Main reason of overcrowding in sleeper is people travelling without ticket,unconfirmed waiting ticket and general class ticket holder illegally travelling in sleeper class.

I also experienced the same problem while traveling by Hirakhand express a few days back. The sleeper coaches seemed to be equivalent to general or un-reserved class.

Sleeper coach has reduced from 10_11 to 5_6. If the remaining sleeper coaches are left, they should be removed and AC coaches should be installed. In its place, sleeper trains should be run separately. Railways should run ac and sleeper trains in equal quantity. Because all classes of people live in the country. And all have the right to travel smoothly and comfortably in railways.

But it is wrong to reduce the number of sleeper coaches and give all facilities to the upper class. The government should definitely provide facilities to air-conditioned passengers. Separate air-conditioned trains should be run for them. But at the same time, trains with sleeper coaches and general coaches should be run separately. If a rich person's ticket is not confirmed, he has many options. He can travel by his personal vehicle or by plane. But a lower middle class person has no option other than trains. Because just as the upper class contributes to the economy and development of the country by paying income tax, similarly the lower class contributes significantly to the GDP by its labor and hard work. That is why they should also get good facilities. Congress may have been very bad. But Congress used to start trains for all classes.
Poorva Express is the prime example of such trains... It departs from Howrah around 6 am.... Enters Bihar around 11 am and there the problem starts there even in 3rd AC you feel like sleeper... Whole state of Bihar And UP condition of Poorva express is like that

Railways have to change peoples psychology look at Indonesia and china How they Replaced old non AC coaches with new ac coaches once upon a time Their per capita was also like us (Indonesia= 4.5k$) But they thought about future not about present that's why They upgraded. China also also upgraded their Coaches into Ac when they are Between 5k-6k $ per capita.

Indian railway is already heavily subsidized(53% on an average). What do you want it to wind down/scale down operation on the back mountain of losses? The solution given in this video is a good idea to separate AC trains from Non-AC trains. There should be complete AC trains and Non AC trains should be complied of Sleeper and general class. Government should fund these trains(non ac) even if they are making losses due to social obligations.

I think there is one more reason due climate conditions, railway will eliminate non AC couches in future, introduced AC chair car AC sleeper instead of General and sleeper, and reduce ticket prices for this service so General people can obtain this couches, But sadly railway still building non AC couches so by default we have to use those new non AC couches for another 3 decades which is terrifying railway should consider long term goal for it and introduced 2 new genral ac categories for low income people like i mentioned above.

With DFCs coming in, traffic pressure on regular lines will reduce. That will be the perfect time to introduce parallal trains - example Poorva AC and Poorva General/Sleeper. That will be the best solution as of now. With fencing job almost done, we can expect the full AC ones to go at 160, and sleeper ones at 130.
Why should we incentivize this? If you want good and fast service, you should pay accordingly. Otherwise, you can always use ramshackle buses if you just want to ' save money '.

Samething happened with me and our family in this April in Karnataka express. Sleeper was full of waiting list becoz of 6 Ac coaches and 7 sleeper coaches. All general public was in our coach S7
Correct subham bhai railway can run a clone trains in the routes where the demand is more just like one full ac sampoorn kranti express and one non ac sampoorn kranti express for whole year

Indian railway provides most affordable journey compare to other countries if u calculate in AC also its 1-2 rupees per KM much cheaper to other mode of transportation

