We, Toyo Olive, are the Japan's small company who dry the olive pomace and harvest the olives that appear in this video. Thanks to Masaki Ishii, the waste discharged from the factory has become valuable feed, and is now circulating around Shodoshima island. Everyone who watched this video, Please come to Japan to eat Olive Wagyu beef someday! Thank you! ARIGATO!
Thank you for showing the world your craft and trade and dedication. My family is planning a visit to Japan in a few years and this is now a TOP priority as my husband greatly enjoys the best beef. Your role in this process is fascinating and I hope to support your local economy soon. Love from the United States (me) and Colombia (my husband). Domo Arigatou!
@@LindseyLouWho Local industries in Japan are supported by many tourists from overseas. Please come and eat olive beef someday. Of course, please come to Shodoshima island as well. I hope you have a wonderful trip. thank you!
You can tell how much he loves his chosen career by how he still consistently checks on the cattle and other parts of his business despite walking clearly being a challenge for him.
@@Jumper4ever93 Healthy? The grass a normal cow eat is literally close to nothing in nutritional value, that's why they eat so much of it. Besides, what does it matter to you when they'll get eaten anyways XD
@@shadowkillz9606 You are of a very poor educational background to not know the grass is herbivores the only one and primarly source of nutrition and not to know the impact of animal's feed on human health. It's better sometimes to keep your mouth shut than to show your ig norance.
@@Jumper4ever93 Apperently their fine and as for suger farmers appaerently feed them candy even as its can be beneficial to cows due to the microbes in their stomach
We need more people like Masaki who genuinely cares about the cattle and environment, and shows that you can still make a good profit using methods that recycles waste.
@@CamAteUrKFC Any normal person can afford that. All we have to do is to limit how much we consume. This is not an every day product. But a once in a lifetime specialty.
I am sorry, but did you say that we need more people like Masaky? Do you actually think that keeping those animal indoors 24/7, denying them the freedom to roam in the field, the taste of fresh pastures, the smell of the open air , the sun on their body is good for the animals? Stroking the animals will not compensate for the cruelty, of the lack of freedom, and unnatural diet. I WOULD NOT EAT THAT MEAT IF IT WAS GIVEN TO ME FREE.
I live in Kagawa Prefecture and seen the Olive field scene several times, breathtaking as always. Despite living in Oliveland I haven’t tasted the famous Olive Beef because it’s expensive. So far I’ve eaten Olive Hamachi (Yellowfin Tuna) and it is exquisite. Olive Hamachi consumes dried olive leaves before consumption. Kagawa is one of the lesser known prefectures but we have great Udon noodles, lots of Bonsai, of course Olives and world class quality Gloves (which where I am working).
@@MADuranDude777 Fashion gloves and sports glove (golf and batting) made with genuine leather and faux leather. Kagawa used to produce gloves for soldiers during the war.
I've heard of Kagawa Prefecture thanks to manga author Soichiro Yamamoto. I was not aware of the food culture present there. Thank you for giving more information about your prefecture! I hope to travel to Japan within the next 2 to 3 years!
I used to live in Kagawa Prefecture, and sadly I just found out about this, but i might visit there again someday just to try the Olive wagyu on the spot. Oh and you are definitely correct about the Bonsai, there were lots and lots of Bonsai in one of the houses I passed by. The udon is 💯💯
Someone needs to make an anime of this man on his quest of creating recycling-oriented organic farming, it would show all the struggles he faced but in the end show that he created the best and most expensive meat in the world. All while representing Kagawa prefecture and making them proud.
It probably takes years of training for the guys who spead the manure on the olive trees to master putting it in the optimal location for perfect growth.
This gentleman treats his animals with the best of everything, and the cows are the best to eat. I took this philosophy with my chickens also. I applaud you sir.
@colecraggs8147 bruh that's life its like you send your child to school and for 12 years your child has to be in the school suffer from school shooting and get loads of homework so you call that too worst part of life
"I asked for a cow instead of a high school diploma" in giving Jack and the Beanstalk vibes (ironically, the cows in the story = the diploma and the beans = his cows). The castle atop the beanstalk = his eventual cattle farm that carved out this niche.

What a sweet (and very smart) farmer taking care and brushing his cows 🐄🐄 Pretty cool, didn't know this form of Wagyu existed. Props to Japan for coming up with those things 🤜🤛
I was just commenting in another thread... it's one thing to care for their well-being, its another to create a bond with an animal you're planning to slaughter... it's morbid.
Oh Wagyu beef, so rich and fine, A taste sensation, oh so divine. Marbled texture, so tender and sweet, A delicacy that can't be beat. From Kobe to Miyazaki, This beef is truly quite unique. Raised with care and fed with grain, A culinary delight, it's not in vain. Savor each bite, let flavors dance, Wagyu beef, a cut above the rest by chance.🥰
in Morocco we have argan trees which grows only in Morocco and no where else in the world . they gave the waste of argan nuts after they take oil from it to goats. the meat of those goat takes soooo good because of the argan nuts
So interesting. I remember about 50 years ago learning of wagyu beef production from a Time Life cookbook, showing the cattle being massaged and fed Sapporo beer. Also, I had no idea Japan raised olives! Thank you for this wonderful video.
"I never thought I'd see the day when I had to take out a mortgage just to afford a steak, but here we are with Olive Wagyu - the ultimate in bovine luxury!"
In my opinion rich people just make things expensive because they don't want to be associated with working class,it's pure vanity,I don't think there is that much difference with Angus beef but for experience do anything
This is not the most expensive beef, the most expensive beef is the one where cows go on a vacation and live in a 5 star hotel, enjoy aromatherapy spa treatments and only eat truffles and caviar...then then go for meditation..and the best part is u can taste all of this in the meat itself
I first tasted Wagyu in 2018. I rarely buy any other type of steak. It is truly, a cherished and delicious meat. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING IT. Walmart, yes Walmart, sells wagyu steaks and burgers.

only 250g a day of the olive feed is nothing. I thought these were fed exclusively on olives whereas in reality it only makes up a very small portion of their diet
What happens when amazing people like Ishii pass away? Who fills their shoes? Too often younger generations simply don't care about these things. Hopefully I'm wrong. Great video.
I'd like to hear scientists speak to if any chemicals in the olives could possibly make their way into the muscle tissue of cows and actually change the taste of the beef. I feel like it would be digested into material indistingushable from many other types of plain feed.
The reason why he starts feeding them olive pulp 2 months before they are shipped out and not all the time is because all animal meat take on flavor of what they eat especially in the last week or so. This is why bears and humans can have various types of tastes.
