Why Mace Windu Wanted Anakin Trained Against Yoda's Wishes - Star Wars Explained 

I always thought it was f'd up of the council to not recognize the value in saving his mother. It wouldn't have cost them hardly anything in comparison, and to show him what they did and give him that peace of mind might have made the difference in loyalty. The Jedi have shown over and over their ability to be "opportunists". This would have been the motherload of opportunities to help themselves at almost no cost.

It would’ve been cool to see Master Windu training Anakin.

One issue with the "Train Anakin or not" question from Phantom Menace that's never mentioned... yeah there's danger about training Anakin because he's a bit older, sure, but what of the danger of NOT training him!? Here you have a person with the highest force potential in the galaxy... you can either guide him as a Jedi, or just... what? Let him wander the galaxy alone, unguided? Even if he wasn't found by Sidious within a week (he absolutely would, Sidious had people in the Naboo security forces who probably informed him of Anakin's existence as soon as he stepped onto the Queen's Ship), Anakin would've likely abused his growing powers as he matured. But yeah, he would've absolutely become an apprentice of the Sith, which by TPM the Council knew about... so not training Anakin and letting him go on his own would've been colossally stupid.

It's stated that Darth Plagues went to meet Anakin when he heard about him but he was taken to the Jedi temple before he could. Is it possible that Mace Windu saw a shatterpoint where Plagues would get to Anakin if the Jedi did not accept Anakin to be trained and that changed Mace Windu 's mind?

You know, I really like how many what ifs they did well with the prequels. It's a story where almost everything is already set in stone, and the audience knows the outcome, but they were still able to make an audience sit there and think, wait, what if? After watching them again it's like, they had all the ingredients to make a masterpiece, and it just didn't happen, but it's still so fun to appreciate what amazing stuff was there too.

I suspect Mace didn't have a clue at the time why Palpatine would be connected in this way to Anakin at all. The Jedi order knew him only as a chancellor in the senate for that was all that was common knowledge about him. The destiny between Obi-Wan and Anakin was much more obvious, the bond of a master and apprentice, perhaps. But why would the chancellor be connected to him as well in this same shatterpoint? In hindsight the connect is pretty obvious, but it would've been no less than wild speculation to suppose that Palpatine even had any power in the force at all, with how well he was hiding himself from those attuned to the force at this time. This also nicely explains why Mace reacted the way he did when Anakin revealed that Palpatine might be the Sith lord they were searching for. To Mace, a giant, shocking, puzzle piece just clicked *right* into place. *That* was why he'd seen the shatterpoint connection all those years ago, as Obi-Wan was Anakin's personal connection and mentor to the light side of the force, so too was Palpatine that to the dark side for Anakin. Learning that, at such a timing as he did, and knowing its significance, it's no wonder he told Anakin to stay put and got the rest of the Masters to come with him to confront Palpatine.

Chances were that Windu kept that shattered point with Palpatine and Anakin bond was probably on a political connection considering that Anakin was the Chosen One who will destroy the Sith, while Palpatine was the leader of the Galactic Republic and perhaps in Windu mind he thought that both Anakin and Palpatine will team up and destroy the Sith together as both Jedi and Republic has done for millennium.

It’s a real shame Windu didn’t interject in Anakin’s teaching, even becoming Anakin’s master. He could’ve been the father figure Anakin needed after Qui Gon’s death and he could’ve trained Anakin to control his darkness just like Windu had done. Plus Anakin would’ve definitely waited in the council chambers like Windu asked.

Could you perhaps make a video about the many rare force abilities that could accur in a user, like from the common of the rare ones like Battlemeditation to the rarest like shadderpoint.

Mace should got involved in the beginning, this could of save alot headache down the road, but complacency, that stems for the old masters of revan is what lead to there down fall. The Jedi need Revans teaching of attachment, but complacency and fear specially fear of the darkside roted both orders and kill them both.

Windu is literally the most selfless of the Jedi. He even trains in a fighting style that greatly increases his ability fighting the Darkseid only but not increasing his general fighting skills.

This was curiously informative. Maybe a nice "What if" video would be "What if" Mace Windu told Yoda about the Shatterpoint between, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Palpatine.

