Part of that dependso n the size of the dog. The smaller the dog the sooner they mature and stop growing. Generally speaking though, dogs stop growing when they are a year old.

Lol - all dogs of all breeds began as a combination of different breeds. We tend to think of mutts as being dogs who don't have traceable pedigrees, health testing, a registry or breed standard. Unlike other "doodles", ALDs do have traceable pedigrees, a breed standard, a breed club, a code of ethics, COIs that are adhered to and a registry. Indeed, ALD breeders such as Van Isle Doodles who belong to WALA (Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association) do more health testing and have far lower COI numbers than the better known AKC and CKC breed clubs call for. Many of the AKC and CKC breeds are soon to vanish due to antiquated approach to breeding which includes having a closed stud book. This has resulted in AKC and CKC breeds having multiple severe health challenges as well as many temperament issues as they are so inbred. Having an open stud book and focusing on a COI that is 5% or less, allows ALDs to enjoy good health and excellent temperaments. Most people who are looking for a family dog are keen to find one who is healthy, of a good, even temperament such as ALDs. The good looks and non-shedding coats are bonuses. True mutts can also be fantastic dogs. They tend to be healthy as well because of that lack of inbreeding. ALDs are the best of both worlds - this is why they are such a popular breed.
