I loved Ben Hur, El Cid, Planet of the Apes, The 10 Commandments, etc. I had a mad crush on Heston when I was much younger. He has an amazing on-screen presence. RIP Charlton!
To me many of the thing said here about Charlton Heston are here say and unknowable. I love Ben-Hur as well as Ten Commandments and enjoy many more of his films. I have known people who met him and said he was very kind to them. Thank you Mr. Heston, who cares what people say about you because right now I believe you are sitting at the Lord's table and seeing the real face of God.
Who cares what others thought or said...He was an upright man, an excellent actor, a great husband & father, values that other Hollywood actors are lacking off.
@@chonamariecordova I totally agree, just like with Jimmy Stewart they both made Hollywood a magical place with some amazing movies! Thank you for your kind post
Remember Clark Gable. Irene Dunn, William Haines, I think, and John Wayne were Republicans. Well, I support the legacy of his art, but not his conservative politics. At one time Artists put their jobs first, even before their personal lives. Today they don't.
I've always thought that part of what makes a great actor 'a great actor' is their ability to overcome their own (and others') bullshit and still bring magic to the screen, which after all is really all that matters. No question that Peckinpah was a freak, so the cavalry charge was probably justified (pity he didn't get him!).
Mr. Heston has said in interviews that friends call(ed) him "Chuck." Not "Charlie" as you repeatedly refer to him. I'm rather disappointed in this AOV2 video. It seems as though you're determined to slam Mr. Heston at every turn - insinuating that he cheated on his wife and, seemingly, very condescending in your attitude toward the actor. Very disappointing, indeed.
😢 Most actors suffer from insecurity, that why most become actors, to try and hide it. The wear a mask on stage in the roles they play, being other people !. Charlton Heston was no different........
So like Shirley Temple Heston became a political conservative for sexually prudish reasons.Because Hollywood dumped the production code and put nudity and suggestion of sex in their films .The r rated type films. Yet he looked to respect the MPAA rating system.
I was never much of a fan. When he did the NRA thing, he disappeared to me. His characters were all pompous and arrogant, turns out he wasn't acting. Old Wives Tale" he who talks against gays, is a Queen coming out of the closet.
