANY GREEK MANUSCRIPTS BEFORE THE 16th CENTURY .
The jws new world translation is a bad translation. I was a Greek academic assistant in college and if one if my students turned in such work zi would have told them to redo it.

davesrepaircom pretty sure most kjvo's wouldn't want to include Wycliffe since it's from the Latin vulgate, which (they think) the new versions rely on. But even so, the kjv does have at least a sliver of Wycliffe as one would find out if they broke down where the kjv of Hebrews 11 : 1 came from.
@Van Guard the "prior English translation" was the douay-rheims though. Completed in 1610, and the kjv came out a year later. The word "prior" means before.
@Van Guard yep, there's at least three problems with stating that the prior English translation before the kjv was perfect if you're a kjvo. The first would be what I just told you (as in the implications), the second being that no English translation before the kjv reads exactly like the kjv, and the third being that if the prior English translation was already perfect, then not only would it mean you don't need to be a kjvo, but that there was no need for the kjv when the prior English translation was already perfect (as you said). One wonders if you knew what the words "prior translation" mean or if you knew what you were saying.
@@anonymousperson6462 You have a complete misunderstanding for why the KJV was made. God's Word was preserved in prior Protestant Bibles, sure. But was God okay with His Word being minimally impactful? No. Most early translations weren't even complete, and the one's that were weren't being largely impactful.. most importantly, they weren't being sent unto the whole world. They were being banned, and the one's using them were being persecuted. The KJV made it authoritative and accepted because it had the Kings approval. That lead to it being sent unto the world and nobody could stop it BECAUSE it was authoritative. It made it possible for all the churches to have an authoritative Bible, and soon after even the common man would have his hands on a Bible. So in a divine way, that was the purpose of the KJV. Like it or not, that's the truth. What was William Tyndale's last words?? "Lord, open the King of England's eyes!" Why would he say that had those early Bibles had no issues in being the accepted Protestant Bible??? And then a miracle happened.
What am I missing here? As I’m getting interested in learning more about Christianity/Greek, I often hear people accusing others of being wrong and thus creating division rather than uniting on the things that are common. Is Christianity about fighting others and exerting superiority or is it about compassion, trusting God will work out the kinks, and finding common ground by which we can unite under God? This fighting doesn’t sound Christlike or Godly to me. It sounds more like whining humans who can’t comprehend the greatness of God, miss the point, and perpetuate divisive behavior. Can someone educate me? What am I missing?

I grew up baptist and I will say their translation is eye opening. 1. The 3 different words translated to hell. 2 the belief of bodily resurrection. I had always heard that ppl floated around immediately in heaven upon death. 3 grace they do believe in grace not works that save man. 3 I learn the very important meaning behind the apple trusting either in mans knowledge or gods knowledge! Satan told a lie u will b like god knowing right from wrong! Pls trust in the lord. U will never go wrong even leading to death. they are all great ppl that I love but I will say that they lack the Holy Spirit. I grew up with shouting speaking in tongues and ppl passing out. They all sing together without instruments. Some sound great others at least try. Don’t bash the witnesses their noble hard working ppl that only wish to save another soul. As annoying as they may be

A Jehovah Witness took my KJV bible and proved that Jesus Christ was Begotten and was not eternal. He turned my Bible to John 3:16. Sure enough I had no rebuttal because it does say "only begotten son".

JW's once held the copyright for KJV (not kidding!). That's why you can find Jehovah's name in one particular verse in all KJV printed during those years. They eventually sold the copyright.

Saying that a few explicit references to Christian doctrine are removed when disputed passages are not included in Bible is not at all the same as saying that those doctrines can no longer be found therein. If your understanding of and belief in the Holy Trinity or the Divinity of Jesus are so shaky that the loss of one fairly plain reference each (and not even the most plain by a long shot in the case of the Divinity of Christ) then you need to study your Bible more closely, because even in the versions which take the most conservative stance and rule out all of the disputed passages, you will still find abundance evidence of these and all other doctrines.

