Nah, I would say the majority go for the music, they just are not instagramming it!!! But, so many people are holding their phones up recording & it confuses the hell out of me... I went 7 years in a row. 2004 - 2010. It was way better. The music was Bomb and the whole Instagram thing was non-existent. In fact it was pretty faux pas to be in your phones during shows. We were there for the music and to have fun with our friends. Now it’s just a whole “Look at me at Coachella” vibe. Uber wasn’t a thing either and getting in and out was easy. That looks like a major shit show.

For a 1000$ you could pay for a 3 nighstay at Tomorrowland in Belgium the 1000$ includes the plane experience ( they have their own planes) the food(whatever your stomach desire) alcohol (drugs) and the hotel/tant that you’ll be staying at Not to mention the aesthetic you are talking about is nothing compared to Tomorrowland People come all around the world to party in Tomorrowland at there’s a lot of activities during the day for the people in it and a lot of musicians and different genres playing in different area of tomorrowland Not to mention the weather is just perfect bc it’s in the summer but it’s in europe so it’s not too hot or cold

coachella is just super mainstream with a lot of top 40 artists and currently famous youtubers so the masses find it more appealing. LOVE Tomorrowland though, it's a once in a lifetime experience. Although I'm from North America and we did need to pay for our flight into Europe to the city that the Tomorrowland plane was taking off from. So it isn't that much cheaper for some people

Technically many influencers are paid to go and have obligations for work. It can be a great way to earn followers and make content while also having fun. Going to Coachella is very brand equitable because of how much media attention it gets. It’s also a place to network with other youtubers. This Coachella video has garner her 1.4 million views which is a good payout if it is monetized.

What does being European have to do with not liking Coachella? Coachella is just a stupid festival out in the middle of nowhere, with loud music, half-naked people, and full of drugs. The only reason Coachella is popular or seen as this huge thing is because of celebrities and popular influencers post about it on social media. Celebrities have always gone to Coachella and it’s well-known in the US. I remember wanting to go in 2004 or 2005 but I was too young lol. It just used to be more focused on indie bands not huge mainstream artists. And people didn’t spend 5 hours getting read to take pics and watch 1 hour of music 😂

That's actually what I thought, too. Like you have to walk long distances and pay a shitload of money for both the tickets and the food/drinks at every festival. I mean that's just what a festival is like, but you're there for the music and the people so if you don't want to pay money or walk then maybe a festival isn't for you🤷🏽‍♀️

I agree, I had to deal with all this same stuff at Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza. Hot weather, overpriced drinks, walking along distances. having a hard time finding an Uber, no cell service, I’ve dealt with at a lot of festivals.

I must be really old, but we used to go music festivals for the music. So you do there things that you could do everywhere, you can go to a beach with friends, go to some random small festival... besides stalking celebrities, nothing really seems special... too much money for selfies and being "trendy"

I know people don't like some like Ariana or Billie Eilish, but millions still enjoy their songs (including me) and they bring joy to the lives of many. This is why you camp!! It may not be as glamorous or comfortable but it 100% adds to the experience and I LOVE it. 1) My camp site has always been a 2 minute walk to the venue so I can easily go back and change at night. We are also easily able to go back and have more free drinks that we bring in. The alcohol is definitely over priced. 2) We don’t have to wait in any Uber lines and can avoid the 2 mile walk 3) Coachella is definitely over priced but worth it to me, such a fun experience. 4) I LOVE CHVRCHES

Felicia no dumb questions!! I was clueless just a few years ago too 😂 They do have showers, but unless you time it right you will be waiting forever. Either go super early in the morning or mid afternoon. Me and my group have a shower that sets up kinda like a tent that is super useful, worth the money. You can keep reusing it over and over. They do have sinks but baby/toilet wipes and face wipes will be your BFFS. Baby wipes will save your life.

JustBecause yes definitely! I am more into the techno house scene tbf but the artists who were at coachella that I would listen to like fisher dusky etc were at the festival. Although coachella isn’t much of a techno scene, the artists at hideout where the biggest names in house music and artists played more than once so if two of your favourite artists clashed you still had the chance to see them both! It was a fantastic festival and was located on the beach, what more could you want?

Honestly, I absolutely love Coachella for the vibes and music. I’ve gone 2018 and 2019 and loved it. I think out of both trips, I got maybe 3 pictures, never posted one. Coachella is really just what you make it. Also, I did car camping and it’s so much fun. Don’t have to deal with ubers, get to meet people after hours. Really suggest car camping
