Marlon Brando could not even step into the same room with Rod Steiger. Steiger was the greatest actor of all time.

First saw him in `Waterloo` when I was 10, so many great performances `The Pawnbroker`, `Doctor Zhivago`, `In The Heat Of The Night`, `The Sergeant`. I know no actor outside Olivier who has his range, and none who equal his intensity. Ciao@@josephcollins6033

The most intense actor I know. He had emotions to burn, to some it`s just too much, to others it`s their very guts. For myself, at his best, he`s the best I`ve seen.

Great channel you have put together here sir. Being a life-long movie fan I obviously try to gather as much data as I can when I like the person but you have filled in several missing pieces for me of several stars you have focused on and I say Thank-You for that and I am sure that there are a ton of people who watch that agree and give a Hear Hear.

@CRAIG 5835 Hi Craig, I totally agree with your comments. AOV Is THE best Movie Channel on YT hands down without a doubt 💥 He does his research thoroughly, & has brilliant knowledge of The Golden Years of Hollywood ✨️✨️ I give him 10/10 for his knowledge & unfailing ability to bring us fascinating information about all our Movie Idols, which is not always easy due to copyright laws. I gave you a thumbs up as well, Love from Australia 🇦🇺 📽🎬💯😊😊Xxxx

Funny how we claim to value truth, perfection and the underdog, but when we see that in a human being we destroy them.

He may not be as “good looking” as Brando, but he’s a hundred times more magnetic and irresistibly attractive on screen… IMHO

Rod Steiger was an excellent actor. Riveting on film. Scarily good. He had a level of concentration and commitment in his acting that Brando never had. Brando was just... Brando. My opinion.

In the end, Rod was underrated, while Brando was overrated.

Your subject line is a declarative phrase. It is not a question. If you want it to be a question, you have to say "Why DID Rod Steiger hate Marlon Brando?

You almost have to be a student of a acting to get through some of his performances. He easily killed the rhythm of scenes by overdoing it. I recently tried to watch "The Illustrated Man" and his performance during the first interaction just ruined it. It was completely nonsensical.

Ray Bradbury singled out Steiger`s performance, alongside Jerry Goldsmith`s soundtrack, as one of the films two saving graces.

Old Rod was in movies that he didn’t fit the role being overweight in a Western, I never found Rod a good actor? He wasn’t attractive enough to play his roles, he looked to ordinary for most roles

I got the creeps from Steiger.. Yuck....... Brando was o.k. and I think did a fine job in Mutiny on the Bounty and of course the Godfather. There are so many fine actors. Jimmy Stewart will always be a favorite. Michael Keaton is good. Al Pacino. They all offer something different. Cary Grant was great in comedies and North by Northwest.

I don't like Brando, and I don't think he is as good as some people think he is.