Brother David, one of the two reasons why I came to believe th the King James Bible is the word of God is because I ran into you back in 2010, because, like many others, including brother Rick here, I was using the new versions as a little boy, but, none of them were mine, and I really wasn't satisfied by them, not even the NIV that I was using the most, but one day my mother and elder brother actually bought me another NIV because I had lost my first NIV that I was given in the Babylonian building that I was taken to, and I read it, and read it, and read it, but I never was satisfied with reading it, especially since I was a lost, wicked devil, listening to Satanic music like Skillet, Toby Mac, Newsboys, Casting Crowns, very little Michael Smith, Third Day, and some other ones. And another reason for that was because I would read it with depression and boredom, like a bird locked away in a cage, and then one day, I decided to go on to RU-vid after school, since I couldn't find anything else to do, and I thought, "Well this is weird: I've never heard of preaching being done on RU-vid before.", because I thought William Tapley was a good man, but I saw that he was using the King James Bible, because the verses that he was making reference to didn't line up with my NIV, so I went to go get my brother's Zondervan King James because there wasn't anything else, and I began to read along with him on RU-vid. But then I ran into another guy on RU-vid called man from modesto, and he actually pointed out William Tapley saying that the atheists that just simply reject the mark of the beast will be saved in the TJT (Jeremiah 30:6-7), and that a false prophet will expose another false prophet to make himself look real. Afterwards, I saw a guy named Steven (No I do not mean Anderson) expose him on something else and say, "Just because a voice may sound like it's from God, doesn't mean it is.", which actually encouraged me to look for people that were true, leading me to finding out about subliminals, backwards talk, and then finally, to your RU-vid channel pdflm, even more so, your video Did Jesus Lie? and some of your other videos talking about the new versions, and I was just shocked, electrocuted, just to hear about that stuff, and yet I was still lost, because I remember watching the RU-vid video called the Gates of Hell, where a preacher was saying about Jesus Christ's death on the cross, and how that was to give us everlasting life, because it was something that we cannot earn, and I thought, "What's he talking about?", because I fell for one of Satan's traps, the anti-repentance "salvation" heresy. And honestly, what our Faroese brother did with the KJV to Faroese, I also want to do that same thing to Spanish, because I don't know of a direct translation of the King James Bible in Spanish!
And by the way, did you get the Common Man's Reference Bible from www.purewordsoftruth.com? They've just released the third edition, with wider margins, more note taking paper, and more maps than the second edition, which I have in cowhide, and I really like it, especially because it's put together by bible believers, Local Church Bible Publishers, and David Allen Hoffman.
I came to use a KJV because my mom gave me the CESV. I had a desire to know God, but reading that Bible for a couple years, I felt more and more like I wasn't meeting him. So, I prayed and felt God answered me by bringing KING JAMES VERSION to my mind. I was a little hesitant in following that lead, because I thought the KJV would be over my head and beyond my understanding, BUT once I got it and began reading it, I couldn't put it down! It was as though I was living in a black, grey, and white world, until I started reading the King James bible; and then it was like a life of color exploded into my world. Everything felt REAL and alive and had clear meaning! I've been a KJV student ever since.
The very same thing happened a few decades before, where some got together and rejected the Post millenial view and accepted the pre millenial view, but many at that time got sucked into pre-trib. The reason Jehovah's Witnesses disregard the concept of a triune God is because they regard Jesus as a created spirit being defining first born to be a sequence vice a title. Also, 1 John 5:7 as written in the KJV is not found in any of the old texts. However, it is a footnote which summarized the relationship of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit which the writers of the KJV felt should be included. John 1:1 defines Jesus as the Word, but also as a god. in the NWT. Charles Russell felt that Jesus was divine, but only gods are divine. Without the Trinity, his only option was to make Jesus a god in his own right. And, Russell wasn't alone in deciding on that.
What does the title " father " denote Wat about the word, " Son" mean How about the concept of twins What is its origin If it doesn't mean anything ? @Alex J All modern Bibles can be twisted to teach the trinity. It's ironic because Jesus himself believed in One God not the trinity. He was raised Jewish and therefore Monotheistic. He even said that he couldn't do anything without his Father. Jesus clearly taught that he was the son of God, that God was greater than he was and that all sacred service should be be rendered to God alone. No, he didn't correct Thomas but, Trinitarians use that scripture to support a teaching that the Bible never teaches anywhere. In all four Gospels how many of Jesus's disciples called him God? How many times did Jesus tell his disciples and other people that it was his father that sent him, his father was greater than he was, we should worship God alone and more?. Jesus is our saviour and the Lord of all the earth. But that's because his fathers reward for Jesus going through the horrific things he went through was that Jesus sit at the right hand of his father the one true and only God. And that Jesus became the bridge from human kind to his father. Because of the sacrifice God made by sending his own son to die so that we may be forgiven. Jesus sacrificed his life on earth so that we could be reconnected with his Father - The one True God. So, now because of the sacrifices both the one true God made and his son made we can approach God through his son completing the Covenant between our father Yahweh/Jehovah and his people , us, mankind. God/Yahweh/Jehovah is the only one true God. Jesus was Gods very first creation (He was with God in the beginning) and Jesus was Gods don and craftsmen so to speak. Think of God as a company director and Jesus and his main manager. They are two separate beings. We can only pray to God through Jesus's name because he is the bridge between God and man. I'm at work and on my phone at the moment but when I'm home I'll provide scriptures and context straight from the Bible, I'll even use the original KJV version as flawed of a translation that it is for everything I've said above
This fella uses the term 'Vatican approved' very loosely, the only English translation that I have ever seen that was at least given Imprimatur by the Vatican (which is a bit of a simplification for convenience's sake) is the RSVCE-2E. Beyond that of the modern translations I am pretty sure only the Jerusalem Bible, the NAB and NABRE the Grail Psalter, the aforementioned RSV edition (plus the first version thereof, which was very similar) and one or two other translations have ever been formally approved for use by the relevant Bishop's conference in western English speaking countries. Thus the majority of Protestant translations are not even 'approved' by the local Catholic Church, let alone the Vatican.
Many people dislike the KJV. One major issue is the fact that the KJV has 1 John 5:7 as: “7For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” The problem with this lies within the footnotes. This was NOT found in ANY early manuscript and the footnotes will show that it was a LATER INSERTION into the Latin Vulgate. Meaning, this is NOT original or anything close to it. It was changed. There are several other problems with KJV with regards to authenticity and accuracy. It’s full of problems. Dr. Bart Erhman (PhD) has many books that show proof of the fabrications within the KJV.
I agree with what you're saying here but why would you cite a world-renowned atheist over the numerous Christian writers that have pointed out the countless flaws within the KJV?
