I am planning to leave India too. Edit:Since everyone is saying a lot of bad thing. So let me clarify...Bhai,what's the point of paying so much tax when the govt is not providing a single service to the citizens. I am paying Income tax, Road tax, toll tax, GST on everything and a lot of other taxes for no reason. So what's the point. 2) I am married, so soon I am going to have kids. So my kid will have no future since the education system is compromised. Not to mention i have to pay millions to get my kid's education and there is a tax on education too. So technically the Education system, healthcare, business, india infrastructure everything is compromised so i dont have so much hope here. That's why i have decided to leave india because i can. I live in Sweden and here income tax is 57% and if I include indirect tax then total tax will go above 80%. India has 30% income tax at max and hardly 2% of Indians pay taxes.

I also hate the current functioning system of India, but be wary what you wish for. Millions of people died because of famines in India due to Britishers. They just sucked the wealth out of India to Britain, before they came we were among the top countries in GDP, and when they left we were amongst the poor.
Our core value system & mindset is problematic. The same mindset that made us slaves to foreign power for 1000s of years still persists. Today's india is a country made by the British, our institutions, law, education, governance etc is still mostly the same what the British left behind.

Believe me when I was young, I thought the people who were left this country are very selfish and ruthless. But now i can understand why they left this country. If you are working honestly and paying taxes in everything, but in return the government can’t provide the basic infrastructure , whereas almost all the government institutions are crippled like hell. I left India 20 years ago and I couldn’t agree with your comment more. Except for cars and mobiles there has not been any substantial improvement. Traffic has gone from bad to worse. Air pollution so bad I’ve not seen anywhere else. My eyes were burning. I went to the town I grew up in and besides new housing societies and new shops the conditions of the road were exactly the same with insane number of traffic. Street encroachment, vehicles parked everywhere, no proper pavements. Just a sad reality.

I left India two years ago. Was paying 42% income taxes, and more than 20% GST on everything we buy. So more than 50% of my income was taken by Central Government. In return you get no roads (if any you pay for it as tolls), bad water, air, education, healthcare, traffic and abusive hatred filled people.
I had extremely troubled childhood. I lost my father at the age of 5. Somehow my mom raised me. Struggled a lot during high school days out of poverty. Went to public college, denied scholarship cause I am from GC. Denied admission at IIT for masters even after getting 507 AIR in 2018 IIT-JAM chemistry cause again I am from GC although my rich neighbours got into IIT Iisc cause they have reservations. That was the day I decided I will leave India. I left India in 2021 for PhD research on medicine with full scholarship. I am now 27, I have realized India is not for hard working meritorious people. Leave India asap. They will only suck your tax and blood

Reservation is needed until we get rid of classist mentality. You might be aware that even today, people from lower caste been killed because they ride horse in their own marriage. There are number of incidents like this. So just don’t portray situation based on your preference, look what’s happening with Dalits and lower cast people before talking about reservation. By the way I live in Australia n never sought reservation in my life.

I live in Sweden and here and in many other country, you have to switch cars every 7 years for environmental reasons. Infact, by 2030, they want all petrol/diesel cars to be scrapped. First learn about the laws in other country before commenting about laws in India.

@@Pranay.05 I agree on the infrastructure part. Europe is definitely better in that sense. But here in most EU countries over 70% people pay taxes whereas only 2% people pay taxes in India. And yet I am sure over 50% Indians will complain about high taxes and poor infrastructure without contributing a single penny to India. I myself was a 30% tax payer in India and just recently moved to Sweden as my job asked me to move here for few years. I will be back soon even after knowing the cons of living in India because people glorify the pros of western countries and the cons of India and not the other way round :)
If the system is good, country will be good. In Democracy, if govt is bad we can change it, but system is difficult to change. System means Judiciary, executives, media, NGOs, etc.
I left India last year. I was not selected in IIT so came to Germany in its best university (TUM). Enjoy high ranking of university and no tution fees. I cover my living expense by doing food delivery (swiggy wale bhaiya hu mai yaha ka). So no need to ask money to my parents.

Majority of my friends have already left india and moved to various countries like new zealand , Australia.....and thier families are moving as well My reasons to move : 1. Poor lifestyle 2. Pollution 3. Almost no opportunities for bright future unless you have welathy parents 4. Major issue- noise pollution .....like when i visited UK there was complete silence even in the busiest airport like Heathrow ...you might not know but a good environment is necessary for healthy mental state ...its okay to be loud occassionally but not normally 5. Judgemantal society ....jiske sath koi nata na hone pr bhi logg muft ki salah ya judge krte hein voh bhi muh pr .....but mind ur own business kind of mentality is there in other countries which really help to focus on ur own things 6. Life expectancy is very low here .....60-65 normally 7. Education: we r more focused on theory rather than practical knowledge but other nation wants skills not useless degrees 8. Judiciary: i have no faith in judiciary...like they are heavily influenced by politics...like if criminal is supporter of ruling party then forget about winning ur case easily 9. I hate to say but our people don't know how to treat women .....being a women I can't travel alone ... Even if i want my parents won't let me bcoz kabhi koi bhi sanki aa sakta hai jiske maa baap ne kabhi tameez nhi sikhayi and then even if u sue then court cases go for at least 10 years.....and here the eve teasing and that uncomfortable stares are even worse .....bhai ese dekhte hein jese zindagi mein kabhi ladki nhi dekhi hoti ...... there's no safety for women over here .....naam ka culture hai akela aur kuch nhi ....we have such a bad image in while world which is based on true facts 10. We can earn big money in India and pay the required taxes, but we cannot experience the quality of life that can be experienced outside of India with lesser earnings. The quality of life for family and kids is of much more importance for many of the middle class and upper middle class Indians.
