Now that I’ve awakened love before it’s time like Songs of Solomon says, my desires have become stronger and I have to deny my flesh twice as much daily because ik how it feels and want it more. One of the worst parts is it’s causing me to have a ton of wet dreams, I’ve never dealt with that so much. I wake up mad about those dreams when they come up especially because I’m never thinking about the situation to even have the dream. The experience taught me a valuable lesson about listening to God, He’s not an annoying dad taking fun away, He’s extremely loving and knows what you’re gonna go through if you fall into your temptations. I nearly beg people to not do it before marriage, everything that happens after will never be worth satisfying yourself for the moment. The Bible is absolutely correct, it satisfies you for the moment, but emotionally and spiritually, it messes you up. We did love each other and left on good terms, but we lusted each other far more than loved. And a small tip for people who easily are attracted to people, just because the person is very physically attractive and beautiful/handsome with a good personality, doesn’t mean they’re meant to be with you. I won’t discredit her, she’s very beautiful and very physically attractive, but I should have let go of being lukewarm (both of us should have) and started listening to God, a good body and sexual experience DOES NOT mean the experience will be good forever UNLESS your married. To everyone waiting till marriage, keep going, it’s never worth it before marriage, I’m healed and moved on of everything, but it messes you up long term. (Lemme add something) but if you have fallen into it and realized your wrongs, God will truly forgive you and heal you if you genuinely want to repent of it. I can’t thank Him enough for everything He’s done for me, I don’t deserve to be forgiven, especially because I knew it wasn’t good till marriage, but His love is stronger than your sins, now I’m waiting for my future wife and most definitely setting boundaries.

Sure, for some who already understands, yeah, but for those who don't, like he said in the video, "because the Bible says so," isn't a very satisfying answer for most people, especially when they feel like in the moment, that it doesn't feel wrong, or even feels good. I agree with the other comments that it's important to deeply understand this topic as well as others in regards to sin, so that when other people ask us why "X" is wrong, when it doesn't seem as obvious to them, we can give a thorough and well thought out answer to them, that hopefully makes sense to them. It can be very difficult to explain to people, especially now, in this "sex-positive" culture, why this is wrong. Heck, even just last year, I remember having a conversation about this with a friend of mine about this very thing, and he gave a lot of different reasons why having sex outside of marriage could be good, or why saving that for marriage could be bad, that I couldn't accurately counter at the time, because I myself have no experience in any of it, so I knew my words would ring hollow, especially if I just kept repeating "because the Bible said so." That paints me as woefully naive in his eyes, so there must be something more I could say, that could really explain the wisdom of God that could hopefully reach his mind, and most importantly, his soul. I asked another friend about the conversation, a friend who is a brother of Christ, who's _definitely_ more knowledgeable than me, and he helped give me a lot of points that I didn't know about the topic that I could bring up, should it ever come up again, both biblical and statistical, and real world advice on how to solve all the issues my other friend posed. Sometimes, situations can be messy, and look a bit gray, but the answer is always black and white, and the answer is always the one God laid out for us, but sometimes, it's hard to see him among all the grays, and so we justify our own blindness. In closing, perhaps for you, if it's in the Bible, and it's God's word, that could be enough, but it's always best to get a thorough understanding of his word beyond just what he says, for those that don't, and to help fortify yourself against all doubt and temptation. I have also fallen into this sin. It pains me to remember that even at the time I knew that I was going against God's laws, and even though I sinned, that led me to a time of pain and sadness where I felt that everything had collapsed and I would always be alone. When I reached the lowest point of my sadness, that was where God looked for me. That was when I understood that I was not really alone because He was with me. It is never too late to seek God and ask for forgiveness for our sins. We are not perfect; we are weak against the enemy, but we must always have faith in the Lord and ask Him to always be with us, to guide us each day to Him, to paradise.

No, but we were going to have to if things didn't change. We started praying and asking Jesus to come into this relationship to heal it and he has in a big way and we still pray for our relationship every day. Getting married next month! GOD IS GOOD!

i think that marriage correlates to a better relationship (regardless of whether you had sex before or after it) because of the planning, not because it’s a “natural good” or represents a turn away from the inherent objectification of bodies during sex. overall though, marriage is a hollow concept to me since the legal, social and civil aspect of it are completely replicable without it and it’s culturally and temporally constructed. that said i can come to respect the kinds of opinions that elevate it as a necessity even though i think they’re harmful to some people (i.e naturally casual daters and lgbt people who literally can’t marry in some countries as a form of discrimination)

Maybe surrounding yourself with friends and family could help too, bc then you're not in private and can't do anything. Which robs from us time to learn and grow and deeply study. It robs the very safety of our thoughts. I see it more like this: Marriage is a covenant of love between two people declared before God. Throughout the Bible starting from Abel, we are told to give to God the best of what we have: possessions, effort, intentions, etc. Remember "Love God with all your mindheartsoulstrength"? So how can we give God the best of who we ARE during the covenant If we're already tainted with lust? That violates Rom 12:1-2. But I like your analogy better.

That is a really screwed up analogy. And also I think a degrades people in a very inaccurate light. When my wife had sex with me before we got married she and I never felt like an empty wrapper. It was incredible, it was compassionate, and it felt safe. And having sex before marriage emotionally helped us both to understand that we were right for each other. Of course relationships are complex and there's other aspects to it. What are sexual compatibility was confirmed without a doubt. And that really helps us to build and grow together.

Well another analogy is: Say you go to a car dealership to buy a car. Who in their right mind would purchase a vehicle without going for a test drive? This entire "sex before marriage is wrong" debate is nothing but a matter of ethics. Ethics are a matter of perspective. There is no right or wrong when it comes to ethics, look up the trolley problem to understand why.

It is a long process as the Holy Spirit chips away at this all encompassing sin but let me tell you He is faithful! He delivered me from this sin and He continues to renew me every day.
