Bubur is a porridge. McD bubur always brings childhood memories back. The taste & smell is so one of a kind. And oh, we malaysian pronounced it "boo-bor".. And for the nasi lemak, it is actually a localized menu
I am not sure about it too but my buddy whose office is above McDonald's Mont Kiara eats there like 2x a week for the Quarter Pounder for a long time. As a result of it his stomach is shaped rounder than mine.
Have you been to mcd and do sit in? Most customers never removed their rubbish to the bin after consuming them. Litters are everywhere......it looks like a dump .....few do clean it properly but majority is not clean.....at least the general dining area.
@@linustw mcd cannot control how customers behave towards cleanliness. it's not their fault if Malaysians are lazy to clean after themselves. the workers clean the dining area all the times. but in terms of kitchen cleanliness and food preparation, mcd has their own guidelines & to get a halal cert, food chains need to adhere to certain cleanliness requirements too. i've been inside mcd ampang park's kitchen for a class tour and it was clean.
@@cheese_productions well.. everyone have their own taste.. respect for your preference.. i prefer juicy burger like what we have in Malaysia.. rather than plain and dry burger here
We often eat porridge when we are sick so it is supposed to be quite plain. People also eat it when they want to have something not too heavy in taste. I eat Mcdonald bubur with Mcnuggets so that it’s a bit more filling.
Sambal is a standard malay sauce.. to make Sambal ingredients usually as follows.. shallots.. garlic.. Chillis.. prawn paste.. tamarind juice.. seasonings of salt sugar and other bits of ingredients according to the chef discretion.. they will tell you its their secrets..
Wow someone from UK got the audacity calling our food was “bland” 😂😂😂 but yes, the porridge is quite bland when consumed as it is but when you put some pepper & salt together with bit of spicy fried chicken in it, it will be damn good.
Im not fast-food lover... But compare all fast food chains in Malaysia and UK or US (based on my experienced) Malaysia more hygiene (halal), uniqueness, in term of taste wise very flavourish.
Bubur is rice congee or poridge. You can add pepper and salt to taste..they are at the condiments and sauce corner. I personally think that McD chicken is crispier than KFC chicken. Did you notice that there is Mc Cafe in the same place where you can order your coffee or tea and cakes?
@@muhdyusuf24 marry brown was founded in Malaysia by Malaysian, definitely nicer than other fast food here. Their nasi lemak was the best among fast food here.
Bubur (pronunciation "boo bore") is our Malaysian porridge normally chicken or vegetarian. You forgot to add pepper as it shld be given free of charge with bubur. McDonald's Malaysia ayam goreng pedas is better than KFC ayam goreng as it's spicier & crispier.
Bubur ayam means chicken porridge..this mcdonald porridge is so delicious also good for people who have a fever..because my late grandmother always ask me to buy this porridge whenever she have a fever..and she feels better after eating this porridge 😂
I am not sure if you already know this but Malaysia is an Islamic country and these franchises like McDonald's, KFC, Subway etc are all Halal places so obviously, Pork is taboo. It will not be sold in most areas or restaurants. I just wanted to let you know of such things in case you stumble upon Muslim-owned restaurants or something.
The bubur(porridge) is an all time fav of Malaysians though 😂 especially when it’s sick seasons haha! I used to work in McDonalds in Penang and the porridge would be sold out by evening all the time. Oh and the way to pronounce bubur is boo-boor.
Hello Skye, this brings back loads of memories whilst I was still living in Malaysia. My mom used to buy Maccies for me and my siblings as a treat for lunch on Fridays. Since I'm living in the UK, I sometimes missed Maccies in Malaysia
MACCIES..Is that what English called McDonald..Here we called it MEKDI.. Btw, Im actually wondering..Your name seem like Malaysian.U migrated to UK? Or are u English Muslim? Sorry if my question is too personel.Feel free to ignore if it offended u in any way.