Jyada AC coaches lagane ke piche sirf ek hi kaaran hai. Revenue badhana. Kyoki AC coaches me although AC aur blanket ke kaaran cost jyada hota hai, lekin fir bhi inke hogh charges ke kaaran railway ki jyada kamai hoti hai. Aur ab indian railway piblic ke comfort/affordability ko secondary rakhke apni profitability ko primary rakh rahi hai.. I believe short duration night trains should be of MEMU categories where they can accommodate everyone...... दिल्ली Saharanpur MEMU express like setup can be a trendsetter. For example -- in Delhi Howrah Sector, instead of so trains having equal no of sleeper coaches, one can expect dedicated sleeper coach trains and rest AC trains....... this can reduce a lot of congestion. In Delhi Chennai sector where they hv many trains, one can enroll AC express trains for thrice weekly basis and rest sleeper trains on daily basis so as to eliminate crowd and WL issues -- 💯 agree with what brother said
Issue of mismanagement at ac coaching happens in bihar route of entire india... For well known reasons. ..where fertility rate is still 3 means each women gives 3 kids.... So socialism approach is only for that section on india.. Rest of entirely hindustan is now development oriented
all coach should be AC and should provide 6-7 sleeper so that all general, waiting and other passenger could travel. AC would give better quality journey, less loss for railway and more seat for general passenger. we all know the condition of general and sleeper these days
Very well explained... but there could be another problem that people may board antyodaya express without any tickets as ticket checking in such trains may not be possible because of extreme crowds.... so most of the people will opt for such options and this could be a loss to Railways.
Yes... the problem of unreserved ppl taking all the spaces of sleeper is pathetic. They sleep on the passage, some men sleeping on the floor between sleepers....Really uncomfortable experience.

Antyodaya Express me seating ka byabastha tha. Sleeping long distance ke liye zaruri hote hai. Isliye Antyodaya long route pe aur nahi laye. Aapka full sleeper aur full Ac wala idea bilkul sahi hai....full AC me AC 3, AC 2 aur AC 1 hona hi hona chahiye.
For me Vande Bharat rakes should be replacement for Rajdhani, Sharabdi, Gatiman's current coaches only. Too many Vande Bharat trains will eventually clog the route, but not carry enough passengers. Instead we need normal trains with enhanced non AC capacity
This is a good initiative by the railways. All coaches should be AC and railway should try to reduce cost of tickets as if all coaches will be AC then it will give more revenue to railways so slightly reduction should be done in prices of tickets. And if still poor people can't afford it then it's not railways fault, railway isn't your dad's property, look for an alternative. All the illiterate fools who over crowd any trains should be arrested on the spot and fined a handsome amount of money. If u can't afford AC coach then it's your fault, travel in roadways buses. We won't ruin aur aesthetics to for some poor people.

Its a good initiative. 3AC Economy coaches production shall be increased. Solution might be bit complex but we need more RRTS corridors to divert the passengers travelling in short distance.

Bilkul sahi baat bataya aapne.mai esi April mai travel kiya sampoorn kranti Express mai Delhi to Patna 3AC Ka wahi haal tha Jo aapne bataya TTE praise lekar passenger ko paisa lekar allowed kar deta hai.
Personally I am retired from Private Company after 31 years sevice & get 1211/- rs. as pension per month . For me current rail fares & facilities are as good as a dream .
Railways should make all their trains fully AC coaches and reduce the waiting list drastically. Also it can run full Sleeper class and general class trains separately.
Almost 2000 seats reduced from Hyderabad to Mumbai - Sleeper coaches across all trains running on this route. Its a short route of 12-15 hours. Except for Duronto which is a bi-weekly train, no seats are available. For Duronto also, only some tickets are available at the last moment. How can somebody plan their travel. Even when the speeds are not increasing, how is reducing number of sleeper or general coaches going to help. Railways need to increase sleeper coaches so that people can travel. Flights are anyways super expensive....
I don't mind railway increasing ac coaches in trains, as long as they bring back, student, senior citizen, defense and other concessions & increase general coaches per train, to cater bottom of the pyramid.

Its not about affordability, the comfort levels has changed. Almost all developed countries have fully Air conditioned trains, India should also move towards that Just the fare should be affordable for people

Solution 1-Regular checking of TTEs with police to catch general ticket holders in sleeper coach in every 3 or 4 hours. 2-All trains should divert their route to exclude Bihar.I have seen the Biharis illegally occupy sleeper class seats. 3-We have to search answer why in UP,Bihar and Jharkhand the trains are over crowded even if most of the trains are running through these route . 😊😊

Economy AC coaches sleeper se bi jada log lete hai. Sleeper 82 log lete hai and Economy AC coaches 93 logo ko lete hai. And AC general ke baare mai bi sooch na padega
