You mean fluid passive ballast systems! Smaller ships are fitted with side rudders that can only offset so much pressure without ripping off if used wrongly!!! Modern ships have 3/16th of an inch plating!!! Explains why the sides of older ships are concaved in like egg cartons!!! On a large aircraft carrier active pumps speed up the rebalancing, but chews up power & wear & tear on the massive pumps! Better hull design means everything, instead of righting it's wrongs!!! S when looking at poor design lok to a Battle cruiser taht lost it's bow off the Allusions during WW2!!! Pounding down on the crest at distance put so much stress on the bow it sheared off just in front of the 1st turret!!! A mega wave plowing over the bow of a US super carrier will be so heavy it may do the same thing!!!

You should do more research on the topic, there is a lot more that was left out of this video. The Nimitz class aircraft carriers' runways are not armored like previous versions, because the guns don't allow anything to get close enough to cause damage to the hulls. They also can outmaneuver smaller ships to the degree that during weapons testing they had to stop the ship, because the wake it created caused waters too rough for the other smaller boats participating in weapons testing. The guns are absolutely insane. No one in their right mind would ever get anywhere near them even if they were a suicide bomber, because it is so well known that no one is going to get close enough to do damage.

Doing whatever they would be doing without the waves, but a little slower.

They would never be hit by such a wave, but even if they were, it might flip over but it isn't sinking. I also don't think you realize how tall those ships are.

They basically already have that but they are metal balloons, and they are called air tight rooms. The titanic had 20 or so, these ships have hundreds of them. The ones on the titanic didn't have lids so water could spill from one section to the next, these ships have lids on their air tight rooms.

These ships have hundreds of sections that can be sealed off and all of them have lids. You could remove almost the entire hull and the ships wouldn't sink.

@@ripn929707 In open ocean a tidal wave is like an extended swell at massive speed! If facing the wave the bow will reef up at a jaring rate! Then as the wave passes the middle of the wave the bow will crash down with enrmious force & likely submerge! As it tries the rise back up the massive tonnage of water on the deck cant run off fast enough!!! & this is not like some pissy little waves during a big storm!!! If hit part side on the bow or stern will spin away & the ship will be side on forcing a possible roll! Expect to lose all planes on deck & the ones in the hanger will break free to move down hill, adding to the roll!!!

The swell in deep water is nothing.the power is in the length of the swell. When it gets to shallow water it rises up, slows and gathers volume.... absolutely nothing you said is true.

@@ripn929707 Tidal waves in open sea look like very fast moving hump like swells! so 30'+ high & 60+ MPH is to be expected, as minimums! They don't crest like waves till in shallow water! Due to bottom drag!!! The Japan tidal wave had already entered shallow water & run up a narrow harbour funnel! Breaking it into multiple smaller 15+' high waves!!! They returned to longer shallower form once the ran over land, where drag reduce the speed!!!