Mace should have tell what he was in shatterpoint to Yoda. It would do much good. But he didn't want to contradict Yoda. No to look to the future but to present. He could tell to other Jedi probably. Mace was all about discipline Anakin would learn much faster yes. Qui-Gon would be perfect teacher,true father figure and friend to Anakin. Warm,caring,understanding,loving. He wanted him trained because he could sense shatter points. Anikan was a shatter point. He wanted to see if he could beat him in duel. Test his own strength. Because he was light and dark side. Hence (purple light sabre)

I'm reminded of a moment when Darth Plagueis was about to inform Sifo Dyas of the existence of Kamino and the cloning program. As he was about to speak he felt what he described as the dark side of the force restricting his speech to prevent him from setting plans in motion too soon. As Mace somewhat occupies both sides of the force in some manner perhaps it was through the shatter point that he perceived that the will of the force was to have this boy be trained and be used as it's instrument to foment the destruction of the Jedi and then Sith

Once they knew for a fact that the Sith were around and had attacked the Jedi once they were around the boy it was clear that the Sith knew of Anakin and if the Jedi didn't train him the Sith definitely would.

Hence the jedi sealed their own fate by going against its own principles just as the Force wanted.

Mace in Legends was much kinder to people in general then his Canon self he would of been the perfect master for Anakin since Qui Gon was not around at that point plus I am sure Mace would of sensed Anakins connection to his Mother and had her freed afterall Mace has the shatterpoint ability and even if he didnt Mace is more unorthodox in his actions he would probably teach Anakin to also have good friendship with Obi Wan still as well as teach Anakin how to love Padme in a non obsessive way and keep him away from Palpatine yeah.

It was Mace's gift to see but not always understand what he saw. Speaking of it would cause interference, changing what he saw for the worse. In the end, he had no choice but to wait and see what happened and deal with what played out. This is why he told Anakin to STAY in the council chamber, he was the tipping point between Obi Wan & Sidious, the Light & the Dark. With him absent, the Dark would lose!

Mace Windu should have become Anakin and Kenobi’s new Master. Even if Kenobi was recognized more widely as Skywalker’s official teacher, Mace should have been the more fatherly figure. They both needed more mentoring.

This is why Sidious is always thought that the Jedi was a bunch of hypocrites. Which I do kind of agree with him considering that during the time of the Great Hyperspace War 2 there were many enclaves of both Jedi and Sith that train young students in the ways of the force to bolster their numbers with multiple Masters to guide them no matter their age. A perfect example this is Kyle katarn during the events after Return of the Jedi and he was possibly the oldest jedi initiate that later became the greatest Jedi Master second behind Luke Skywalker.

Its ashame that they got off the wrong foot had Mace trained Anakin perhaps things would've been different. Though I wonder if Mace would allow Anakin to visit his mother or would Shimi still die?

They sensed all these faults in Ani, but not their own. It is the council who gave off bad energy during the evaluation. Not Anakin.

Mace Windu probably didn't tell anyone else about the shatter points for the same reason the Jedi order fell: arrogance and hubris. Windu most likely believed that he would be able to handle any consequences that could arise, hence he did not feel like there was sufficient threat to have to confide in the others.

Mace's abillity would have been sean as blasphemy to the jedi. And it could also be some of the good old hypocrisy of the jedi. I mean look at Jedi Sifo-dyas he had one such abillity but if he's end would not come at the hands of the Pike sindicate it would have come at the hands of the jedi themselves

The Jedi were right let Obi-wan train Anakin but they should treated him no differently then any other student, maybe bit more cautious, and they should have started breaking away from the old ways sometime after Jedi Civil War

I will never understand this "turning away a force sensitive because they are to old." I understand the given reason, but it is also just begging for the sith to pick up said force sensitive. Imagine this in times of the old republic era, when the rule of two wasn't a thing. How many would fall to the darkside due to the jedi being unwilling to try.

I believe that if Anakin was NOT inducted into the Jedi Order, i think things would have devolved a lot faster. Palpatine would have easily found an turned Anakin. With Anakin instead of Ventress, Palpatine could have done a lot more. I think he would have made him better able to control his anger as well, letting him kill Obi-Wan. He also wouldn't have ties with the Jedi and thus would never be Redeemed and never kill Palpatine

Windu didn't hate Anakin, of anything it was Yoda against Anakin, Windu changed his mind and saw potential in him.
