One thing we've seen in the anime when Luffy transforms is that he releases a lot of Haki. Maybe Luffy is right now in a rougher form of his power and he needs to learn to contain his power and keep all that Haki inside. That might give him a stronger Haki and/or longer time in Gear 5.

One of the idea's about this is that luffy always knew he couldn't be pirate king on his own, luffy is nearing his maximum potential while everyone else would be dead weight in a fight vs the threats we are facing now. I think now the story is for the crew to come together and show how they can be as a sum instead of individual parts, I believe joyboy failed because his crew wasn't fully behind him.

The Gorosei called Luffy's Gear 5 "Nika's white form", that makes me wonder if there might be something like a "red form", there is a chapter of the anime (chapter 1091) where Luffy gets mad because the food he is seeing isn't real, and he transforms into some sort of Gear 5 form with red hair, I think that might be a clue to Luffy's new form, Nika's red form that represents Nika's anger.

I think it's more because he's fighting against 5 opponents instead of them individually being particularly strong on their own.

I think Luffy will learn something in Elbaf which is a more advance than Ryou that will make the Gorosei unable to regenerate anymore

13:47 personal theory, Gear 5th is the hybrid form of the awakened Nika fruit and the full transformation turns him into an even stronger version that's a Luffy of the original Nika's race, either a Giant or a Buccaneer depending on which Oda has in store as Joyboy's race. Obviously it would grant him even stronger powers, or at least enough stamina to stay in gear 5th Nika as long as he likes.

I think the best explanation for their passivity is their contempt for the races of one piece. They consider everyone not a celestial dragon to be an insect. Do you feel like an insect is ever a threat to you, your ambitions or your plans? No. They’re just bugs. When you see one and don’t kill it, you’ve granted it life at your whim and you could end that life on those same whims. The machinations of the insect don’t matter. That’s how the gorosei seem to feel about the inhabitants of the OP world.

People keep thinking that the Gorosei all have the ability to teleport vast distances but my theory is that its REALLY just St. Saturn’s ability to teleport people. I think each Gorosei has various abilities unique to them and I think Saturn’s is to teleport people/Gorosei.

Luffys Sungod form is going to evolve over time to coincide with the 3 stages of the Suns phases, gear 5 is the sunrise form as he has just "awoken" there will be a midday form and a sunset form in the same scope as the 3 forms that zoan fruits usually have just in a slightly different manner.

What we previously saw from zoan dfs with models is that they have their animal model form, hybrid form and if they awaken the awakened form with a white or black cloud over their shoulders, the transformations luffy underwent are a bit different so who knows their might be another level

What would be epic of vegapunk would be if the information/secret was actually spread out/ciphered in the 10 minutes of the broadcast so that now everyone has it and the gorosei have been wasting their time thinking it was at the end of it. Pretty sure the reason why the Gorosei didn't go after Roger was because he didn't have the DF, with the foreshadowing from what little we have seen of Imu, I would wager Imu+Gorosei have been anticipating the return of Nika and planned to jump him at the earliest time possible (in this case, egghead, b/c luffy was confirmed to have Nika fruit in Wano). At 16:00 this kind of backs up my theory before about laughtale being the ancient kingdom or at least having a close connection to it. If we go back and think about roger and crew laughing and saying that they were too early but also laughing because maybe it was said that they need the nika DF since it’s users heartbeat when awakened can access and power up all the ancient technology left behind. So they laughed knowing that no one on rogers crew had any DF powers let alone the one for what’s on laughtale and given that even the voice of all things told roger that someone will surpass them (which we all know is luffy). That’s what I think but I would love for you to think about it and see if it makes sense.

I believe that Luffy's power up will give him colors. I love the white. But it makes sense thematically if his color-based power ups could give him different attributes or abilities. Current gear 5 is a blank canvas.

Something I don’t think ppl are talking much about is how luffy has been able to conjure physical object out of nothing within his fights like the goggles against lucci and helmet to go with the baseball bat he made. Against Kaido he mainly affected his surroundings but not to the point of creating anything tangible. Just wondering if this is something that will be able to develop further.

For god's sake. Kaido was in base. And Luffy was using Ryou. Ryou as we know 'bypasses' physical durability as the damage done is internal. Warcury is in full Zoan form. And we have no idea if Luffy used Ryou when using the Red Roc. So, no, Warcury and Kaido are not comparable. Not in this case at the very least.

I have a theory about Luffy‘s power up that i haven’t seen anywhere. We all know that Zoan fruits have a will of their own and we have seen how Luffy and Lucci are influenced by their DF in their awakened forms, but what if the user is able to overtake and erase the DF will! We know that the opposite is absolutely possible, so this should be also possible. Right now Luffy in G5 is basically Nika lending him power cause their wills align and have the same goal, freedom. But it is still borrowed power, there is no way that he is using 100% of it. Only by erasing Nika‘s will from the DF he will be able to unlock 100% of it‘s potential and of course Luffy being Luffy he will call it Gear 6!

What if the gorosei weakness is that when most of them transforms back, the immortality gimick kinda wears off and its only when they all are in their full form that they simply cannot get damage. Im thinking of a scenario like that. Wifi haki hotspot for healing other's souls could be an explanation. This is my theory.

A thought just occurred to me! What if the pirate king isn't the king of pirates but rather, the pirate who became the king?

Dorry and Brogy uses Haki at Little Garden when fending of the giant goldfish and claims that the only thing they cant cut is the giant red serpent (probably a norse myhtology reference to the World Serpent circulating the world, indicating the end of the world when it connects, the red line). In that scene they never connect their swords to the goldfish, but send out a wave of haki, which very well could be this wi-fi haki Shanks know of. It would make sense if Luffy would learn this form of Haki from the giants in Elbaf, who once learned it from their god, Nika.

Back in the Sabo flashback, when he entered the Gorosei room when Cobra was being killed by them, they also transformed at will into their Yokai form, so I'm fairly sure they can transform whenever they want

The Gorosei are primarily public figures in the world, thats probably why their powers are rarely used, and covered up when they are

Kuma might sacrifice himself to get the Straw Hats off the island. One more burst of energy to paw the ship with his daughter on board to Elbaf. Kuma gets left behind and explodes the plant that York was talking about. Would be a fitting way to end his story but also get Bonney as a Straw Hat. It would suck but I can see it being a call back to Sabaody sending the Straw Hats off again to the place they can get stronger, Elbaf.

I've always thought the Gorosei or Imu are immortal because of previous uses of the Ope Ope no mi which has granted them immortality. The fact that Spider-guy was ready to call a buster call on himself is proof of his confidence in his immortality.
