The Men's World Junior Hockey Championships are here and Team Canada's players had some fun before the tournament, calling out their teammates for some of their funniest habits.
first thing i'm gonna say is it's not all, I repeat, it's not all, but a lot of hockey personalities, especially certain American areas or Western canadian is quite "rude" or "The culture that needs to go". Now i'm not talking about racism and unfortunately sexual assault that is inexcusable, but just vulgarity and aggression. It's an angry sport, a lot of these guys cannot act how they are in the locker room or on the ice while in public, they'll get criticized to hell and back, or be fined, or both. The disrespect can be 'hurtful" or "uncalled for", but that's how it is, they can be brutal. Saying whatever they want to get a guy mad or on edge. There's a reason why people enjoy chirps so much, and why the videos have to be censored so much. Some of the fun they have is "nsfw" so they can't act out in interviews. We already had that experiment with Avery, pure disrespect and being an asshole. He's not alone, he just didn't hide it. Even myself playing growing up heard quite the things from players or parents. A big part of the hockey "personality" is in the talking. and it's fun :) Also a lot of hockey guys have spent their lives centered around hockey always training and being in the environment, a lot tend to be quite mellow and shy, not caring that people should know what they like to do with their free time or being active so much on social media. The sport also has quite the population of northern euros who are also quite lax and selfless, and also may not know as much about western culture, rather sticking to their own. We're also still making the transition of the younger guys who've grown up with social media coming into the league rather than those who haven't; but even then there's still quite the amount of players who don't bother with social media or representing themselves in the media, they just don't care to.
Its the new NHL. Current players aren't boring, they're just forced to keep to themselves (look at any team Lou runs) these new kids don't care to show who they are in front of the camera. Really helps to grow the game
Wish they did a lot more of this. I’m an American however this Canada group just seems like such likable guys. Stuff like this just really shows the personality of teams and the humanity in the players who it’s hard to wrap my head around are only about a year older than me. It’ll be hard to root against these guys when we hopefully face off in the gold medal game as a rematch of last year. Whatever the outcome good luck Canada 🇺🇸🤝🇨🇦 I also love Corwins laugh in the video, hard to miss his laugh after years off bardown.
ESPN will never let junior hockey see the light of day. If they did, I’m sure you’d see more of this. Unfortunately, Americans don’t care for hockey the way Canadians do. Hopefully it’ll happen one day!
@@crazytomato1089 lol. I live a 5 minute drive away from the Frontenacs home arena. Yes I have seen him play live in person. His teammates are better players than he is. Well.. err some of them anyhow. Take a look at the team stats. This thing called points. Wright is on the wrong side of the leaderboard on his own team. He is far from being NHL ready.
@@devynorbeck1770 you grow the game with a better on ice product. Lots of personality in the CFL but they suck so no one cares. Maybe I'll suggest you watch hockey wives if you want off ice drama.
@@redredmon8833 who askin for drama? Look at the nba with Kenton James steph curry they’re not just athletes they actual celebrities and u really used the same lame ass comeback twice thinking it was good
I was at the game where Kent Johnson scored that nasty lacrosse goal agains cowichan valley the crowd including me was going crazy happy he’s doing so well in the ncaa and now on team Canada
@@siddiq106 thanks man, another thing I’ll add is not only does he look like he’s trying to play a virgin, he looks like they said “ok, you’re a virgin, show us how you’d react to seeing playboy magazine for the first time”.
@Mero81 it is actually. For some reason, the toughest guys always seem to come from the WHL. It's a different kind of hockey than the OHL. A lot of guys from the W play with more of an edge than anyone else in the junior leagues
Sad to see how isolated the French speakers are, they only picked between themselves and english speakers did the same. Its probably the language barrier.Great vid tho
I think it’s also just that they all play in the Q together so they’re more familiar with each other’s games/habits and vice versa for the English guys
@@xMiisTx Lol they tried to do that already. The rest of Canada (Alberta) in particular are giving them money but Quebec doesnt give back to the rest of Canada.
If bardown were NHL players. Luca would be Mika Zibanejad, Jesse would be Mitch Marner, Sam would be Sam Bennett and Corwin would be craig smith cause there look alikes and they have something in common. They both can’t hit the net
