What changed you so much? I didnt watch your videos for a long time and I can say you changed a lot, you were much more happy in Alaska, way more happy! Is it kids, that place, what changed?

It’s so crazy to realize just how long I’ve been watching you. Literally seeing you grow and change into the amazing person you have become! Sending you guys all my love!

Some people in life are meant to tell a story. Corey, you are one of these people! You have a way of conveying things that can captivate everyone! You have such a beautiful family! I remember the pre Chell days. It’s been so inspiring to watch your family grow over the years. Also, you have great hair!! 😊

My very first memory of watching youtube as a kid was watching the videos you made when you first started moving to Alaska. I just spent half an hour searching to find you again and see what you are up to. I hope life is good and will get better for you.

Gosh you have grown so much. I remember when I first started watching you. Back when you posted the song with Sparta for mean kitty. To things with Kate to Alaska to here now. You have grown and gone through so many ups and downs. and where you are now you generally seem so calm; relaxed and happy. It's been a treasure to watch.

I found this channel in late 2015, maybe early 2016. I had just moved to Wichita, a place I hated, for family reasons. I had left Alaska in 2009 and was longing to move back but couldn't find work that wanted someone from out of state. I used to watch this channel, watching you get super excited about the new things you were experiencing and me remembering the first time I experienced those things. I used to live in both Anchorage and Eagle River and knew exactly what part of town you were in when you pulled the drone above your house. I remember thinking, "Oh, I know where he lives, I know that area". Then we finally got out of tornado alley and moved to Oregon in late May 2017, just before you moved to OK. In fact, I had considered moving to Tulsa because we had an office there and there are more hills there than Wichita. But we went to Oregon, hoping it would be a compromise for Alaska. It turned out it wasn't quite the same. In 2020 I found a job in the valley and moved back to AK. We've watched this channel ever since we first found it. It was bittersweet for me. We have definitely thrown rocks on Edmund lake. Unfortunately, these days you can't really ride through campbell creek or earthquake park without risk of homeless encampments all over. But for the record, I hate the yardwork crap. And now we have an acre of land we have to cut. And you know how it is up here, there's enough rain that you sometimes have to cut it twice a week.

Cory, I've been watching you since the early SMP days which eventually turned into the early DLH days. All these years later, I still love coming back to your content when I just need to kick back and relax. Thank you for continuing to provide content through the years and letting us evolve with you!

Cory, you're not an idiot. You always made us smile and make us happy... It's so funny coming back to your videos from time to time and seeing you. It's as if I'm meeting an old friend...Dude now I'm married, and i watched you since I've been a teenager. I'm so so sooo grateful that you were there in my darkest times and in my brightest times. I am so glad to see that you're enjoying your life. But, all i can say is that I am so proud of you, like hella proud. I also want to tell you not to regret anything from the past, because those experiences got you to where you are today. A beautiful house, wife, and kids. Stay awesome, dude. I've watched you since you got married the first time, and this is the first time I've heard you share about this aspect of your life, about the fear and the yard work. I relate to this, only about housework. And I've done a lot of therapy and trauma-related work, too. I've noticed that lately, I'm doing housecleaning because I feel a sense of satisfaction when it's done, not because of all the angst that went on when I was growing up. So thank you for talking about this. I'm glad you're still posting, occasionally.

Thanks for sharing some off the deep stuff, even something as sensitive as showing your inner child trauma... even when you're older then me I feel like comforting that child and tell him what amazing human being he's going to be in adulthood and how proud he should be, and how proud the one causing the **** to you should be instead of... and How proud he should be of wanting a change and off all the things he will accomplish in live, and how proud everyone should be about him, without a good example at all, becoming the most amazing father and family man. U deserve all the happiness

Mowing is my therapy. For all the adhd reasons. I always feel so much better after being with my lawn for a few hours. Hard work but love the sweat/workout I get. I will always look forward to the day I get to stand in front of you and tell you exactly the impact you had on my life. Weather it happens in this life, or on the "other side" I cant wait for that! You and your family are so beautiful. By some slim chance you are curious about some of your fans, my husband is also a "youtuber". The hustle is very real for him. OldeCarrAutoGuy :) Just look for the beard!

I am so happy you are vlogging again. Have been following you since Dude like Hella days when you first moved to Alaska, and I lived in CA. Now I live in Kansas City. Love seeing how cute and creative your kids have become. I believe it takes maturity in adulthood to look back and wonder how anyone could have treated us the way they did when we were children by being around children when we are adults. And only with that understanding comes the healing. If that makes any sense. Im enjoying how green it has been here in the Midwest. We have the best libraries too. Very happy for you all, and grateful you share your heart because you are not alone in living life post trauma. Our families can destroy us unless we choose to let go and move forward.

When we lived in our local town, growing up my dad used to do patterns in the grass. Parallel lines or made it like a chess board without the pieces or lines going sideways down the grass from corner to corner one side then the other. I loved it. Due to it I was always asking to learn how to mow the grass. To this day as an adult if I am allowed I love mowing the grass. We live in the middle of the countryside now with a huge, huge lawn.

