He surrounded himself with his Yorubas "brothers'( absolutely nothing wrong with that).When this fellow came down with cancer his Yoruba "brothers" kept telling us " make una go take care of una brother o!!. If Anioma state is realised, and I don't see why not, it doesn't have to be lumped with the south east, just as Kwara state and Kogi state (Yoruba speaking) aren't lumped with the southwest!! This interesting geography points to a uniqueness in Nigeria that many Nigerians don't appreciate enough!! Despite the gidi gidi we make about "tribes" and Ndigbo are mostly particular in this regard, there is a certain Six Degrees of Separation amongst many of our different ethnic groups in Nigeria! As a matter of fact, we are more interwoven and multilayered culturally and historically than we think we are!! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!

The South East is the only region that has five states, the other regions have multiple states more than the East, it will be an injustice to Ndigbo if Anioma State is not added to the South East Region to balance and equalize the region like other regions in Nigeria and end the Political and Economic Marginalization of Ndigbo

@@onyedikachukwumiracle I am sorry to say but this is an emotive answer. In fact the whole argument or debate is based on frivolous sentiments! The so called Anioma area was never a part of the south east, even though a lot of the ethnic groups are of the Igboid subgroup! Anioma is at this time a part of Delta State, which used to be Bendel state and which used to be called the Midwest region! The Midwest region was carved out of the former Western State! But leaving that aside, an argument could also be made for what have the South east done specifically or spectacularly with the 5 south east states?? I have not seen or heard of ANY collaborations between the governments of any of the 5 south east states . Each state is ruled as a completely different entity from other Igbo speaking states! As a matter of fact, despite the regional hegemony, there are still deep differences and conflicts and tensions between intra ethnic groups across the south east! So what happens if Niger state is divided up into two? What happens if Kaduna state is divided into two? Both states have more ample reasons to be divided up, Niger state is just geographically too big to remain one state and Kaduna state is too diverse ethnically, culturally and religiously to also remain a state! This might still give the north more states than the south! So where would that leave Ndigbo? Would they too still want more states carved out to match the other areas? The Anioma people are still very distinct in some of their cultures , traditions and languages from the south east Igbos . All i can say to the Anioma people, be careful what you wish for!! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!

Did you listen to him well? It doesn't matter whether anioma is part of South East or south south. He is indirectly telling you that it will not be a South East state perse. That is further worsening the igbo heritage. You will be the least in Nigeria with 5 states. It's better we continue with the discussion of orlu state while they also continue with their anioma state matter.

That's not correct. Ned is pushing for the creation of Anioma and to be included in South East zone. He also emphasize that it will add to the territory of the South East as opposed to Orlu state that will not add any territory but only fragments the South East.​@@thespectacular9826

ANIOMA STATE is a goal 👍. If 7th is required, let Orashi State be created. The rest of Igbo communities in other states should join original states via referendum. We add no more splitting.

Ned was smarter ,they do no need to be classified as Southeast or south south at this time because to start with wherever they are ,they are still part of us ,if things are being shared in south south, they will still get their share and come home with it, wherever they are, they are still Igbos and have not denied their Igboness.

The name anioma already says it all. Delta is a neutral name

To be part of South East or South South region is a constitutional matter. The agitation/request is to have a sixth state for the South East, if Anioma projects their interest based on the need for a sixth state for the South East, then the constitutional amendment will include classifying and adding them to the South East region by amending the relevant provisions of the Constitution. If the state creation is for the South East to have a sixth state like most other regions and they refuse to be part of the region, the project would necessarily fail. When we get to the bridge we shall cross it.​@@chineduonuorah
