I just imagine casual players being destroyed but then the enemy team have to face the raid boss Giru who immidiatley rage quits after being killed by archers
It's the exact same wall Chivalry ran into. High-level play has literally just become exploiting the game engine, something that I think could largely be solved by just capping acceleration and not allowing damage until the swing animation actually mid-swing. As it stands right now you learn how to play the way the game was initially intended (ie. blocking, chambering, looking for openings and mistakes, etc.) only to be greeted by naked guys flailing around with messers and frying pans that you can't seem to block because they hit before the animation even begins. When that's the new-player experience and they're just told "git gud" or "to just play duels and learn", they'll just stop playing because people want the realistic medieval "fps" they're being sold and that's not what it is right now.
I'm a new player, only around lv 30 or so, and most games for me end up being a kill-death of around 5 to 20, but for whatever reason I still keep coming back, I do genuinely enjoy the game. The worst thing for me is feinting, like I have no idea how I'm supposed to counter them because I inevitably go to parry the first attack and get hit by the second.
I would quit the game if they did that. If that happens the whole game is going to be the same boring ripost trade no matter who are you fighting. I hate how parries in this game work as it is, I wouldn't tolerate if they removed creativity for swings too.
Dude fucking fact. I was a few clans back when Mordhau was “big” and i was trying mad hard to go competitive. But clowns like Giru, Stouty, and the community en masse did what they do best. I’m also just gonna say it, the devs fed this. Listened far too much to the wrong advice and distanced themselves from inviting new players by catering to the no-lifers
Benton Pellet You didn’t have what it takes , get over it. You’re a clown if you thought this game wouldn’t end up like Chivalry. And how are you going to call people no lifers when you were in clans trying to go competitive lmfao.
@@captainbean3114 Sorry to ask, but you guys blame him for what reason exactly? For making the game enjoyable to watch? For having fun while destroying others? Maybe for making other players quit a game dominated by a memer? I'm honestly wondering because I got here from swords comparisons videos. I just wanted to have a laugh reading arguments between katana and longsword fanboys. But to begin with, this game was only big because of the initial release hype. The premise was amusing and "fresh" enough to attract casuals that buy games just to play for a few hours and then uninstall them. This is really common. It happens with other multiplayer games as well. And let's face it, a medieval battling game is a very niche game. Obviously the player base wouldn't be massive anyway (so the way to survive it would be by having a strong and loyal user base). At most this guy is actually making more people give this game a shot (and then they will realize how hard it is to do these things and actually praise the game). By the way, he's not even a dickhead. I could understand the anger if he were saying mean stuff to the players etc. But he's just joking around while kicking some asses. Only the most special kind of snowflakes can get mad over this. From what I interpreted, apparently you guys had all the motivation in the world to dethrone this "clown" and make your little swords game look "credible" and stay "alive", but apparently you guys couldn't. Blame yourselves for quitting the game just because a "clown" obliterates 99% of the player base while vaping and laughing. Coming up with excuses for not being good enough to go deep competitively is just pathetic. And really, someone who tries "mad hard" to become a pro player in a game like this can't call others "no-lifers". I really didn't follow this part. What exactly makes these guys no-lifers? Why would you be the opposite of a no-lifer? I really don't get it.
@@captainbean3114 Don't hate the player hate the game. It's developers' duty to make the game fun and coherent in it's principles. The problem with Mordhau is it's uninspired and didn't gave a clear vision from the start. They have tried to fix Chivalry without a vision of their own and that is why the game ended up being really stale. In many ways it is even worse than Chiv despite both being broken shovel ware games.
0:26 That's exactly why it should have been more popular. I got a lot of friends into the game and even though they suck at it, they have fun and the antics always make them laugh. Mordhau has ridiculous meme potential, but you wouldn't know that from seeing the super serious store page.
The reason it died for me was that you couldn't do fun things in it anymore because the meta had changed. There was certain loadouts that were better than others and it caused the game to get stale.
In Australian servers it's always easy to notice if a game is dying. There are just as many active servers as there were a year ago give or take. Over holidays and straight after big patches these numbers change, but otherwise it's pretty consistent. It's a niche game with lots of overly competitive full-time gamers. This is going to instantly put of a lot of more casual gamers, or even gamers that don't have as much time to remain competitive. That being said, there is a decent number of roleplay/meme build characters that just play for the lols which keeps these numbers steady, but the lack of casual gamers means that numbers don't ever really grow that much.
Hey Giru I’ve been watching your recent VODs and I hope you upload parts of that first play through of the horror game with Rise hitbob and Frank. I’m not a huge fan of steams but I watched the entire thing and loved it.
Let’s be honest this game “died” because the devs put out like one update every three months and then their eastern dlc added just a few maps and one weapon like what?
Hey Giru, I tryied looking it up but couldnt find anything, so I'm gonna try asking u here: what should I do if i wanted to play some tdm scrims like you do in these clips? Thank you and have a nice day
For the Bannerlord dueling clip, ranged weapons are banned in the forum post that has the server password. Probably why they got salty, even though a single throw won't ruin the server.
I think people who have Giru’s elitist mentality killed the game. Plus idk why he’d complain about the dwarves, and the player base being nothing but trolls. When he uploads videos doing the exact same thing.
some people play to troll other like competetive but the ones who killed the game r the devs for not reacting.. they had players like Giru for free who showed how many exploits there and that the game is fucked up and they did nothing at all.. they had just one job let competetive players find all the exploits and again "for free" then fix the bugs but its too late
Man I so much loved watching you meme rocking and destroying that sweaty tryhard of Stouty. That guy is full of ego and brags with low experience players. You showed him who's the boss.
