Updated the video to be more accurate (Thanks anons). This video will show you what Baiken can and can't parry. Good luck not getting wake up grabbed trying to parry dummy.

Oh my bad who would win? - blood-empowered sword made from metal that can even harm immortal gears, wielded by an ageless vampire samurai with perfect technique letting his undead bloodlust take over to increase his power - 4 fingers
This would also imply that by in-game(Game Theory) logic, Nago's speed is FTL or FTL+ because before his sword hits his opponent visually, he has already swung his blade. But that's just a theory, A GAME THEORY.
Respectfully, what does this mean? Parrys are in a lot of fighting games and guns are rare but definitely a lot more common now a days. Truly disregarding the rules of fighting games is bringing scissors to your next set and giving the opponent's stick a haircut. "Oh no they're playing pad!!" Everything has counterplay
@@nicoco678well, I dont know what he means about the Baiken part, but HC very much does break the rules. The gun is entirely separate from the rest of his kit, meaning he can do a lot of really stupid shit, but this mainly means, especially with how his gun works, he can whiff punish you… when hes the one who whiffed, among a lot of other stupid things that can be done due to how his gun works. The gun isnt the part breaking the rules, its how the gun itself works.
@@scipto8628 i dont play MK but from My understanding his shooting isnt frame removed from the rest of his kit, HC can do his shove away move, whiff it, then during its recovery frames he can shoot his gun. Thats my problem with HC
Parrying Nago bloodrage super keeps him in bloodrage?! You know what this means? Better buff Nago some more. Bloodrage is, once again, too much of a handicap 😔
Usually I input it right after the cinematic camera ends, should work if no other action is taken by Baiken at the moment. Careful because the window is a little tight, but you can spam the input and still get away with it
Can she parry the follow-up to Anji's parry super. Like if he parries a tatami mat while you're still in neutral? I've tried it a few times but my timing might have been off
I tested it out right now with her H. Kabari at long range, and it does work. However, it looks like if Anji activates the full super(close range version where he hits more times) you can't stop him. I might be wrong but it looks like you can only parry the long range version where he hits twice, but no one activates that super at long range really.
@@chrism.5961 No one activates that super at long range but projectiles can trigger the two hit at point-blank from my experience. Idk if air tatami is a thing in strive bc I don't have the Baiken dlc but if it is you could probably catch anji into long range parry with it, or _possibly_ grounded tatami at point-blank.
If you’re curious as to how to beat this, the parry is a frame 1-7 catch. This means that if you delay something past that window, it will hit. Also using projectiles where you can helps
can't exactly delay a super after activation, and since a lot of them come out after a cutscene the timing is always going to be the same so Baiken can always parry it if the player is good enough. Of course, the counterplay to this is ,y'know, not throwing out supers in neutral.
@@glasslicker2829 the gap between Kick to Heavy gatlings Is usually sufficient, or any punch/kick into special cancels. Basically, if a punch button would punish the gap, it’s big enough to beat parry.
There's been a few changes with season 2 like Giganter Kai persisting as a projectile even after close range hit. Are you planning on doing a follow-up video to see if any of the parries have changed?
I believe Chipp moves way too fast to actually be able to pull of the parry after the first hit, and the fact that he climbs the screen makes it basically impossible after the second hit. When Axl does his timestop, it's basically a screenwide attack that does no damage, so Baiken will basically just drop the parry altogether and be free to hit
wow. as a person who's new to gg this is so insane and I hate it but I love it also. im guessing she can parry Bridget's super? (the big teddy bear one)
I'll have to get back to you on that one, but I believe the first yoyo attacks from that super are fully parryable , but Roger's (the teddy bear) slam follow up is probably an unparryable projectile. What I need to see is how fast Roger's slam comes out, because it might be able to punish Baiken even if she parry's if it's delayed enough.
I just tested it, and parrying Bridget in that super will have Roger's slam come out in the middle of the animation, making Baiken invincible to the slam followup. And since Roger is a separate projectile, he can't be parried
He stays in bloodrage because he has to finish the overdrive animation to leave the bloodrage state. Parrying it in any form prevents that from happening.
I did some testing, and it looks like Testament's overdrives are unparryable. I would've expected Calamity One to be parryable like mortobato, but she can't stop either of Testament's supers
okay but if she's neutral and they raw/wakeup super wouldn't it just be better to block and punish with a full combo in pretty much all these scenarios?
@@NekoStix Absolutely Correct. The psychic damage parrying the super imparts is _Crucial._ In online anything that can tilt the opponent into making a mistake is a powerful tool in the mind game
Also note that they can burst out of your combo, or roman cancel their super to make it safe. Parry beats both and does good damage in one chunk. Good round closer.
All of this, plus if you have meter you can rrc when you slam them and go for a BNB if you need the extra damage. Probably not optimal, but it's gotten me enough damage to end a round right there.
Really late response but yeah, she can parry the dolphin. The timing's differ between S and H versions and I don't think it's worth risking the crumple hit, but if you can read the dolphin you can stop it
