Yes king. Older people always say, "you're so pretty you must have men hitting on you all the time" and im like.... "y'all know men don't pursue women anymore, right?" it's so annoying. this is the real problem with dating today. a guy and I will be staring each other down all night (at a bar, at a show, at the gym, etc) but they won't come up to me and then I leave going, "oh well". I understand I could go up to him, but why won't he come up to me? Men used to pursue. Now they expect women to pursue them. I hate that shit.

My ex boyfriend expected to be chased. Throughout out his childhood he grew around women who would take care of him and taught not to give anything in return. His father was absent primarily but I found out that the father expected his kids to chase him and contact him. I tried to teach him and make him realise, even proposed therapy but to no avail. Don't waste your time ladies and always look at their families first.

I find that a lot of men these days are much more insecure than they used to be. Sure, nobody likes rejection, but to me, when men are soooo terrified to approach a woman in person, and they onlyyyy know how to talk to women online, that's a problem. The art of being able to read one another in person & picking up non-verbal cues is disappearing, the art of courting, the art of romance....oh it's definitely still out there, but you gotta look a lot harder, wade thru a lot more bs than is necessary. In my opinion, but anywayyyy....we all need to get out of our own way sometime. Myself included. Ijs🤔❤️☺️

I once had a dude tell me,he was waiting for me to call him first, we both had each other's number. That was a big turn off for me. If you have to wait for someone else to do something and if you are not that confident to take the lead as a man, then it is not going to work for me. Im use to men taking the lead and making the effort when I show interest.

the whole thing is toxic.. its rampant.. I think men and women need more self reflection and healing. true feminine and masculine dynamics don't need to chase or need to be caught. 99% of humans need more self development so they can actually be in healthy relationships. there is alot of narcissistic behavior and self worth issues in the current dating community.

I decided to try a dating app and one time I talked to a guy for a little and decided to exchange numbers. This guy asked me for my social media info. When I told him I didn’t have Instagram he responded with “I don’t think you realize I’m looking for something serious. The problem with many men is they have too many distractions and options. A traditional older woman like myself is not interested in a grown man's drama. Either he wants you or he doesn't. Men and women have a right to reject someone in any stage of dating. Just because we show we are interested doesn’t mean the other person has to be interested in us. The entitlement of someone’s else’s attention, time and energy is a good place for a self reflection point. No one is entitled to anyone.. we need to learn that rejection in life is normal. This is where common sense and using one's discernment comes into play. People if they care for one another will show interest. If they are not showing interest address it, if the response is a minimization of the concern or nonchalance then that is your answer. There should never be a point where anyone, man or woman is killing themselves to show affection or interest and the other individual shows none. That is just simple respect and a standard of morals. Lacking those attributes is a red flag. Doesn't mean they are bad people but may signal they are not the person for you.

Why is it when a man starts to feel attraction towards a woman the man starts to act weird and distant?! I never can get past this point with a man because i reciprocate that energy back and ignore him too, after all that im the one who is a "bit**" it seems I am cursed with men, men only admire me from afar. I agree we shouldn’t be chasing anyone, if we both truly like each other chasing is unnecessary, that only shows it’s from fear or they’re playing mind games to try to draw you closer/simply not interested. Also people put way too much ego into relationships, it’s sad how materialistic and self entitled people are nowadays, it’s kinda ruining relationships because people only focus on what they get out of it and what they have to gain rather than just going in with the intention to love and be genuine with one another. I wouldn’t want to be with someone that settles for me because I check all his boxes, nah we need to settle for the type of love where they can’t imagine being without you regardless of your status, role in society, bank account, etc.

Social media made men 10x more insecure and afraid to pursue women. Before it, men built up there confidence approaching and pursuing women. This new generation of men don’t exercise this as much so they try to reverse roles to avoid rejection. I have no problem showing a man I’m interested when he pursues but a lot would rather bait you into pursuing them. They want you to ask them out n make the plans..they want you to bring substance to the convo after texting you an emoji. last guy I dated was “shy” it was a big turn off I told him he wasn’t for me. 2 years later I bump into him and he’s complaining about dating & not getting any. So I say I’m sure you can get plenty of women. He’s handsome n the type most women would find attractive here he go “I’m shy” (sucks teeth) this man 40 years old. No confidence. Terrified of women like he’s in high school. It’s a shame.

I also appreciated how you exposed the fact that some men seek women they aren’t all that into, because they are seeking certain benefits that come with a committed relationship with a woman. Here’s my issue with the whole I am a prize thing. It comes from a place of extreme ego and there’s just no room for that in a long term connection. If you want to say, anything is the prize, the relationship, the connection which involves two people is the prize. But saying that there’s a prize at all makes it seem like there’s something to be won. And anytime there’s something to be one that implies competition in a competition always has the end, right? But love is a journey, so what happens when you supposedly win each other do you say OK that’s it what do we do now or do you take every day as a lesson and create a compassionate journey with each other?

In my experience a lot of men/women who aren't ready are going after people who have worked on themselves and are healed and whole, they don't want to do the work themselves but are upset if they're rejected. Who we're with in a relationship affects us in all aspects of our life, I've proven this, and I'm currently working on myself so I can be the best version of myself in a relationship and also healing my mind so I can be in the best position mentally when choosing a mate.

