Still wrong!! 1. This harms people who actually have diabetes. Especially the people born with it. 2. It’s similar to that of a quick fix. 3. The psychological causes of obesity are not being addressed. 4. Taking medication for a disease you don’t have can have consequences. 5. Will likely gain the weight back after coming off it. The causes are not being addressed. Especially the psychological causes. 6. It’s rewarding bad behavior. 7. Not taking personal reasonability for your own health & fitness by exercising and eating healthy. 8. It’s semi- unethical. It goes against the manufacturers medical recommendation.
Naw, I knew I have heard that line before hahaa like our chicken and eggs all of a sudden. As soon as they figure out a way to limit toilet tissue they will do that also.
I quit junk food & sugar 4 months ago and have lost over 50 lbs. I considered ozempic & wegovy, but it’s just too new of a drug for me. I hope that the craze around this therapy doesn’t cause issues for type 2 diabetics.
Ozempic isn't new. But good job losing weight the best way possible! Hard work and making changes. It's definitely not easy. I've got hormone imbalances and a food addiction I've tried working on. I'm pre diabetic as well. When I was eating extremely healthy fresh foods, meal planning and working out daily with beach body. I was slowly gaining weight.. so you can imagine what happened when I fell into a depression for other reasons and stopped eating correctly and working out. I blew up like a balloon. Now they're offering me Ozempic because my BMI is 43 at this point. I'm not sure if I should take it or not. I want to but am just hesitant.
@@OOO_BARRACUDAAA I know that is so frustrating when you make changes and your body rebels. I have a coworker on Ozempic as a type 2 diabetic and he’s been fine. I think people who can take it and the benefits outweigh the risks should take it. I hope that you get the results you want no matter which method you decide.
after having kids I went down 16kg .by just stop eating junk food and drinks..all healthy natural, walk for 1houRS daily.also at home while watching TV helped and I just in 4months matter ..I don't suggest taking medication to lose weight..specially ozempic has cancer side effect

@@cryntowel @Elias R We can diet and exercise but also use this to accelerate results in cases where people's bodies are resistant to weight loss, as determined by doctors. Of course adjustments to diet and activity level have to happen to build healthy muscle and maintain the effects long term, but taking this off the table is just going to increase the misery for going through someone else's definition of the right way to lose weight. Getting the weight off the joints means people can move more easily and exercising may become less painful and thus more effective. Slowing stomach emptying may help curb cravings because they will feel fuller for longer. People are not made of stone and their morale in this journey matters. When they see a little bit of results when other medications and methods are plateauing in their effects, they can use that motivation to accelerate their progress further. We can mandate that this medication be used only for a set period of time. We can require meetings with personal trainers and dieticians, but in the US, we don't invest in this type of preventative care.
Same here 55 pounds over 8 months - removed processed carbs and sugar fast 12-16 hours every day and have 2 super nutritious delicious meals - I walk and try to do strength training 2 x week - everyone wants an easy way out - it’s not sustainable and the pharmaceuticals contain to make mega billion $ profits
Im glad so far i have gotten it every time... Im type 2 diabetic for the last 20 years. Within 2 weeks of taking this i was off all diabetes meds. 4 months now and I'm 43lbs down, I diet and exercise with it. My last A1C was 5.3 not even considered diabetic at that level. It does bother me hearing about the shortage because id hate to have to go back to insulin
That's amazing. A year ago I was diagnosed with type 2 after a visit to the ER and my AC-1 was 13.3. In the past 8 years I have suffered from Acute Pancreatitus many times due to elevated Triglycerides which I suspect has led to the Type 2 . I'm starting Ozempic this week but without insurance it's $1500 at the Winn Dixie Pharmacy in Florida. (If they could get it) Any suggestions ?
@@theblytonian3906t should be. Now I’m not diabetic, but if non-asthmatics were allowed to get the asthma meds off the shelf to use for other affects away from intended use, I’d be saying the same. I know this is not about asthma but it’s a similar situation with another potential deadly chronic illness.
