Marcello, have you watched Jack Conte's (patreon's founder) last video? It is even more eye opening than this interview. And I don't say it lightly. I love both Nasdaily and colin&samir
This video deserves an insane more amount of views than it currently has. Nas is literally handing over the key to success on a platter, and yet the RU-vid algorithm has not shown this video to more people. Not only is the video inspiring, but it also provides incredibly insightful information on branding, value props, priorities, personal identity, etc. Hands down one of the most valuable interviews I've seen to date. The fact that it doesn't have more views further emphasizes that RU-vid has reached supply and demand equilibrium.
“If you want to monetize, you want to create content that’s not a commodity. Your looks is a commodity. There are 50Million highly attractive individuals in the world. If you are one of them, that happens to do Tiktok, you are easily replaceable. Find a format of content that is hard to commoditize. Ask yourself, What do I have access to that nobody else in the world has access to?” 👏🏻 GOLD👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hm...didn’t know the guy...learned a lot here, he comes across as a genuine guy, it’s really nice to discover other niches creatives! Keep sharing great content guys. [EDIT] Wow Didn’t expect to end up with that deep of a message, it hits home a specially as a second generation immigrant and a believer in this global tools. Thank you guys for this!
Hey Colin and Samir, I've met Nas and traveled and shot videos with him : in short, i've had the chance to know him a little bit. This interview was amazing, i've learned stuff from him i didn't know ! Great job ;)
1 thing I think people didn’t realize before hearing Nas speak in person or in an interview setting is just how bright he is. He’s not just a video guy, he’s a brilliant entrepreneur and extremely hardworking individual! Keep it up Nas 💪🏻💪🏻 (oh and not to get political but proud you come from Israel!)
Damn this felt like you guys had this gem in your sleeves for a while. Such a great powerful convo wow. Also the quote he mentioned about the best strategy is where there’s not an equilibrium in content yet. It triggered the strategist in me I love it.
I found you guys recently and have watched a few videos now and I have to say, the way you guys structure and ask questions and actually allow the person to answer fully is great.
Amazing as always! The centralized/de-centralized part made me think: The creators and content in social media are decentralized, but the platforms themselves are more centralized as ever. I mean, it’s a handful of algorithms that guide millions of eyeballs, Facebook/Google/YT have most of the traffic from users, etc
"Those who can do, ALSO teach" is a BRILLIANT line. People who create almost have a responsibility not only to share their gift, but try and share the how behind its making with others
The 3 key takeaways I got from this video is 1) Decentralized your creativity and that's the moat for a creator in 2021. 2) Research and find platforms don't have equilibrium eg Clubhouse 1 month back was on 🔥 3) The way a creator Commoditize his/her creativity ,charts an ascension for growth.
Wow, I was very impressed with this video; for starters, I had no idea who Nas was, dang he is killing the game. Second, there are so many golden nuggets in this conversation; I gotta rewatch and take notes. As someone around the creator economy but primarily working in Hollywood, I've dabbled in youtube but never took it seriously until now. I'm seeing the massive shift in media and entertainment and don't want to be left behind. Third, I have been fighting for diversity in Hollywood for over seven years and what Nas said about Arabs only needed in media when there is a terrorist attack is so true. What about all the significant contributions made by people in the Arab community? Luckily these platforms like youtube or Facebook don't have gatekeepers, and anyone can upload, which has changed the game. Now we can see stories from all sorts of people; Hollywood needs to catch up. Colin and Samir, I love your channel! @Nasdaily you rock my friend.
This has got to be one of the best interviews you guys have hosted, not only was Nas incredible but you guys asked such facinating questions and really pulled out the most interesting answers. Keep doing what you're doing 👍🏻
Hey C&S, Dropping a comment to help with the algorithm - albeit in a minuscule way - and more importantly to let you know as someone who has been creating and producing content professionally for more than 3 decades, that I find current, relevant value in your content. I also appreciate the warm, breezy style in which you deliver that content. Thanks for being an inspiration on Monday mornings!
Whoah!!! This video was incredible. Nas's passion and energy oozes through the camera and is REAL. I was deeply touched by what you guys created. Thank you Colin & Samir!
This content just keeps getting better and better! Your switch to more "podcast-style" videos was a great choice. Also, thx for inspiring me to start my own RU-vid channel, keep up the great work.
Those interviews are so valuable and I'm thankful YOU COLIN AND SAMIR are making it possible!! I'm a small RU-vidr but want to.be a creators too but only making video gameplay at the moment. But it's an adventure we are all making through. ♥️
Nas' passion is palpable. It's clear that throughout the entire journey, he remained in control and I believe that's because he knew exactly what he wanted to achieve. Kudos to him. It's pretty apparent how he got into Harvard by this video alone.
Great video guys! Just wanted to drop an idea here. Maybe instead of targeting creators (B2C) on this channel you start targeting VPs and Directors (B2B) and explain to them why they should participate in the Creator Economy. You can give them insight to all these creators you know and help them understand how it will effect their bottom lines as a company. Just some thoughts! Hope all is well with you both.
Thanks for watching Rob really enjoyed reading your posts throughout this past year and learning about all the people you’ve met. I’ll tell Samir about the flow I know he’ll appreciate it ✌🏻
Truly, Colin and Samir are the best interviewers on RU-vid. Nas is 100% correct, Color and Samir's niche is their access to some of the most well known content creators on RU-vid. Can't wait for the next interview.
"Knowledge is the only thing that increases when you give it away" - this is why education is THE most important thing - everybody stands to benefit when we pull each other up.
Really brilliant point about identifying your value proposition to navigate your next entrepreneurial extensions, never conceptualized it like that! Also loved Nas's point about those who can see the next 5 years being the biggest winners, beauty video boys!
My favourite takeaway was the "one person university" point. "I learned to cook from Gordon Ramsey, learned how to be a creator from Naz, learn to code from the lead dev at face book... learn from people who actually do... those who cannot do, teach". I liked everything he said about traditional education institutions, that is just a succinct, quote-able form. Can't believe you guys are at 230k subs... I've been around for so long but never paid attention to that so I don't even know when you blew up. When did you move from the car to a studio, wasn't that like 50k? You guys have a vision on this platform, so your success is no chance and your longevity is more secure. And it's so cool that your vison is to show other people the vision. You guys are the first ones to analyse and research the youtube environment and then document it like this, historians are gonna study this as a part of internet history :)
Wow !! I thought last episode was the best but now this one is the best !! I think it's going to be the best every time a new episode is coming out ! please keep them coming ! "you do have Access"
