@@cosinguspalpatine4449What about Dooku’s Dark Acolytes? They are part of EU. I am not here to bash the EU because I think those are Reborn and in Jedi Academy some of the Dark Jedi are cultists.
@@cosinguspalpatine4449 Thanks, Dark Acolytes appeared in the Republic comic series from early 2000s. I’m personally an EU enjoyer and I like to stay away from TCW. It meddles with EU canon, no pun intended.
During this exact sequence on my playthrough, Luke and all the acolytes leapt up onto a higher area that I couldn’t reach with the jump you have at this point. He completely soloed them while I just got to watch on the lower level.
They're basically cannon fodder that got temporary force powers. They don't really have the training and the (canon) reason Kyle struggles with them is he just started to use the force again after years of letting it go.
I really dont understand why they didnt keep the formula of the Jedi knight games. These lightsaber duels were the best, why cant they just make another game like this with updated graphics? You could do everything in this game, run on the wall, force choke, I even beheaded a sith lord by doing a backwards twist flip just as he lunged with a stabbing attack, its STILL the most excellent lightsaber dueling game around. The first person shooting elements were also awesome, the game just brought so much to the table. Are we going to have to start a petition for them to make a new one or what!?
early 2000s were a golden age of gaming. it will never happen again because the developers do not have any passion nor heart to make real content, just fancy looking turds.. good news is that you can play outcast and academy still to this day on steam pc and have infinite fun due to console commands spawning people and objects :)
I don’t know if you have a VR headset but if you do try the VR port of these games. It’ll blow your mind. Best Star Wars VR hands down and the only game to legit make me feel like a Jedi master while dueling acolytes.
a great trick is to press left and attack, and then immediately press right and attack. when you switch directions, it confuses the computer but also adds faster strikes to the medium stance yellow saber style :) try it!
the key to saber combat in this game is to press forward, not walk back, and swing to just barely hit the enemy, do not let them get right up against you. use the very tip of your saber to strike the body or head :) so keep them away, keep them at distance where you almost miss them they are so far apart, and press forward alot! :) cheers
I remember having rented it as a kid, but never beating it, or even getting to Kyle's lightsaber, due to the game's very frustrating puzzles and map progression, and Kyle almost never giving hints on where to go next. I'm not sure where I got stuck, but I'm 80 percent certain it was in the mines, where you have to enter a pipe that comes out from a cliff side only periodically, because I didn't know that pipe was even there. >=( That being said, the lightsaber combat is still awesome. =D
hey vid guy, i have studied this game for about 20 years i think haha.. anyways, try being more agressive with your attacks. if you constantly shy away, or move backwards the computer will see that as weakness and go after you, but if you press forward more and strike agressively, the cpu will be on the defensive and you will win :) have a great one :)
More likely Kyle would become severally injured and pass-out, given that the rest of the story is about him saving Jan (like how Sabine passed out after being stabbed and rescued Ezra at the end)
The same way Vader killed Mace Windu: by being stronger. All he had to do was chop his arm off. Kylo Ren, arguably weaker, turned to the dark side at around 27 years old. Ben Solo has 13,500 midichlorians, and Kyle Katarn has 12,200. A young spry 27 year-old Kylo Ren beats an old wise washed up 54 year-old Kyle Katarn in his "golden years" by 1300 midichlorians. Kyle can use lightening and grip all he wants, Kylo doesn't have lightening, but Kylo just pushes Kyle down each time he tries to yeet Kylo, blocks Kyle's lightening back at Kyle's face, and beat him down with a crossguard and strong style @@Phantomidk-dm1vg
I'm not sure if this applies to Jedi Academy as well, but Luke is insanely weak on Jedi Academy. He has less health than a Jedi master and typically just fights in a very unintelligent manner while Kyle has an insane amount of health and fights much smarter. I know that Luke isn't supposed to actually be in any missions on Jedi Academy, but it's interesting that his NPC in the game files is so bad As an added note, Desann is also in Jedi Academy's files and he is insanely strong (more HP than even Kyle), but he also has no voice lines. They also have a gag NPC which is the bartender from Jedi Knight with dual sabers and his only force ability is force rage. It's always cool to see characters that are in game files, yet not present in the actual game
those are in there because they are from the multiplayer on pc. also devs like to add npc from outcast into academy in the final release :) both are god tier games, outcast is my fav of all time
you might have the different aspect ratio or screen resolution, the models will be the same, and gog might be a pirate version, steam on pc is the only legit version i know. try downloading the free jedi outcast demo and see if it compares :) also he is on ps5 so his buttons are all about triggers x o triangle and such.. the original xbox version of jedi outcast in the early 2000s had the same hud and items.. but i dont see much of a difference?
@@HoboTheManthe PlayStation/Switch ports are pretty awful. I always used to play the original Xbox version which still isn’t perfect but had the ability to hotkey up to 3 force powers and or weapons.
@@Savior20061 you're not bad you just need to practice the ebb and flow of lightsaber combat, also never get too close, imagine using the very tip of your lightsaber to slice people from arms distance.. keep them back ;)