I just received my prescription today and my dose is 0.25mg via Q week injection. I believe the drug is supposed to be handled in a titration manner, (starting off on the lower dose, and gradually increasing it, hence allowing the body to adjust to it, as to not have, for example, a dramatic drop in blood sugar, leading to issues),& hopefully it will do what I have read what it's supposed to do. Do have concerns (although I had no problems with receiving my 1st rx) with the medication shortage. I just don't understand why/how/who/what is causing it? Front albuterol to Adderall to semaglutide and other rx....have their rx plants shut down or issues with logistics? 🤔...
This is bs- they're not having supply chain issues, they're just trying to get the R&D money back for their investors. Forced scarcity is like one of the founding principles of economics.
No matter what you choose, diet, exercise or meds. Weight loss is not easy. I recently shared my story on my channel, on how I lost 22 pounds in 5 weeks, which could be really helpful to anyone struggling with weight loss.
With the shortage, people are getting 30 day supplies for the same price as 90 day supplies. Clear and obvious price gouging. I have no doubt that the company is complicit. They pushed for approval and claim they didn't have capacity for the expected demand. Give me a break.
Not at the risk of those who actually need stuff for diabetes an POCS. When one can just eat right an work out. It’s hard but that’s how one is going to keep on being healthy through life. If someone is morbidly obsee till the point they are about to die an can’t move then I can possibly see

It can be prescribed off label in Australia, any approved medication can (as a private script). Doctors have been asked not to commence treatment though while there are shortages and they have to justify the off label treatment if questioned.
Eat healthy and exercise.. there's no short cut for weight loss.. and big Pharma can't be trusted. Non-diabetic People are gonna get sick from Ozempic. Look at the long list of recalled medications. Let's see how the class action law suit plays put in a few years

And now this stuff is going out of stock because of how greedy and sick people are to use something they don't need. It's sad seeing society like this, but am not surprise at all
@@JasonMenayan I find your ignorance, disturbing. Diabetes is the more dire of the two, and obese patients do NOT need Ozempic to live; whereas diabetics do! Your lack of understanding and a lack of conscious is a major contributor to the shortage, as to why diabetics like me, need Ozempic so we can live to see another day! Selfish pigs like yourself, can find another way, to lose weight, instead of stealing from those, who need Ozempic the most!!😠
@@JasonMenayan There are also better, more permanent options for non diabetic obese people. As a nurse I can tell you many type 2 diabetic patients are prescribed Ozempic because they are so "brittle " symptom wise that those other options you speak of don't work for them to stabilize them the way Ozempic does. Which from my research is the reason it was created in the first place to treat actual diabetes. Weight loss was a bonus side effect, literally a side effect.
This is the future for weight loss. It's going to be revolutionary because a ton of overweight people are going to live longer and be able to work more productively.
@@ewokgoldenrod1277 It cures hunger pains which is one factor of laziness that leads to excess calorie intake. At the end of the day, weight loss is not rocket science. It's simply a case of eating less calories than you burn.
@@serverlan763I wish I didn’t have an appetite. I remember when I had Covid I never got hungry. It was super weird. I ate only twice a day just to make sure I had enough nutrients for the day. That was when I lost my taste and smell for a week too.
Ozempic is dangerous! I'm laying here in bed because I took Ozempic (Semaglutide) for 3 months and almost died. This drug caused me constant bloating which made me feel full, but sick when I did force myself to eat. By the 3rd month the damage was done. My liver developed advanced cirrhosis which led to bleeding in my stomach and upper GI tract. I lost so much blood that my hemoglobin went down to 9 and I needed 2 units of blood at the ER. I had then scheduled a upper GI Endoscopy for 3 weeks later. But on the second week just before my appointment my hemoglobin went down to 5.1 and I became delirious and unconscious. My friends hadn't heard from me and broke into my house and quickly called me an ambulance. I was rushed to a nearby ER for 2 pints of blood they quickly squeezed into me to stabilize me and then taken by helicopter to a major hospital where they had to quickly squeeze 2 more pints of blood into me. They found fluids in my chest (dead blood cells) that has been drained out and performed the Upper GI Endoscopy where they had to band the bleeders. I had received 1 more unit of blood (for a total of 7 units in 2 weeks) just to bring me back up to a hemoglobin of 9. I was discharged a week later. I have no memory of the first two days after becoming unconscious. Then 6 weeks later my hemoglobin was down to 6.1 and again I was hospitalized for 6 days after another life flight from my local hospital. Once again the GI Doctor had to place 5 bands around bleeders. My organs are damaged now and I have been seeing doctors 2 or more times a week. I may need a liver transplant now from biliary cirrhosis. I did have a prior fatty liver, but I hadn't had a drink in over 8 years. There is a October 2022 published report from Indiana University School of Medicine of someone else my age (male 50's) that required a liver and kidney transplant after using Semaglutide for 6 months. The report found no other explanation for his diagnosis. There are also other lawsuits over the harm from this drug. My hemoglobin counts are slowly improving, but I am unable to leave my bed for more than a few minutes due to all the complications it has caused my body. Using this product is not worth the health risk. If you're diabetic, I recommend Victoza. I used Victoza for years without side effects and it will also help with slow weight loss. I wish I had stayed with it instead of listening to the Wegovy and Ozempic commercials for quicker weight loss.
