I like using the Socratic method too, if you're not careful of the cadence of your voice then sometimes people can take offense

ha! well as you know from when I tried to sing or rap way back in the day. I have a monotone voice. I'm often sarcastic yet no one can tell. Dry observations from me are often just disregarded until I ask how I could be wrong. then it turns out they were not actually listening to me. I have a friend who is a speech therapist. I started doing "sing song" talking. It felt like I was talking to people like they were 5 years old.

I use to do the same thing with people and they would lose their shit! Example I can read them like a book & destroy them with words. They would try the same thing with me but I would hit the wall & build something with the bricks. I would say "That's not going to work" & I would tell them why but they would just not listen. Then they get mad when I'm right & then blame me for messing them up. Some times I'll hit a wall because I'm to lazy to avoid it

yes, they act like you take short cuts but in reality you actually take the long way around to figure things out. HUGE amount of time, effort and education to figure something out fast. yet NO you CANT know that!!!

Yeah there's lots of possible reasons why, and the ones you gave are often it. It's their own fault they're pissed off. "If I can't figure it out, then no one (or at least no one I know) can" is just begging for it, and I make sure to rub their noses in that arrogance whenever I see it. If you think you're smarter than everyone you encounter, then you're probably stupider than at least half of them. Intuition isn't deduction. Intuition isn't logical. It leaps over all the plodding of logic. You come up with an answer, but without much of an explanation for it (probably another reason why it pisses people off). You can use deduction (or induction or math or whichever's appropriate) afterwards to fill in the gaps. That'll calm some people down. It also helps make sure you lept to the right conclusion.

for me its like I take my life's experiences. combine in with what I have read, or seen, or heard about. then I Make and educated guess. as I get older I am more and more able to figure out things that I did not witness.

@@bikemessenger7 Sounds like induction to me.

@@thethegreenmachine sure, though I guess that my guesses should be kept to myself unless im asked to "solve" something.