I never did any mowing until 2012 when Dad died. I was taking care of the house till it sold. I found that I enjoyed it. I also felt like I was still taking care of him for awhile longer. I also have a large yard to mow now. I’m a 68 year old lady and it’s a bit of a struggle but I will do it as long as I can and then probably get a riding mower.

I am so glad you’re vlogging again 🥰 it’s like an old friend coming back into your life .

It's hard to get away from a negative past and turn it into a positive and creative life. You've done that. You are, in fact, making a living from being creative. Now, you can look back at all those bad names and people who were negative and tell them they were so wrong about you. You don't have to tell them to their faces, but you can tell them in your mind. Maybe even in your video games. 😊😊👋👋❤❤

One of the things I always connected with you with was that you had a similar childhood as I did but unfortunately my abuse led into my entire adult life and didn’t end till just recently when he died. I spent my whole life protecting my family from my own father and now that it’s finally over I don’t know what to do with myself. Im trying to stay busy with rebuilding the home he destroyed and taking care of my mother! Keep being an awesome father I’m proud of you man!

As we get older, we tend to dive deeper into our pasts for healing and a change of perspective in life. We men do enjoy simple tasks like mowing the lawn to accomplish something. While it may seem like a mediocre task to some, for others like you said, it can be hypnotic. All the senses are being used, the touch of the mower, the hearing of the motor and the smell of the freshly cut grass. As someone who also has ADHD (and neurodivergent), it’s the small mundane things that makes me feel successful. You’ve definitely grown more mature since tent in an apartment and hands in a toaster. I remember growing up when I was old enough to handle the lawnmower cause we had a self-propelled one and it was powerful. My brother he hated doing the lawn, he would purposely mess up the rows just so nobody would ask him to do the lawn any more. I actually liked mowing however, I do not like edging. However, I do not mow my lawn anymore I have somebody to do it for me. I just don’t have the energy I used to. I’m just glad that my lawn now is nowhere near as big as the one I grew up with.

Yippee! First viewer! First commenter! Lotsa clovers! Also, mowing is an instant gratification effort. You can clearly see the effect of your efforts immediately, especially if you have let it grow higher before mowing.

This makes me think of my old high school english teacher. He said "We are all stupid, but some of us want to learn, I am here for them" The yardwork tho, well my grampa told us that he saw pirates burying treasure in his allotment. We never did find it but his garden still got dug up ready for potatoes :P

The mower sound for you is music for me... I don't know if you believe this or not, but i believe you are a Light Worker sent to earth to spread joy and happiness. To share a message to all. It comes naturally to you to be a voice and share your stories. Or you're just Cory and you have the biggest heart and are a special kind of person. Regardless, you always inspire me.

Love mowing. I get alot of thinking done. I just wished i wasn't allergic to grass. I have memories of Dad having us run into the house to go get him a beer while he mowed

Mowing is great because it's a relatively simple task that leaves you with a feeling of accomplishment when it's over. You don't do a lot, but it can also be quite the workout at the same time with how much walking, pushing, and just being in the sun. Obviously you have to remember to take an occasional break and hydrate regularly, but while it's not a lot of work, you feel like you get a lot done, too. You can also see the progress of your work, too, which is huge because sometimes you're just doing this thing and it feels like you're not getting anywhere even though you're actually doing a lot, but with mowing, you can actually see instant results. It's just gratifying. Until the next video, Peace, Love, and SMP. :)

Cory you are right cutting the lawn is therapeutic my wife just discovered it too and now only she wants to cut the grass every week! 😂❤

While my therapeutic and relaxing thing isn't mowing the lawn, I totally get it and understand it. When I lived at home with my mother and sister, outdoor work was my responsibility. A sort of escape from tending to a parent experiencing chemotherapy and a sibling that was mentally and physically challenged. It's strangely relaxing to put on your headset as maximum volume and drown out the world with the strong engine of either a lawnmower or snow blower. Now I don't exactly miss dragging either of those things up and down a lawn or driveway that was a borderline 80 degree hill. I also remember meeting, virtually at any rate, you back in the SMP Films days and helping you with a video. Another thing that brought me comfort after my mother and sister passed, was weirdly watching your daily vlogs. Hearing the positive messages you'd say either at the beginning or the end of each video did help me in the long run.

I'm so glad to see your videos again, I've missed watching you, I've been following you since your SMP years.

Well, just don’t let the battery go dead on you in a Tesla while you’re driving because you will not be able to get out because there’s no way to unlock the doors once the battery is dead some people of unfortunately found that out the hard way. Honestly, there’s got to be a lot more done to perfect the electric car industry before I even think about buying one. And my brother used to have a hybrid, he finally got rid of it, after he realized how much it would cost to repair it if the transmission or anything like that went out on it.
