Touch is a big thing for me as well, except in the reverse. I am really touchy with my partner and get triggered when that gets taken away. Touch is my primary love language and helps to reassure me that I am safe when I’m feeling overwhelmed

All of my girlfriends would wind up saying similar things like "what's wrong with you?"..."are you depressed?"..." you are emotionally distant"... And "I didn't think you cared" Our relationships with just end for no apparent reason.

Talking can help you realize that it wasn't your fault.

I was diagnosed with PTSD at 15 almost killed by 2 teenage girls. I have noticed now my 3 yr relationship I'm having struggles with trust. I go in self protection mode and push anyone away when I trigger. I'm now realizing to feel those feelings and know I am safe. It's a struggle when it happens but my SO knows now to not react as I work through these events. I wish everyone here best wishes and blessed days🙏🏻

Lost two friends one in a car accident and other on a motorcycle accident and the car one I was first on scene and he was good friend, second one was exactly 28 days later my best friend got killed when he lost control and got hit by a car on his motorcycle while we out on our bikes he died in front of me and feeling of guilt and helpless to do anything never left me..since that 16 years ago,I've lost so much to it,I've become hyper aware of dangers, drank way too much, lack of sleep, flash anger for no reason even things I say when angry make no sense, lost very good caring girlfriends, can't keep a steady job..PTSD is a bitch but I'm finally realizing I need help and that I need to man the fuck up and talk about it.

That's so hard! Fuck yeah man, talk that shit out, that's so intense and very much makes sense that you'd have all these built up feelings and stress, anxiety, dependency on alcohol etc. Counselling and help like that can be your safe space to express and work through these things thatre so hard. Might need to try different counsellors but you'll get there. Good luck, I believe in you.

Finally someone to explain what is happening … I started to hate my husband because I thought he hated me. Turns out his experience in Vietnam is why our marriage sucks (I’m sueing the US Army first thing Monday morning) My self esteem has been ripped to shreds because he never trusted me or wanted physical touch either

Thank you for talking openly about this! A big one for me is media intake. I'm lucky to have amazing friends and family who will find movies and books we can enjoy together without triggers. I know if someone tells me "oh just suck it up... Exposure therapy" or something similar we aren't meant to be friends.

Thank you both for sharing this. So I don't understand healthy place? are you a therapist then? What's your connection healthy place?.. I've never even heard of this until today. I have PTSD but I am affectionate, it's just part of my personality. But do I do have trust issues unfortunately.
