Greetings from Arizona 9B. We have all kinds of trees within just a couple of feet apart and they are all doing just fine! Thanks for more tips and tricks 😎

Hey a GardenerScott cameo comment nice! Wish I had found your content (and this channel’s!) when I was still in Colorado. Lots of good learning on both your content for our bipolar west Texas climate though (high elevation issues like sun intensity, cold winters but brutal summers too, drought, etc).

I have a pair Pluerry from Dave Wilson that I picked up off Etsy 2 yrs ago. The trees are doing great and I just started getting fruit this season. Wish I had seen this planting method when I got them, great information.

Thanks for sharing 👍 I planted a GEM and Carmen Hass in the same mound 20" apart. I also planted a Flavor Delight Aprium and an Emerald Drop Pluot in the same hole they are not eachothers pollinator but they're next to my Santa Rosa Plum and Blenheim Apricot multi-graft tree so that should do it.

Glad to hear that you’re successfully applying this planting method. So long as your apricot, plum, Pluot & Apriums are blooming at the same time & within about 60 feet of one another, they can all help cross-pollination for added fruit set & quality. Thanks again for sharing your gardening story with us! Charles 🌱👍

Great idea. I watched your channel since last years and learned a few lesson on caring fruit tree. I bought a few bare rooted peach trees and plum tree. All my plum tree are in a 20 gallon pot and doing well. The two peach/nectarine tree are doing even better during the first 3 months of spring but last 3 weeks, I do notice the tips of all the branch are droopy and looks like dying. The rest of the leaves are doing fine. I know they get plenty of water, especially I turn on the sprinkle system to water my lawn. Could it be possible too much water can cause the tip of my in ground young fruit tree to have droopy/dying leaves.

The best cherry orchard that I have ever seen was where the trees were just a few feet apart in the rows but the rows were maybe 6 feet apart or more to allow access to the trees. I`ve had an orchard of 60 trees for 10 years or more. So much to learn. I didn`t expect much from pears and peaches in North Indiana. They are the easiest and most productive. You can`t believe everything that you see and read about this stuff. Just gotta get yer hands dirty. plus different varieties and different climates give different results. A bad year means you have to wait a whole year again ..you may grow old in the process...lol.

Thanks for the video. I just purchased my 2nd can of iv organics. Been using it in the garden. I do have a question. Do you recommend anything to keep critters from digging up tree roots each time I fertilize? They smell the fish and bone meal and dig. I'm in the country area so constantly dealing with this issue. Thanks for another great informative video.

Is it a good idea to plant different kinds of trees in the same hole?
@IVOrganic
@IVOrganic Год назад
GREAT QUESTION SR! I meant to address this issue- This planting method should only be done between related fruit trees. For example citrus (orange, lemon, lime), avocado (Hass, Fuerte, Bacon), stone fruit (peach, plum, apricot)- as related fruit trees will be more comparable sharing the hole & improve cross-pollination between one another. Let me know if you’ve got any other questions? Charles 🌱👍

Very nicely explained. If my plum tree only has two fruits, what that means? I planned it two years before. It had a lot of flowers but in my backyard I only planted one plum tree.

What about planting shrubs in this manner like saskatoons, or sour cherries? I was told 6 feet apart for planting, but that takes up a lot of yard , I’d love to be able to fit more edible plants into my yard if I can and save space, thanks !
@IVOrganic
@IVOrganic Год назад
ABSOLUTELY! Just keep in mind that the 2-3 or more trees you put into a planting hole will be equivalent to about only 1 (maybe slightly more) than planting a single tree. However, there are also benefits to this method as explained in this lesson. Keep us posted on your growing successes! Charles 🌱👍

Charles, how do you deal with insect boring holes into the fruit?
@baddriversofcolga
@baddriversofcolga Год назад
Bagging is the easiest and most effective organic method. You want to do it right as the fruit starts forming shortly after the flower petals fall off.

Do you think this would work with mango trees?
@IVOrganic
@IVOrganic Год назад
ABSOLUTELY YES! 🥭👍 Just figure the two (or three) mango trees will grow to give you the yields of about only one tree- maybe slightly more. Best of all, if one tree alternately bares fruit, you still have a chance of fruit from the other variety(ies). Keep us posted on your mango growing successes! Charles 🌱👍

Once mixed, what is the shelf life of the IV Organic Paint?
@adam_1144
@adam_1144 Год назад
Probably a very long time. It's composed of powder and various oils. As long as you rehydrate it, it should be fine to use years from now.

@@adam_1144 I only have a patio, have a few grafted fruit trees. I can already see my cherry tree, all the fruits have dried up and died. I would like to do the painting of these trees, cos in summer south facing, it gets very hot. I already see a few branches drying out. I am planting vegetables in the same pot, companion planting. My cues with my nectarine tree, choi sum veggies with my cherry tree, also with my olive trees. I have tomatoes growing with my bay tree. My fig tree, got strawberries underneath it (bad choice, the leaves are blocking sunshine) will repot in autumn, they’re all flowering, fruiting. So my question would it be poisonous from my 2 cats, whom can find a spot amongst all the veggies, plus is it poisonous for my vegetables…already ready to be eaten. I am not too worried about my olive tree, it’s the cherry tree that’s completely exposed to the full sun. Bay tree is tough, so I don’t worry about it too. So in South West Wales, patio facing south sun. Would appreciate any advice. M planning to repot every tree in autumn, into smaller pots, atm its 50cm barrels shaped mostly into 30cm, m running out of space. I do deep watering now.

@@H_A_L_7 Hello Adam 👋 Product is pet safe- however, keep your pets away until the product has dried into your plants your protecting. Note, IV Organic 3-in-1 Plant Guard & WhiteWash formulas help curb weather extremes on your fruit trees… but can also be used to protect your vegetables, ornamentals, and so much more! Make sure you whitewash your cherry tree & fertilize it organically 3x each year: spring, summer & early fall. Hope your having an enjoyable 2023 growing season! Charles 🌱👍

@@adam_1144 I’ve reused a mixed solution stored in my garage over many years by adding more water between uses. However, the best application is to mix only ad much as you intend to use that day- and to keep the unused powder & oil stored in a cool & dry place where the product can last up to 5 years. Unused mixed solution that is not used within 2 weeks should be frozen to preserve the binding milk proteins. Let me know if you have any other gardening or product questions!? Happy Gardening, Charles 🌱👍

Thank you for sharing! Couple of questions: Can this paint be put on Raised Planters (Pine) to extend the life of the Planters if so, can it used on existing and or New raised beds Can you recommend a good orchard were I can buy ORGANIC Lime and Lemon trees to grow in planters (I live in zone 6b). Most nurseries or big box stores have these but on the label these plants have been sprayed with insecticide & fungicides in order to be sold. (According to labels information)

@@adam_1144 Of course- keeping the trees balanced with pruning is necessary to prevent a more vigorous variety from shading (and likely killing) a less aggressive growing trees. Pruning a few times throughout the year can help restore balance with multiple trees planted in the same hole (or even in close proximity to one another).
