Coming out signified my acceptance of being gay, but unresolved issues from my past were clearly still present. I'm sharing my story publicly now for all those people who aren’t able to tell their story yet. This is much bigger than me and my own personal narrative.
About this video:
Why the hell am I sharing my story and all of this personal information?
Well, I've actually told my story many times over the years - just not this publicly!
The content has largely stayed the same in parts, but the overarching narrative has definitely shifted as my understanding deepened.
Coming out signified my acceptance of being gay, but unresolved issues from my past were still present.
I’ve been blown away by the messages I’ve received over the last year, not only of support, but of empathy and understanding.
From people who resonate so much with I’m saying.
It’s become clear to me that this is no longer telling my story for myself. But actually, this is much bigger than me and my personal narrative.
I am sharing my story publicly for all those people who aren’t able to tell their story yet. And I believe that is so important.
Even if it inspires just one more person it’s worth it.
Thanks for watching!

About this series:
Throughout the series I'll talk about important topics relating to mental health, sexuality and identity. Issues that my friends, my community, my family and I - we're all going through. But you don’t necessarily see much open discussion about online.
I believe fully in the transformational and healing power of combining key therapeutic principles. Different practices, techniques and tools that help us uncover underlying beliefs, behaviours and thoughts.
I am by no means a mental health specialist, or a qualified psychotherapist, but I am someone who has been through something transformational and can, touch wood, offer a glimmer of hope to others who might be experiencing something similar.