Potential for a relationship was there but he did not understand why the man should pursue the woman, etc. He felt that should not be the man's "job" to do this. I decided to part ways, unfortunately. It was nothing personal but his perspective helped me to realize that we had differences in core values. And he was not the person meant for me. He is still a great person, we are just on different dating journeys at the moment.

Omg! YES Stephan! I have seen that men now are now looking for women to chase them. This is no lie! It IS happening! Very sad and disappointing this is where we have come to, but I’m just happy I’m not in a relationship with any man that refuses to put in the effort and thinks it’s my responsibility to do every thing for him. I’ll pass! And men chasing me - that’s a constant! Men chase me 24/7. It’s annoying no doubt but it just shows you how they feel about themselves and they obviously don’t feel that great if they feel like chasing is the answer. These guys are very insecure, codependent, have low self esteem….its all a turn off. Very sad they feel that way about themselves but they really need to work on themselves instead of chasing someone else and they are not in a good place to entertain a relationship.

'Chasing' vs reciprocating interest is like a cat chasing the lazer (gas) light and never catching any substance in that time. Sometimes what you think you 'caught' is a role in a game for attention/validation not a healthy mutual caring-respectful relationship.

Okay it was one sided my boyfriend broke up with me saying that he couldn’t give me what I wanted. I reached back out and we got back together. This time he introduced me to his family and said he saw marrying me and fell in “love” with me. But things got difficult and we butted heads and argued for a month and then he said I’m not sure about you and I’m no longer in love with you. “ I was strong when you were uncertain, now I need you to be strong”. I need you to put in the effort, the next day he tells me he has gone cold and doesn’t feel heard or understood anymore. A month later he said he wanted out of the relationship and wasn’t sexually attracted to me anymore.

He just honestly doesn’t care and not serious about the situation at hand, but will entertain you for sex purposes. Was just in a situation like this he begged to be given another chance and did the bare minimum with it, I had to go. Walked away after wasting time (literally) not in the business of wasting precious time at this big ole age!

The benefits is a good one. I think one guy who despite being overweight and alcoholic but having money and being popular, wants me to chase him so he can brag to common friends that I am after him and puff up his ego even more. Nope, I’m not interested in him with the way he is behaving, especially saying things like “I don’t date single mothers”, trying to manipulate me into thinking he is above me. What a jerk.

You are so right. Woman can have a education, job, incomes, kids on her own and raise them too. So real question is: what he can do to be a partner to her? Being one of her kid to raise or teenager to teach is not right answer. No woman needs or wants to chase a man just for to have another kid on the table to feed. I think there alot more situations out where alot of males have bought into the manosphere ideology, like you said some are afraid to seem weak or vulnerable so even if they like the woman its all about gaining power leverage and juvenile manipulation tactics. I think when women say we are the prize we are saying that we don’t pursue a man at first sight, we expect the man to “be brave” and make the first move. making the first move as a woman like asking a man on a date just isn’t feminine. But men are taking in the wrong direction thinking that we want them to chase us while we do 0 work as a woman because of their past trauma with women who used them. That is not what we mean when we say we are the prize.

Dont live in fairytale land. If he is making you chase him that's called playing games. Lil boys play games, like hide & seek. grown men are up front about what they want. If you have to chase after anyone it is a sign that they are not ready to be in a relationship. They are scared of commitment or either they don't feel secure enough to be with you. If a woman meets a man and starts noticing red flags about him ( usually immature men) she starts pointing out things about him or his behavior. That's actually how running & chasing starts. One of the person in the relationship is not mature enough to handle the relationship so they run. Like fight or flight when a person is afraid of something or someone either they will fight or flight.

My very experienced family doctor told me that today's humans are more fragile, with less-self-esteem and stability. We also have worse quality food which is weakening. Also beverages, Red Bull f ex and all that coffee. A trauma/Attachment coach says that trauma will reverse our sex roles, gender-natural behaviours according to the male - respectively female hormones.John Gray explains it well too.

When he said that some men will put in effort and then say "It's your turn" gave me so much feminine energy. From a biblical perspective, "it's your turn" negates sacrifice. The purpose for relationships is to be a physical & spiritual reflection of the love Christ had for the church. (Eph 5) HUSBANDS LOVE YOUR WIFE EVEN AS CHRIST ALSO LOVE THE CHURCH, AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR IT", not He expected something in return. Men who think like this don't understand the assignment. Personally I love being alone. Always have. A good relationship is a bonus, but I always end up disappointed or heartbroken. It's really just not worth it to me. People are disposable now. No one seems to want real commitment. Getting attached just isn't worth it anymore unfortunately.

Don't get me wrong, we have expectations as to how to be treated and what not. However, when people keep on disappointing you, that's where the line must be drawn. No one has time to keep putting trust into a person or individuals and all they keep doing is mess up. That's not to say that you've got a story in your head about a person and that story isn't how you expected it to be. I learned that a long time ago to not create a story in your head when you haven't read the first page. I totally get what you're saying, because as people were wired a certain way and when we don't get what we want and or need, we fill that with something that will help us move on from whatever has caused us hurt, pain, and unfortunate disappointments. Very interesting content! I’m writing with a guy who I’ve known for 2 years. We met in person and started out as very good friends (we live in two different countries now). He is great and honest. But, not the best when it comes to communication. Some days, I don’t hear from him, which makes me a bit uncomfortable as I don’t know if, he is serious, or not… why is it so hard to find someone trustworthy in today’s generation?
