Great start :) However, I'm not convinced why video format comes later than podcast. Fridays are Hardfork days and I want to have access to both formats so depending on my schedule I choose one.

The room has a darker wall colour, maybe put bright things on it? 🖼️ Love the motherboards! MKBHD had a studio full of light and it was bright and pleasing to look at. Edit: Upon completing the video, I think that this background is actually soothing to the eyes and good for low light vieweing that is viewing at night...
Guys I love the natural flow of thoughts without the need of reading some text on the computer. It shows how well prepared and passionate you are about tech.

Nice to see the faces behind the voices! Loved Casey bobble head during Marquez’s interview. Zaddy pics were 🔥. NY Times needs to give you guys a less drab “studio”, or add some splashes of color to the walls. Honestly though, thank you guys for the awesome shows you put together. Very educational, entertaining, and intelligent!
Love the video aspect but feeling like the set could be a lot cozier/more thematic, especially in the individual shots where the walls are just bare behind you guys. Looking forward to more episodes though :)
Been a loyal listener since last year and so glad to be able to see comments to the videos! Came here to look at the Dall-E teddies and daddies. Thank you for not adding weird sfx to make the video formats fancy - some podcasts add these dramatic sfx which make them quite annoying to listen to. I would be quite motivated to give some sections a rewatch for visual-exclusive content!
Congrats on the launch of the channel!🎉 Something occurred to me as I was listening to Marques talk about mixed reality. I wonder how long it will be before we get mixed generated reality. I’m picturing having the ability to change my surroundings into whatever prompt I provide (or based on my mood, or whatever the input will be in the future). When Zuck and Lex Fridman had their recent Metaverse tour, the black background was pretty boring. I couldn’t help but think of the setting being generated. 🤷 Thanks for the awesome content!
I love that you guys are on youtube. I have a rather dark moment that happened recently to me about social media being bad for your health. I think that lawsuit on Meta will expand to adults. I personally had a moment of mental health crises and the ad’s from Audible on FB and IG literally showed me images like guns and other “the end of life” stuff and I was like wow, the algorithm thinks suicidal people need to see guns. Scary. I took screenshots of these ad’s because I could not believe it was doing that, when anyone is having mental health concerns we should not be a target for social media ad algorithms.

OK so this is going to the first and ONLY time I consume the Hard Fork Experience as video not audio. It's just too weird to make this transition after listening to every show since the start. Now I can't unsee Casy and Kevin but I'm hoping maybe if I go back to listening only as I cycle in to work, my brain will forget this, like a surpressed trauma episode. Guys your playful yet thoughtful chit-chat is enough for me I don't need visuals! Love your podcast thank-you! Maybe get some plants?
Meta conducting a study on the effects on youth is just inviting a discovery request in a lawsuit. They would have been better off not running a study if they were going to ignore it, or worse, double down after seeing the results.
I really like the visual component. The scrolling ability at the bottom allows me to see when something good is happening and I should watch (Kevin talking) and something bad is happening and I can fast forward (Casey is talking).
I think features need to be more universally good for people who aren't even kids, damn it. No, not even television is actually better than RU-vid, the opposite, in fact.
I think that artists need to come together as a union without expensive overhead studios that musicians made the mistake of doing, and seek out a non-greedy solution that AI companies will basically ignore and go around them because it's way cheaper than the greedy 'solution'. Musicians charge way too damn much to use their content on a site like RU-vid, look that shit up, then look up the profit margins for videos most RU-vidrs, streamers, etc. have for how little they'd play each damn song. It's priced like it's gonna be a in a fking blockbuster movie. They're so insanely greedy and dumb. Look at the sites charging for API and the controversy of just how expensive they are for the little to nothing services accessing them made. There needs to be an overall rewriting of copyright law and all other things in the same field that we believe are the same. Patent trolls, DMCA abusers, rich criminal assholes shutting down journalists and content creators with frivolous lawsuits that the person getting sued can't possibly obtain the funds to sue them for damages assuming they can even survive until they prove that they didn't do sh*t, Nintendo literally suing their most passionate fans and people who wanna play their games to the point that they'll be literally wage-slaved (wage garnishing of this degree itself is just heinous). So much could be solved by systems allowing consumers to just pay for access to the music and gain these other version of songs on RU-vid and elsewhere (limited access prior to paying). Then for videos, in context of such things as 'reaction' content, consumers with access to the original content on sites and use an in-built RU-vid and Twitch integration with PiP to access these site's original video and sync it with a signal from the RU-vidr or Streamer's video so no fundamental problem is had there at all, as no one is giving access to paid content under the table. Similarly, you could not only try out opt-out'ing, metadata in the generations signifying the AI platform, possibly prompt, and if there's an artist match, having software made by these companies to detect matches to certain artists styles and such, having the AI platforms and all platforms the AI stuff can be posted on force proper labeling and attribution of certain content, levying charges for certain uses of copyrighted content, both on the users, and on the platform if it's getting used ___ much, etc.

I generally greatly enjoy your podcast, but this episode re the As G (or whichever) struck me as unreasoned nanny state pontificating. You're basically arguing that making a product enticing is a sin. Next up: ice cream with no flavor, cars without horsepower. And where else is this then headed? Louisiana-style age verification and the end of anonymous browsing and various governments and corporations knowing exactly what you see and who you are. You sound like DeSantis and his crusade against books and gays to "protect the children."
Marques giving advice he clearly doesn't follow himself (for the better). Waveform has gotten much better since relaxing and adding silly bits and intros. I love Hard Fork for the same reason.

The poison picture thing reminds of that app that you can run your photos though which claims to imperceptible alter faces so face recognition software/platforms won't be able to connect it to the actual people - and so a few of those altered photos would supposedly poison the already cached training data for those people. Also I have to say, great topic to debut your video episodes. Better than just having the images verbally described. Keep those zaddy pics coming! Even animated, I appreciate it.
I never miss an episode of the podcast, but usually listen while I’m walking, so probably won’t watch whole episodes on RU-vid. But I’ll come back to RU-vid to watch things like the Dall-E 3. The hot dads BBQing were great, but I think Casey is hot himself! And I liked watching you two talk for a while (and whoever told you to keep your hands still, don’t listen to them-I love the gesturing!). Oh-One problem: the commercials cut in randomly, often when you’re in mid-sentence. Can’t you get them to come in during topic breaks?
I think for VR and glasses and such, the computers need to move AWAY from the face, and not just for looks or weight reasons, that's dangerous. They obviously need to be displaying the content, as well as have some degree of sensors for interaction, but can make use of other small pieces, or have the main hunk in a pocket, or backpack, or some other on-your-person storage (BRING BACK FANNY PACKS).
Alright look I love both of you and I’m a die hard listener… and this is meant to be funny so don’t get twisted.. But I always thought Kevin would be the buttoned-up one visually, based on his voice. And I feel like Casey capitalized on that and donned a button up because he doesn’t have kids for the first RU-vid show. Shame on you Casey. Kevin is busy.
Airpods were opinion, they're just another thing that increasing amounts of people had in their ears. Impairing the line of perfect eye-contact and the surrealism of a giant hunk of plastic on someone's head with wires is just too new and different all at once. Eye contact has proven to be the second most important form of contact for people than an actual physical face-to-face meeting.
