Money made Gundy's decision. Those NIL dollars don't come from the school. Pretty sure the donors that donated a million plus for Gordon wouldn't be happy with him on the bench. Thats the real problem.

So do you think that because players aren't dead broke and exploited that anything goes so long as the players can get out on bail? Actual employers can discipline their people for getting arrested, and schools can do so their students. NIL has nothing to do with this other than Gundy trying to manufacture an out for him only caring about his own job.

Everyone knows someone, if it’s not themselves, that’ll have at least 2-4 drinks and then drive home, often. Drinking and driving isn’t ok and this isn’t excusing it. Im just saying most people here are overreacting and or being hypocritical themselves.

Boy. I’m not sure how many times I’ve listened to David Sampson and agreed with him. He’s my least favourite baseball personality mainly because of the expos. But I digress. David is right on the money with regard to the coach endorsing drunk driving. I’ve lived in Oklahoma. I’ve lived in Kansas. I’ve lived in Iowa. I’ve lived in Nebraska. I farmed and trucked and threw gyp-rock in those states. I understand the alcohol intake lol but that was just not right.

@jefreykoenig he didn’t endorse drunk driving he even said what Ollie did was wrong. And he wasn’t wrong with what he said, how many people you know that go out to dinner or drink at a bar and have 3-4 drinks and then drive afterwards? I seen ppl leave that look sober and some I wonder how they even are going to make it home. A lot of ppl may not feel drunk but if they blew into a breathalyzer they’d be considered drunk driving. Everyone’s bodies are different and affected by alcohol differently. So for ppl to criticize the player for doing it (which he even said was wrong and he made a mistake) it’s hypocritical because a lot of the ppl saying bad things about him most likely have done the same thing before they just didn’t get caught. A 1.0 BAC could literally be 4 mixed drinks in 3 hours, that’s basically a typical football Sunday for most ppl. Clearly the kid shouldn’t have Been driving but everyone most likely has done it before and just didn’t get caught. Should he be suspended, yes, will he? No because we now live in the age of NIT deals so they’re paying him to play, and if they suspend him he can just transfer to another team that will tell him he can play they won’t suspend him. Players now have the power, you’ll see more situations like this.

@heliliger1000 it’s not even because he’s one of the best, if this was 5 years ago he’d be suspended at least 1-2 games. It’s because of his NIL deal so he’s getting paid big money to play, those ppl paying him to play expect him to play, and with being able to transfer and play right away and not have to sit out a year the players have that threat as leverage.
