If you do decide to drill out the pin holes make sure you go with a larger size dial pins. Also drill from the harder metal side first and then into the softer metal last. But you must keep the bell housing locked down so it doesn’t move while drilling through both the engine block and bell housing together.

This is the craziest transmission installation I've ever seen 😊

There is generally adjustment with the factory pins. Just make sure the the alignment plate is not moving on you or your base for the dial indicator is not moving.

You can get the bell housing aligned exactly where it needs to be with out the pins installed. Then note where the pin’s offset will need to be. Remove bell housing and put the pins in. If it was me I would drill out the pin holes with the bell housing locked down and make new pins with a piece steel rod.

Pete your only .001 and .003 off center that's perfectly fine.

Damn. I was thinking about replacing my Chrysler 727 with a tkx manual 5-Speed transmission. After watching this video set maybe not.

If you did not think about it pull all the spark plugs out. If the magnet base happens to move just start over with the measurements. Just think about a compass north, east, south, and west for taking the measurements. It doesn’t have to be perfectly aligned with the north, east, south and west.

Simple. At 6 o'clock position you have a reading of 207 (Can't tell if - or +) and at 12 o'clock you got 214.7. Total run out is 7.5 thousands. BUT you divide that in 1/2 for a circle and you get 3.75 thousands. You are allowed 5 thousands run out. In this direction you are fine. In the 3 and 9 o'clock positions total run out is 4 thousands and again divide in half and you have only 2 thousands run out. YOU DON'T NEED TO DO ANYTHING to that block/bellhousing!!!!!! Why are you removing the dowel pins? A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!!!! Good Grief.

So many want a fast car they spend loads of money and they get too involved with the build and sometimes they dont finish it right away,because it takes years to get right. I mean you are basically engineering something to work,then you are to test it out after it is in the car. I dont get it so many guy get high standards for classic cars,that they get that are basically rust buckets. Let's fix it and drive it heck with the 500 hp v8,or the 6 speed,it just needs a good running engine with a 3 or 4 speed auto that is all.

What a bunch of b.s I guess when I need a transmission I will be looking for a different transmission. What ever happened to mounting the bell housing and installing 4 bolts. Sounds like china shit. Maybe they should make a correct bell housing with the right bolt pattern tolerances.
