everyone for no reason: "horror games have to be solo, co-op horror isn't scary, friends ruin the atmosphere" zeekerss: *singlehandedly proves literally everybody wrong*
@@TrisPlayz_ usually the formula for comedy and horror is based on the player count Solving for the formula Horror %= 100 / Number of players alive Comedy %= 10x (Number of players alive - 1) Playing alone is terrifying playing with a 10 man or more squad is hilarious

We need more coop horror like this. These games are just so much fun.
Your point about horror games focusing on the gameplay section and being less reliant on scripted events made me think back on FNAF, it felt more like a game rather than an experience. Yes, it still utilized the "in your face jumpscares", but even then it still had the ambience and isolation like this game does. I suppose that why I love both games! Great video!
I think what made Fnaf unique at the time was when horror games were trying to be edgy, with old catacombs and gross looking monsters that are obviously inspired by Silent Hill
@@MysteryGeek2006 It also focused on what I think was an unused part of horror. You've got "fight" horror, like Cry of Fear, Resident Evil, and in some aspects Half Life. You've got "flight" horror, like Amnesia, SCP CB, and Slender. But I don't think they touched on the less talked about third type of scare reactions... "freeze" Instead of seeing something scary then shooting it to get past or running in the opposite direction, you stay where you are and defend yourself from that location using limited resources.
@penileymajorey7174 To be fair, 90% of the videos you see on RU-vid are unscripted, not an act, and have adults playing it. It's popular, all the popular youtubers are playing it, it has co-op multiplayer, of course it's going to bring in a lot of "young" people whether the developer intended to or not. TL;DR - Stop gatekeeping, and let people have fun laughing at their friend's screams while being chased by a skull in a wind-up box. Just because it doesn't appeal to you, doesn't mean it doesn't appeal to many other adults.
@penileymajorey7174 I agree, games are designed to attract only the people that primary grew up with them. In the future, however, I feel that audiences of older age ranges will be more commonplace due to the duration that video games have been around. Yes, older consoles have been around for a while, but nothing like what we have today.
Thank you Mr. MewZe for putting me into S-Tier along with my good pals, Ghost Girl, Masked, and Eyeless Dogs. I also agree that the locust is Super S-Tier.
Glad to see zeekers* finally get the recognition he deserves it steals and the upturned were one of the most fun and unique horror games I had ever scene
@@DevZayuh just another great asset against the normie bait and hate, i mean have you SEEN the steam community discussions good GOD also that we are generally just looked down upon whilst holding high extensions to alot of our stuff such as professions, creations charity etc. also its just hilarious and juxtipose compared to the young kids of these days tldr: im being satirical and sarcastic
Horror games consist of key components that labels them as such, such as monsters or hostile entities. What makes lethal company stand out is the ever growing quota forcing you to face such entities while facing literal expulsion from space. Most horror games have some kind of existential dread being usually death by a creature, but lethal company forces you to do your job/objective with failure not being an option!
I salute your worthless statuse in the company that dosen't care that you will die in missions for the most important items I salute you lethal company workers number 6593
As an executive at the company, I will confirm that this video is entirely fake. Working conditions at the company are second to none and we employ a highly sophisticated safety protocol to keep our employees safe.
With friends this game is the best times you will have with them but by yourself it becomes one of the scariest games ever no matter how many times you replay it solo is the scariest thing ever
My personal favourite experience in lethal company was when on rend (on stormy conditions) and a friend just sprinting towards us (screaming) with a bell just sparking in his hands and somehow managing to kill all 3 of us scavengers. (guy on ship was laughing his ass off while teleporting our corpses)
Did you know: if you just put the mask in your inventory it can’t kill you, but instead spawns a masked coworker to kill you instead. And don’t forget to sell the mask, it’s quite pricey
For me, what really sells this game is how well the visuals and audio are both used to give you "haha funny moments" and then immediatley rip it all away, then give it back, rinse and repeat. The Bracken and Coil Heads are great examples. The bracken has very distinct noises when you see it (the rustling leaves), and its bright white eyes means you can make it out in the darkness. That very noise strengthens the fact that its a stealth killer, and you could go from discussing plans with your friends to seeing a trail of blood and items. Coil Heads show their speed with the signature spring of their coils, and your first instinct is naturally to try and back away from it. You quickly learn its Mr. Popato, but it becomes even more scary when you consider that you could moonwalk into a mine or the Bracken could be behind you to ruin your run. Also, thank goodness the audio is actually BALANCED WELL, and loud noises aren't used for every way you die. If the Bracken did a FNaF screech at me everytime it snapped my neck, I would hate it so much more.
even if your playing with friends eventually when you turn your back away from your friend and continue chit chatting and they dont respond to turn around and find them gone and then you ask the question " where is everyone? " and that where you are so used to saying dumb things with your friends and now its just silent with those ambient noises it is a chefs kiss
nah one time me and my friend heard the horn and killed ourselves because we didn't want to die to the jester and then we spectated our friend and he was honking the horn
As a person, who is very weak in terms of my psyche (getting scared by anything to the point of pain in my chest and nightmares for the next few weeks), i'm not being scared by this game, it's fun, not scary, maybe i don't understand something, the scariest games i played is the "Outer Wilds" and "Rain World"
My first impression was with my friend while we were landing off the ship he jumped off and when I saw his dead body I thought it was a decorative part of the moon
The “alone=scary” is the most accurate description of this game ever. Like whenever I play alone I never get to any of the paid moons because I scare-quit. But if I play with other people I immediately get a boost in confidence, which expires if I lose them or they die where I will run to the nearest way away or even kill myself so I don’t have to find the way back
This is actually so true, whenever I'm with anyone it's just run in and be funny, whenever I'm alone the ambience gets to me and I get every motivation in the workd to just leave
I played it today with 2 other friends. We first said that it wouldn't be scary, but then the game kind of teached us a lesson😬. (Sry if my englisch is bad, i'm from germany)
My algorithm forgot about you for a couple of months but you've improved a lot Seriously, this is quality content. At this rate we'll reach a Mewzillion subscribers by 2025
Do understand that in this game, your greatest enemies can be your teammates. Hey, be careful there is a mine and then they received to run directly at that line. Do not give them a shovel because they will hit you in the head.
1:20 you just gotta memorise 3000items. It’s fiiiiiiiiiiiine. Fine? I am fiiiiine. This comment is a joke kinda. Don’t worry about my mental health. I a, actually very happy right now.
Finally playboi uploads, but seriously, this editing is so much better than the other videos i have seen, i really hope u stick with this style, for some reason it just feels different
I feel that most of the terror in this game is carried by the time aspect, if the employees weren't on a timer than we could always scavange every facility clean and gang up against any entities but the limit forces desperation for efficiency alongside ever more risky dives into the twisting corridors.
Lethal company is popular because silly little people do silly little things and clip it and it is kind of goofy (btw the game is not scary at the slightest it is just fun af)
3:36 there is no pixelation effect. the game is just at a lower fixed res AND it does use a high definition and expensive shader it just hides it with the low res and shaders (the res is the reason its not laggy)