As a Malaysian living in the uk i can say i missed Malaysian mcd so so so so much man i used to have it everyday but in uk i cant even find myself buying it at all ever again
Congrats on 12k 🎉🎉 Funny we're looking at KL and I was looking at cost of living. I also checked out how much McD's cost as one of my reference points 🤣
There's lots of local food franchise that u could try like chicken rice shop, ayamas, secret recipe, papa rich, white coffee shop etc. Even d menu in KFC Malaysia is quite interesting.
Hi cutie . welcome to malaysia the good and modern country in asia.. people in malaysia very humble and kind..and malaysia food is the best in the world 😘😘
I feel Bubur Ayam McD is the best food on the go in relation to price. I used to have it for lunch everyday when I drove Uber a few years ago. Cheap, tasty and get you full quick.
Thank you for staying in kl for almost a month. I hope you had great, pleasant n safe stay here. Any plan to explore beyond kl? Maybe penang, melaka, Putrajaya, Fraser Hill.
@@SkyeSamuels wish cld meet you personally here in KL, Skye. Love yr open minded attitude abt foodstuffs. Enjoy watching yr videos exploring KL. My hometown.
Sambal is basically chili, What makes it different each name called or some sort like that, was the way to prepare the sambal, and the ingredient. If basic nasi lemak sambal, I guess it's onion, sugar, salt, chili, and.. anchovies . *Tips for sambal : If u look at any sambal, that didn't look as shiny as sambal u experienced before, beware, the shine is sugar and oil , means it's less spicy and hot, if sambal don't shine, means toilet. Super hot and spicy 🤣
You should try ramly Burger next because this local burger is better, most people who visit Malaysia will often try Ramly Burger first. Trust me you won't be disappointed.
KFC fried chicken is much better. You must try the hot&spicy fried chicken. You will smell the aroma although outside the premise.Local always buy the Snack Plate/Dinner Plate.Maybe other like McD fried chicken, but I still like KFC one.Have a pleasant travel in Malaysia.
McD introduced their own fried chicken back in late 90's to tackle KFC heads on. The latter was king of the hill then. Malaysians love fried chicken very much so the only way for them to took over the top spot is by selling fried chicken too. Fast forward now McD already beaten KFC as number 1 fast food joint here. Chicken meat here is soft tender and juicy because we developed certain type of our own broiler chicken breed which was different form other countries. And for me I always get nasi lemak with grilled chicken every time i'll go to McD.
Nasi lemak is very versatile that really there is no wrong or right way of eating it. It can be paired with literally anything depending on your mood of the day. Glad you loved it! And yes, UK McD can never beat Malaysian McD 😁😁😁
Thank you for posting all the lovely videos about Malaysia. Your food commentary is very interesting to listen to. I live in Australia now. Looking forward to visiting Malaysia at the end of the year. Enjoy your stay in my lovely country of birth :)
Tried the burger in standford, there is no chilli sauce but with only tomato ketchup. And the taste? You are right...I am so missed the Malaysia taste of food 🤭🤭🤭
Bubur ayam or chicken rice porridge is basically Asian version of comfort food/chicken soup for the soul to be eaten at any time when you want to get it. Not only when you're sick or depressed :-p
As someone who's involved with all this shit, your thumbnail game is strong on this video. I'd make the "VS" a bit more prominent (the white "V" doesn't stand out against the yellow background). Aside from that top marks!
McD technically have their menu changes based on the place. That's why ours have Nasi Lemak and Porridge since it's local food in Malaysia. I bet other McD in different nation also served their local foods but either way glad you enjoyed Malaysian food😆😋
McDonalds Malaysia beef patty don't smell of blood or Malays would call "hanyir". The chicken as well doesn't leave a stinky smell on your hands like other McDs in the rest of the world. It's part of the Halal food preparation where blood is cleaned out totally from the meat.
When I got sick like fever I personally ask my friend to buy me mcd porridge in Malay we called it bubur, when pronounce it we called it “buubo” the r sound dissapear😂 only in malaysia have porridge sometimes when rainy season or in the middle of the night Malaysian like to fill their tummy with warm stuff like soup or porridge. So when u feel like to eat something hot and warm at mcd just order porridge. Not too heavy meal actually. Just add pepper and salt😅.
