Well raven gets to play like a crackhead and gets to play dry neutral so the image of funny edgelord man gets maintained as most players like to play aggro

Same it's kinda annoying sharing I'm a Raven main (also Faust main) and I get flammed for it.

It's funny when anyone says go back to Xrd but that shit got no rollback and it's a discord game. 🤣 It's kinda a wack answer to share in that regard imo.

I'm also a Fellow Raven Main and I can say for sure if he can to strive he would be reworked. I honestly like Raven and combo into many things. He can allow you to freeform and be unique in many situations. Taking that away would hurt his fun factor. But let's say he was in stirive the reason he didn't get new moves in Rev 2 was because of how he was designed in Xrd. Hell they even changed his visual design so add to his gameplay. If they took some of it away or locked it behind his Horny bar (let's be honest that's what it is XD) it could be interesting but also odd Because what Made Raven a Snow ball character is BECAUSE of the meter. His Oki game was Nerfed from Base Xrd to rev 2 and it's lock down was also gutted but it's much more worth it if he is at high levels. More combo opportunities from his command grabs and everything or more hitstun on some moves. I don't like how Strive fucks characters over sometimes when they are brought back. But Raven is simple his Air dash should be the same if that's Gone he is not the same tbh. Maybe mix some of his Old moves he had in Guilty Gear 2. That would be interesting. But overall keep him familiar. He has always been focused on the Horny bar so if they wanted to lean more into it...again it would be more interesting.

Strive already has a plethora of resource management we need anything but that or else the game is over saturated with complexity dependant on resources - Zato with Eddie Gauge and HC with bullets and focus albeit zato always had eddie gauge. We need different types of management and complexity within a characters kit that is a uniquely fresh take. I personally am against characters being stripped of tools but the character strength is already high in strive not as much as previous games but within new fg standards its really up there. How's about we just say fuck it give characters all their tools and rebalance from there. Testing the waters while making the game even more enjoyable or even add new mechanics without all together removing the old iconic moves? KY greed sever and grinders baiken parrys millia hair pin most notably although greed sever was replaced with foudre arc but still.

@@shaqhashi6114 But Raven is a resource management character in Xrd, he has excitement, a character unique resource. But you also don't want characters to lose tools in reimplementation either, which he'd have to lose those tools if no more resource management. That's a real roundabout way of saying you just don't want them to bring the character back. Which is especially funny cause remove the aspects of him directly revolving around resource managing excitement, and you're literally left with the bits of Raven people who hate him hate most. Which you would know if you watched this video.

A character doesn't need to be objectively strong in the meta to be annoying as fuck to fight. There's a long history of absolutely loathed mid-tiers.

@@azazeal905 Yes but Raven is also kinda over memed. I think LK kinda oversold needle YRC because like, it costs a lot more than 25% meter when you take into account tension pulse and meter cool down etc etc, and if you you spend your first 25 meter on it you could find yourself not getting another one until like 15 seconds later. His mobility is also a blessing and a curse bc his airdash forward is super committal and terrible for escaping the corner/punishing fireballs (which is why he has that invincible dash, because he needs a way to beat fireballs predictively). He’s not a particularly annoying character in the whole scheme of Xrd unless you don’t like getting poked in neutral I guess, but even then more characters do it better than him. He’s pretty average in strength and annoyance level

She's top 10 at worst, has excellent neutral, extremely powerful mixups, consistent oki, solid pressure, and very high, consistent damage, along with Azami, a tool that means you have to create entirely new offensive plans just for her (as most characters). Idk why you think I'm saying Raven ain't that bad cuz I play him or something, when I play Sin. Even if Baiken was worse than Raven (which she definitely isn't), having to create an entirely different gameplan for a single matchups is a lot more annoying than "This guy has good buttons and mix" every time

@@HellecticMojo Next you’re gonna tell me Xrd was plagued by plus frames too because they have 2Ps and 2Ks that are not minus on block too. Getting rewarded for your offense is a lot more fun than a dev putting a big “STOP” button that you’re forced to interact with

Offense is the reward, and has no reason to be rewarded beyond the ability to win. Making defense not a disastrous mess is better for majority. If I had to choose between fun and not being miserable, I would take not being miserable 10/10 times because loss/pain aversion is basic level human psychology.

No, you can't. IB into air throw is a common anti air tactic against some buttons/air to air interactions because air IB reduces blockstun by a fuckton and air throw is literally instant, so if you IB a button trying to be a jump in, or in this case a whiffed air throw, you basically get a guaranteed air throw punish
