This one is GREAT. The size is fantastic and on par with the orig GShock Square. So for those not looking for a chunky watch -this one is it. Looks and clarity is boss.
Have had this for exactly a year. It does everything. So many features. Still want to get the DW290 but can’t justify it at times when this ones does so much more than that, sans the backlight of course, which is where the 290 wins.
I really like my 23 dollar silver model ws1400h paired with the stainless bracelet from the w218hd. Sort of robocop looking. Both have typical 18mm casio spring bars. the timers are fantastic
The last time I said "Meh" about a watch, it was the 007 Omega . Very professional made video, my friend! The first seconds feel like an Casio advertising. So I am looking forward to your next one 👍👍👍
Great review as always. I'm not sure, I'm kind of mixed on this one. The case shape reminds me a bit of the Nautilus with those pointless beefy side wings.
Nice review of the ws-1400. This one is in my daily lineup for work watches. The first thing I did, was loss the strap and replace it with my broken Ft-500w Forester nylon velcro strap. Huge difference! The start/stop and lap reset buttons are perfectly placed for timer function for people who like to cook! 10 out of 10 in my book.
I see I’m not the only one that had problems with the band. I found it had no flex around my wrist knuckle and sat very uncomfortably. I ended up taking that band off, putting it on a nato (made it a very comfy watch), and gave it to my daughter. Good watch but put it on a nato!!!!
Thanks for reminding me about the amazing GI Joe fighter planes ☺️ enjoyed looking them up … but couldn’t really find one that matched the watch , are you sure your not thinking about the battle cat from He Man 😂
I actually own one. It's great for running, especially for interval training since it has lap memory and auto repeat countdown timer. The only draw back is the resin band. It's too stiff for me and because of its shape it applies pressure on my wrist which makes it a bit uncomfortable to wear. Other than that it's a beautiful watch packed with a lot of features.
This is one of the only Casios I've seen that has laps and lap memory so hands down cuz most of the expensive Gshocks don't. Regarding quality you can't go wrong with a Casio.
Nobody talks about those el-cheapo digitals, because they keep running and running for years without ever given you any trouble, they simply do what they are supposed to. Those waches are "dumb" not "smart" (which is great) and they come as close to the perfect EDC time piece as it gets. Most probably the strap will wear and tear before the first battery change and in most cases the watch (unjustified) will end up in the trash and people just buy another.
Everybody raves about the F91W but I don't like it. I think it's a cheap crappy old watch. The W86 is way better or the A168. I think many people bang on about the F91W as a kind of cliquey nostalgic inverse snobbery. I find them pretentious. The awful backlight makes it objectively bad. And it's not event that pretty. To me it looks tired and dated, not retro. If you're going to wear a cheap ugly beater at least get one with a decent backlight. I do like the look of the ones in funky colours but they still have a crappy backlight. Who needs that?
@@RampartPh I don't know about terrorists but there is a TV documentary series called 'Commando' on Netflix about British Royal Marines. I noticed that one of them is wearing a W86 around barracks. I also saw an interview with an ex US Navy Seal who said he was issued with a G-Shock.
@@nathanaelsmith3553 i've read that the f91w was part of a profiling element done by soldiers on Afghan "suspects" during the us-Afghanistan war because it was a regular component of ied bombs due to its cheapness and availability. so understandably they were wary of peeps wearing them. also obama bin laden was regularly photographed wearing this ubiquitous watch supposedly.
I'm not sure why you are watching then. I do agree with you on digital, I find analogue much faster to read at a glance, but have nostalgia for them as I wore a digital as a kid.