You said that you drank in the past. Depending on how much you drank back then, maybe there was some damage already there, and the Ozempic made all of that come at full force.
❤thanks for this. not all weight loss programs are created equal and we really should be careful with weight loss when there could be harmful results to our bodies. ❤
Taking Ozempic off label for weight loss can also pose a risk to the people taking it. NOTHING with a potential side effect of suicidal ideation (which Ozempic has) should EVER be taken lightly.
I don't understand why people are such a hurry to inject themselves with potentially dangerous substances for a quick fix solution. Here's a safer solution that requires some self control and some motivation: Stop stuffing your face with junk, get off the coach, and partake in meaningful exercise. Simple!
I have type 2 diabetes and had been on Truelicity for over a year to manage it. Six weeks ago, I asked my doctor if he would switch me to Ozempic to try and lose a little weight. After 4 weeks on the Ozempic, I was DONE with it. I was sick all the time, diarrhea constantly, it even changed the color of my stool to a grayish/black color, vomiting. I just couldn't tolerate it anymore. I decided losing a few pounds just wasn't worth it. This, for me anyway, was a demon drug. Never again.
Took a few months for me to get used to it as well, 2 or 3 if I had to guess. Almost quit but my doctor encouraged me to keep going. Now I have no issues and I'm down from 144kg to 106. 4 kg more and I go from obese class 1 to "just" being overweight. Also my HbA1c levels are on a normal range.
The amount of weight and the time frame that people are losing it, is the typical amount of time and weight amount if they were consistent with diet and exercise…. People just need to stop being lazy and want a fast fix. Just like gastric bypass, not a permanent fix or solution.
My Dr. Showed this to me as an option, because I'm pre diabetic and have PCOS. Yet, I'm still struggling to see if I want to go through with it or not. With PCOS it's harder to lose weight, which is what I really want. Yet, it makes me wonder if it's truly worth the potential side effects.
Semaglutides side effects are very very rare other than nausea + potentially vomiting. If there is a predisposition for a certain tyoe of thyroid cancer than caution is advised otherwise this is one of the safest drugs for weight loss. I am inly speaking for Semaglutide not Ozempic as a brand.
Elmanil, I am in the same situation as you. Have the same diagnosis's and predicament. I've had the Ozempic in my refrigerator for the last 4 months, but I am so afraid to try it due to the side effects. Losing weight is so hard for me because of my insulin resistance and PCOS. It's either I try the medication, or have to go extreme keto. Have you tried it yet?

@Perry potato that's true but I have used it for a year and it works for blood sugar control .Why start all over looking for a drug that helps when I found one,
@Perry potato Everyone reacts to medications differently. I can't take the other medications within the same class as Ozempic because they make me VERY sick. So no I don't have other options. Out of similar options, Ozempic typically has the best results in maintaining blood sugars and protecting kidneys while also helping to prevent future heart problems.
@@perrypotato6034 There aren't other options for stabilizing what could be deadly symptoms in a lot of "brittle" type 2 diabetics. Which is who the doctor prescribes these type of drugs for. As a nurse I can tell you all options don't work for everyone. If you get this prescribed it's usually the best choice based on the doctors experience to control symptoms and possibly save that diabetics life. There is also an adjustment period being on Ozempic, shouldn't be stopped cold turkey so continuity is needed. Pharmacies should truly be prioritizing these patients already established on the drug beyond 6 weeks.
