It’s a common courtesy to say its not a big deal or No problem whenever someone thank us for helping them. Athu onnum kuyapam illa usually means it’s not a big deal or No problem. You find it funny because you don’t know the language but just say it in your mother tongue then you wouldn’t find it funny . Like in Tamil Periya vishayam kidayathu or hindi koi baat nahi.

If you ask can you plz tell me this address most of us will say yeah sure (pinne entha) or maybe nothing. You might have heard 2 or 3 random Malayalis saying athu onnum kuyapamilla in different situation and would have assumed it is a common thing. For instance it’s been very long since I said Athu onnum kuyapam illa to anyone.

This is the first time I've heard someone call us Mallus "nice" 😅 usually what I get to hear is that we are only nice to other Mallus 🤭 I think probably Cochin is the only exception.

Yeah. We are considered very rude to other state's people (even in the south). Got to know from twitter and these youtube comments how much people hate malayalis

@@SounDTrack007 it's not so much about people hating Malayalis as much as us being hostile to or distrustful of any person who is not a Mallu. Even Malayalis that aren't born and raised in the state feel like outsiders when they visit Kerala. It's just the closed culture. I think the situation is changing but a lot is still the same.

@@joycechacko8207 Yeah that's true. And I think the major reason for malayalis trusting only other malayalis is also because of the insecurity regarding our english speaking ability. Malayalis in general always think of what others would feel if we speak broken english. Also if some NRI person or a non-malayali starts speaking in english to them, they feel awkward and get nervous. But yeah things are slowly changing.

It is called 'there is no confusion' Kulapam means confusion in both Tamil/Malayalam

Their is no such rules that cinema people should not become CM..... Politician took cinema as a medium to spread their view when our state was rule by high class society ( higher community) from that moment these two were un separable......who ever comes the state is developing and getting stronger.

Actors in Kerala never become CM because we see cinema as an art. We don’t worship actors like gods even if they speak for common people in a film. It’s called common sense to understand what’s real and what’s reel.
