Just fought a Potemkin (we're both floor 8) that was relying on Megafist a little too heavily. I managed to parry it just once, but that parry totally made him rethink his gameplan. Dude started doing reverse Megafist anytime I got into Slash range lol. It's wild that Parry can even make Pot want to play keep-away.

Nah, her parry isn't op. But the video title is definitely accurate, it's much better than people give it credit for. I think the applications you showed at the beginning of the video are good examples of how people should be applying it. It's definitely a great psychological tool as well. What rubs some folks the wrong way about it might be how a lot of Baiken's pressure feels like it is built around rps that relies on Parry. Such as the opponent not respecting her after S Kabari, H Kabari and the follow up, as well as ground tatami. Parry will help condition them to stop challenging there. But what makes this really tricky is the opponent is also aware of this. So when they pick random points to challenge her pressure, it becomes difficult predicting when the best time to parry on offense is. It can be especially frustrating if you are purposefully saving parry for a moment where they are consistently challenging after one particular move, and then you try to parry at that point and for whatever reason they go back to respecting you at the worst possible moment. The counter hit that happens after that cuts deep. It might just be one of those situations where people need to not rely too heavily on it during offense and save it for specific defensive situations. Going for it one time early on in her pressure though, even if it whiffs, can be a great way to immediately condition the opponent. If they see it once then they should start leaving a bunch of obvious gaps in their pressure and respecting her more in general.

I really appreciate that you show us what you just demonstrated in theory in actual games. I started using that method to lab (testing just the new stuff I want to learn and then focusing on applying it in real games instead of trying to win) and saw huge improvements in a short time. The parry by itself is one thing. The parry combined with a 4f jab is a nightmare. Not a single celestial Baiken blocks against I-No, ever. The trick to beating it is Note Oki, little dash-up, Slash Stroke. You will do this 15 times in a set and they will STILL mash parry and jab. I hate fighting Baiken.

Parrying is easy... As long as my opponent stops rewinding time using 9frames of roll back that is ;-;

i pick up baiken recently i tend to stay away for parry unless im abosolutely sure i can do it lol

I think far parry should accomplish absolutely anything but otherwise I agree. Also can you please influence some Ram and Nago players to do the No Block Challenge

Parry is not OP at all. DP characters have almost all the same functions while actually having plus frames while baiken does not.
